    SGTV playing Sailwind: "Gotta make sure our center of gravity is all good."
    Me playing Sailwind: *Head out the window because the windshield is smashed a la Ace Ventura*

    I love this game but it requires a lot of nautical understanding to even start to make any progress, your videos are a great help!

    A nice time to come back, next update with a new sub-region is expected next month alongside some new customization options.
    Your navigation guide videos really helped me become comfortable with the tools, specially the chronocompass and the exact location of the stars used on longitude readings!

      I'm glad the guides are helping! Navigation is complex, even with the best tools. And I'm super excited to see all the new content.

    Thank you Sim Gamer TV. I'm following your series and I'm doing exactly what you do!
    Finally got the hang of the sail mechanics and was on the way to Al Nilem. Before sunset - I reefed the Sail to half - just like what you did.
    Woke up at 5 am ish to see boat had crashed next to the Dock! Unlike u, my boat did not overshoot Al Nilem, but crashed into it! It's interesting how everyone has different experiences!
    Reading posts in the discord this is a classic noob 'maneuver' by the game! Everyone experiences crashing onto the Island!
    So the only way to get out of this situation is to push and I was able to somehow push it to the dock! What an adventure! Luckily managed to finish the two jobs!
    Onwards to Episode 2!

    I was looking for gameplay of this game when I found your channel... oh man, I'm only 8 minutes into the video and I love your content! (thank you so much!) how you edit, how you narrate etc... 11/10! (pd. you just sold me the game, I was looking for a "chill" game and this looks perfect, although I also see that I will have to put hours and patience, because I don't know anything about sailing >.

    Ahoy there! ;-) Just purchased this little gem tonight. Of for a sail shortly, just wanted to pop in & say hi & subb. I like any game or sim that involves sailing, still enjoy Atlas with mods, Salt (a simple pirate , survivor, sailing sim) and a few others.. Look forward to your ongoing growth and coverage of the sim..

    How is the world sound design?
    I can't quite hear it for the music and I feel a lower poly sim like this really profits from great ambient world-noise, immersion-wise - thanks 👍

      My only thing is will all the missions be the same once we get the hang of sailing?

    • @bongotastic
      @bongotastic 2 місяці тому +2

      I did. Sank about 60h into it until it felt like I had climbed the progression ladder, then the games quirks starts to bother me more. Needs a couple mods that should be base game. Worth it, but there is a similar game coming up that is very promising.

    • @KamleshMallick
      @KamleshMallick 2 місяці тому +1

      @@bongotastic Right. Once we have everything and reach the progression limit, mastered the sailing - then every mission is the same.
      But 60 hours is fantastic. Not bad at all.
      What is the name of the similar game coming out sir, if you dont mind sharing?

    • @bongotastic
      @bongotastic 2 місяці тому +2

      @@KamleshMallick whoa, actually 90h. It is worth buying and playing for sure. The game to keep an eye on is "Following seas". With less arcadey sailing, I wouldn't mind sailing longer because there would be more variety even following the same routes.

    • @KamleshMallick
      @KamleshMallick 2 місяці тому +1

      @@bongotastic Wow 90 hours is fantastic sir! And I just checked the channel of Brendan Parlee - and he seems to be a solo developer of "Following seas" Holy cow the water looks incredible and scary at the same time. Have you been following the project? Is he close to an Alpha or Beta? It looks like a next gen Sailing game for sure. Thanks for sharing!

    Hey Sim, I just want to warn you that the big economy patch seems to have broken the game progression, at least in my experience. No amount of delivery runs seem to grant enough money to buy a new ship. I've struggled for weeks to make enough just to buy new equipment, much less a bigger ship. Most of the time I end up making net zero profit when you take in food and water costs, and I just can't see that changing unless the developer increases the rewards.

    • @SimGamerTV
      @SimGamerTV  9 місяців тому

      I've been playing offline and haven't encountered this yet, but I'll keep an eye out. And if I do run into issues, it'll be nice to have it recorded to provide feedback to the dev.

      Get fishing rod and crate of hooks ASAP. They are dirt cheap. Now you can get free food and eat fish raw. Step two - save up money and start buying all kinds of goods and resell them within archipelago. Start small. Check price differences in trade book near NPC which gives you contracts. This is also the very menu you can buy trade goods from as well. This is the way. Shipping contracts give you extra reputation which makes buying from faction cheaper, up to 20% cheaper, i believe.
      (UPD) You need 4-5 raw fish per day on average, depending on the fish size.

      Sell the table and the tutorial scroll first, you get a neat bonus. Do missions on the first trip or two, then as you get some spare money and discounts, do start taking on actualy cargo for trade. Then it is just a matter of time and money until you can do only trading, which is much more profit.

    • @ToastyMcGrath
      @ToastyMcGrath 9 місяців тому +1

      @@BizarreThing I'll give that a try, but are you sure that's enough to start turning a profit? Maybe my mistake was starting a fresh playthrough in Aestrin, but it still seems like the supplies are too sparse and the rewards too small.

    • @Kyo-kf6jf
      @Kyo-kf6jf 9 місяців тому +1

      @@ToastyMcGrath Yes, that's part of the issue, starting in Aestrin, the local economy pays really bad if you're not buying and selling the goods yourself, followed by Emerald Archipelago and the best one is Al'Aknh, in my experience, doing a full oceanic "tour" is the only way to make a profit in a timely manner on the Aestrin start (and you need to equip a gaff before attempting that, but it still will be a very dangerous trip), as for the other starts one or two trips from Dragon Cliffs to Gold Rock City guarantees you'll be able to afford the Sanbuq + anything you could possibly want except a chronocompass/large spyglass.

    Similar to Sea of Thieves.

    • @hivewasp
      @hivewasp 5 місяців тому

      Sea of Thieves navigation is a lot easier as you 1) know your exact map position at all times, 2) always have land in sight.
