There's one thing with this band when in performances their Musical notes has such clarity. Their style when playing. With such smooth rhythm in each area of the tune, it makes one truly reside to an orchestra performing.
This one has been my all-time favorite Panorama piece by any steelband. People love Woman on the Bass and Rebecca, but for me this one is it. It is still unimaginable how an arranger could get oildrums to produce this kind of musical quality. All the intricacies of this piece are highlighted here. Take a bow, Clive Bradley. God Bless you.
Just reading your comment on this performance and I agree with your sentiments ,in fact, many of us cried when the band dropped it for the supporters on jouvert morning, many hearing it for the first time wept, just thinking how sweet that victory would have been on panorama night had the show come off, nothing could have come close , and I dare say nothing has since, definitely Bradley at his best
Apart from the steel pan music most people never knew DESPERS had a North Zone football team named LAVENTILE YOUTHS most of the pan men were footballers and cricketers, in the 60s and 70s LAVENTILE people were always highly skilled men.
Its 10:40 on a saturday night. In the middle of a covid 19 lock down. Symphony in G arranged by Clive Bradley is playing and I am listening to it. Right after listening to pan in Harmony. What a moment. Desperadoes must embark on a project to record both Symphony in G and Pan in Harmony using a full final night panorama ensemble. In order to preserve this music in all its glory so that it can be passed on as a gift to the next generation.
I grew up listening to this album!
Nice to have it here on UA-cam.
Despers definitely one of the most beautiful steel pan orchestra ❤
I Am So In Love With This Tune
The god of all arrangers.
The great Clive Bradley
