Just FYI the U7 Pro have a built in fan. That big slot to the left of the network port is the exhaust. You can see it around the 02:01 mark in the video.
We have a lot of C-Stores and we still use WiFi 5 in them and dont plan on moving them to 6 any time soon, for the stuff we run in them we dont need super high speed yet.
The only advantage to having 4x4 is more antennas to serve more clients. Outside an enterprise environment you wont even notice this limitation. It would take over 100 clients to even notice. Most devices are 2x2 mimo configuration anyway. Even the s24 that’s WiFi 7 capable.
@@98ws6m6cvertthey stuck a laptop wifi chip in an AP. My 2019 MacBook pro has 3x3 wifi 5 interface that outperforms 2x2 wifi6 in actual tests. Also, there are other important advantages to more radio chains. You won't need more than a handful of clients to see a difference.
@@WillieHowe well yes, most devices won't support mlo so 4x4 will remain the better option for years to come I hope they stop at 8 for a while. somehow I managed to skip 6 and 6e entirely personal device wise
@@WillieHowe MIMO is to have multiple streams to multiple devices simultaneously. 2x2 can only do 2x2 to a single device while 4x4 can do 2x2 streams to 2 devices simultaneously.
That part you didn't know the name of is called a "doubler plate" and is used when mounting on drop ceiling tiles. Without it, the screws would pull out of the weak material the tiles are made of.
That thing is a beast. With a single UAP AC Pro and 3 U6-Lite's in my place, I think I am good for a while before I need to upgrade. Don't really have 2.5Gbe anywhere outside my rack so helps keep me from just impulse buying one to tinker with. lol. 😇
is there a portal to configure unifi7 pro? Your portal seems to be management portal for all your unifi devices. I just want to use the AP and connect it to my pfsense/opnsense firewall. My firewall is setup with the vlans and dhcp. I just want the AP to be Vlan aware according to the Vlans setup on the firewall.
Wifi-7 / 802.11be standard has been approved stable, was initially expected to be approved May last year. Certification is "predicted" to be October or December 2024.

Do you think these would be okay to run in an attic? Instead of mounting on the ceiling. I was thinking of mounting 2 of these in our house, roughly 35’ x 90’ footprint. Would an attic mount provide signal all the way in the basement?

Given that MLO isn’t yet available, isn’t this really the same as WiFi 6e? Would love to see the side by side speeds against the Enterprise AP.
Pretty much from my test with this AP. Good thing is literally no one is broadcasting on 6ghz. Super clean

Will the same SSID have to be used for each band for MLO to work?

If I'm looking to replace my Orbi Router + 2 wired satellites Unifi, I will need 3 Ubiquiti APs and a Dream Machine, correct?
No. Cloud gateway ultra with ap’s would be enough

Is there a 2.5Gb POE adapter available? Is there a 2.5Gb POE adapter period? Thanks!
The ap comes with a Poe adapter, but you still need a port that’s 2.5 gig and up. I used a 10gig sfp port until my 2.5 gig switch came in.
