Great video, but the problem with this mentality is that it depends on context. If frustration comes from something out of your control at work, but it affects your performance and the way you do your work and you have a standard, but the frustration you have from other people pulling down to a standard that you don't agree with, or has to adapt to, even if it makes you look unprofessional. Then this won't really work...
I find it interesting how often we complain and obsess about things we can't control and ignore the things we can. Maybe its a way to shift the blame to something other than ourselves? I think that is the case. Thanks for the video.
I used to get frustrated a lot at work because the expectation of performance is unrealistic and seems that the company is squeezing every drop sweat out of you for their profit. I have a very physically laborious job. It's the old time is money and money is time. Managers will push for you to be faster, but the minute somebody gets injured (such as a back or knee injury), they will say we need to be more cautious. I now just do the best that I can possibly do and if that doesn't meet up with their expectations, then that is on them to figure out how and why.
Exactly!!! My company pushes us to enter orders at lightning speed with a whole bunch of broken processes and systems with no plan to fix, but the minute we make a mistake, “YOU NEED to SLOW DOWN you idiots!!!”
Thank you so much. I needed this because I got so frustrated at work and wanted to quit that job but not the company. I will definitely put this advice into action.
I have been having issues managing a medical building. People park in our fire lane that has a bunch of towing and do not park signs. The city dosnt have a ordience to write tickets for it so I am stuck talking to these people, giving warnings or just getting frustrated. This video has made some sense In the fact that I should only concentrate on what I CAN control which is slowing the issue down. People are stupid and will park there regardless of anyone else's need or signs / asking them to not. So I am now working on making a few extra spots for quick run ins and I will sticker/ tow from now on. I can only control what I do... powerful Thanks
Sir, I have recently stumbled on your channel and believe you are one of the wisest people I have ever come across. Not to puff you up, but to reach out to someone with answers. I have just entered in to a tremendously tough time with a proposed parenting plan being served to me from my ex who I have a 7 year old daughter with. She left everything for heroin at 4 months into my daughter's life. I married a good woman who took my daughter in at 1 year old. The ex is bipolar, borderline personality disorder. We are terrified at the introduction of this person to my daughter's life. If you have any insight about anything like this in your experience, could you please make a video for someone going through these tough times?
Heard and acknowledged Rusty - I'll put it on our production schedule. In the meantime, browse through the other vids here on the channel and see what you can find. You might look at the playlists as well, since we've sorted some of the content there to make it easier to find. Honored to have you here! DrPaul
I work as a chat support for a sales company, my first day was a bit of a mess. I took the painful learning to the chin and made sure to do be next time
I get frustrated sometimes when Dr.Paul is pointing to the ceiling, talking about the 'link right here'... Just kiddin'. Loved the video, will try to apply this, thanks.

Rene, be true to yourself at all times. Hopefully it will help other people to rise to the occasion over time.
You're right. I complain when my coworkers crap affects me. Then management does nothing!

Ivan Withers, thank you for watching. Life is easier when we figure out what we have control of.

Bonnie B, show up and do the best job you can. Keep your eyes open to any other job possibilities in the meantime.

You are welcome. Less frustration when we stay in the lane where we have control.

kossur10, thank for trying anyway.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV love the positive response to negativity.
I could quit and work somewhere that people are professionals and management doesn't have double standards and play favorites.
Sounds like a good plan.
