The XHData seems to be a bit better performer, but the C Crane has nice accessories and uses AA batteries. My Radiwow's internal battery ran down the other day and I had to charge it or plug it in. Not so with the C Crane.
Hello. Well surprisingly enough my ccrane has lasted 11 months on the same set of batteries. Incredible. Just an obsevation. As always thank you. Ron. Z. Pgh pa.
Insightful comparison. I would personally go with the CCrane due to its use of AA batteries which is a big advantage IMO. Also since I live in North America weather band is a bigger plus to me than airband and only Ccrane has it while getting to keep your airband also. Yes the audio quality of the CCrane is not as pleasant but very intelligible none the less. For me its worth it for the smaller pocket size.
I get 4840 WWCR mixing with WTWW 5085 at bedtime with my 35 foot wire out the bedroom window when the 1/8 inch plug is in the antenna jack of the XHDATA, I simply unplug the wire from the jack and wrap a couple of turns around the collapsed telescopic, problem solved.
I don't get why so many manufacturers don't include NOAA WX. Loads of cheap radios have it, so it can't be a cost thing. Granted I keep several weather radios around as backups anyway but it feels wierd to spend a hundred+ bucks on a radio and then be forced to switch over to a cheap one to hear the weather and get alerts.
Given that the xhdata is 1/2 the price of the ccrane it's a no brainer unless you need NOAA. And when he says "game changer" he really means "deal breaker"..
What radio do you recommend up to 130 usd? I am interested in shortwave. Do radios with internal charger degrade shortwave? for example the pl-330. Thank's and regards

18650 are pretty common and they deliver a huge amount of power...
The C.Crane is more than 2x the price of the XHData in Australia at the moment. Thanks for the comparison.

How about the bandwidth options in xhdata d808??
question, do you have the wire antenna that came with the skywave ssb? if so, try that on the skywave, see if that improves.
wire is a wire.. nothing different
@@OfficialSWLchannel was just curious. not saying your wrong or anything.
