      Believe it or not, my KYMCO PEOPLE GTi 300 has about 30hp its 29.5hp @ 8500rpm & 22ft lb of Troque @ 6250rpm .It weighs 364lbs. Do the math that like 12.5lbs per HP im in love wth this Scooter compared to my 150cc Scooter. Kind of the same comparison as your WR 250r,& your YZ450FX . AnyWay enjoyed the video bro.

    CC I've been subscribed to your channel for at least a year and I probably watched almost all of your videos. I was super stoked to see you do a comparison video of these two machines, even though I'm not in the market for either of them. In fact I am a Harley guy, straight American Cruiser the whole way. I really do appreciate your approach to motovlogging even though I would never ride any of your rides I still value your opinion and enjoy your entertainment content so I will always watch your videos. That being said you will have your 250 or 450 up for sale by the beginning of Spring, it's a fact I know one of those machines is leaving you like to rotate your inventory too much and that's why we love your station! Anyways I can't wait to see what your next bike is!

    There is a lot more to what makes a bike "great" than simply power. I have ridden many incredible and incredibly fun bikes that are far from the most powerful on the road. In fact, sometimes it is their lack of power that makes them so fun. It's the whole slow bike fast vs fast bike slow cliche' but it's true. People that obsess over power just have something to prove or just really really like power. I have a bike with 165whp, and another bike with MAYBE 16 wheel hp, and I ride both and enjoy both equally. Little bikes are fun!

    You need to work on standing up when you try to do hill climbs and your stair climbs you will have much better control, the maintenance is not to bad thats half the fun. Cool bike I love Yammy, when are you gonna get that bike in the thick of it? Ready to see some gnarly now you have the right gear to do it, I know my 690R loves to eat all of it offroad in the nasty stuff loaded up with adventure gear or not. If you ever wanna do the TAT better get ready it will be you biggest test ever it can break most riders after OK and you get into Colo. Great vid

      Shinko 705 tires are fine on dry terrain, but sucks bad in mud. I can't venture into the woods too much with wet conditions or I may not make it out. lol

    You might be able to run a relay off the ignition circuit for the light . That way it automatically goes off when the bike isn’t running. Who knows the ecu may already have an unused circuit for that purpose or even a lighting circuit.

  • @Bass.Player
    @Bass.Player 5 років тому +30

    You keep mentioning the maintenance of the 450, those are race maintenance schedules. You probably don't need anything like that on the street or even the way you ride?

    • @tdel8613
      @tdel8613 5 років тому +9

      Bass Player lmao right? This dude is dropping 1k miles a year on his WR250. There is no way he’ll be doing that much maintenance on his 450 judging by his track record.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  5 років тому +11

      Ripping this bike the way I have be doing in these videos, I doubt woods/dirt racers would even get close to the speeds I'm ripping it at. 105 mph on the highway, 0-80 mph like a mofo all over the streets! I need to do race maintenance! lol I just won't have to clean the air filter as much because I'm not in dirt but the engine is being stressed for sure.

    • @Bass.Player
      @Bass.Player 5 років тому +5

      Cruza;
      Racing is full throttle or brakes, is that your riding style? No it is not by a log shot....

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  5 років тому +7

      @IndyHelis - The YZ450FX is not a Motocross bike though, on the Yamaha website it's listed with the WR450F as a cross country woods bike, so the maintenance schedule is reflecting this type of riding and not Motocross riding. There is no way in hell anybody is doing 105 mph and 0-80 mph stints in the woods like I'm ripping it around on the streets. This engine is getting stressed and needs just as much maintenance as the manual states when it comes to oil changes, valve checks and piston cleaning/replacement.

    • @Trad-Am
      @Trad-Am 5 років тому +4

      Wrapping the piss outta these 450's on the street does require a maintenance schedule equivalent to racing.

    Is your oil nasty on the wr when you change it? Or is it still ok? I’m torn between a few bike. I want a street bike , adventure and dual sport lol. I had a street legal Honda 450x. It was bad ass but I kinda want something with less power. The power is awesome but sometimes it fucks me up. I accidentally looped it on a whoooooed our trail. Just whiskey throttled that shit. And the bike was terrible on the road.

  • @Robnord1

    To do the steps, if you slow down a little on the approach, stand up on the pegs, and lean way forward it'll probably go a little better. More throttle while sitting down gets you a wheelie and possibly a hot bike on top of you. I'd practice on a dirt hill...steps can be hell on tires. Not criticizing...it's always good to get a new CC video. : )

      Maybe, but then again ... it's the perfect bike for learning dirt skills. Not urban fookery, but the real deal nasty, filthy, hot and sweaty, rain soaked. bug infested goat trails. Where balance, clutch and brake control, line management and trail vision are more easily executed on the lower powered machine. The WR250R has it's place in the stable for now, and I'd much rather jump straight into the saddle of the WR250R for dirt school than spend a half hour swapping out rims on the way out, then putting them back on after the ride when you're exhausted and a cold beverage is inviting you to dance ;-) It's all about fun and carpe diem ... seize the day and enjoy the moment :-) If you're a biker stay up right bro, otherwise always carry spare bass strings ;-)

My opinion, also from experience, is that if I had gone straight onto IT's/CR's/YZ's etc I would've crashed and burned and most likely not had a great deal of fun. As it was, my XL100 then XR250 [23inch front wheel] provided a steady and safe skill growth and with it a heap of fun and great memories ... I'm just saying given the opportunity, which CC has, learn your chops on the WR so that when you get serious, you'll fully appreciate the YZFX :-) My last dirty boy was a KLX650R where I had to spend as much time on cardio and muscular fitness as I did on the bike ... oh those were the days! @CycleCruza  4 роки тому

      The 19' YZ450FX has a stator that provides enough power to add a LED headlight. Just make sure to get a speedometer that has a voltmeter to keep track of the battery level. I have not had any problems since. The reason i had a problem when I first rode the bike was because I was cutting the bike off and leaving the headlight on. I don't have the headlight wired into the bike's system because I did not want to mess with the stock wiring. The good thing is my battery always keeps reserve power so the battery never really dies.

    Should make a lil oil cooler or just add a little more to it then as far as the so called maintenance no one does it that much only hardcore racers really need to do it ever 1500 or 3000 I'm sure there's a bunch of people that do that and have no problems

    It's not trash. But anyone who says it isnt terribly slow is just lying.

      Being on the slow side is what makes it great. You can pin the throttle and it still pulls but won’t kick you off and gets great traction in the dirt. You can also blast through the gears and not be breaking the laws. It’s a different kind of fun than adrenaline g-forces. I have most of the same mods as cycle Cruza and I wouldn’t call mine terribly slow, and I’m coming from an r6. If your used to a 450 my bike and ride a Wr250r for a few minutes it’s probably going to feel weak as hell

      Into The Mystery - I agree with you, the wr250r is a fun bike that can do a little bit of everything with ultra low maintenance and super cheap to own. People that don't own these race dirt bikes don't realize all of the maintenance involved and the engine lasts a fraction of how long a wr250r engine will last. There are people with over 100k miles on a wr250r with no top end rebuilds. The WR is a bike you can travel the world with and can ride gnarly terrain and ride highway all day and still have fun. It wheelies great too as you know!

      @@CycleCruza sure. You can do all that on a 650 as well, but yet still have more HP than a scooter.
