My brother was complaining about how he thinks I'm so lucky after a tree kick, I stepped up to my lie, which was about 75ft from the basket, with the basket being on about 10 feet of elevation, then grabbed a disc and looked him in the eyes while I threw my shot which proceeded to bounce off of a tree and directly into the basket.
I was gonna drop a like on this but it has 69 likes so I can’t ruin it
Not any more 😢
Made a 117 foot throw-in with a 150g Aviar in my first month playing, and that feeling absolutely cemented my addiction to disc golf.
Instablaster.
I hit a 60 footer and felt the same way
That's part of why I bring new players to short courses early on, if you make a long putt or better yet an ace no matter the length you will be hooked quickly on this amazing sport.
I took my little sister out disc golfing for one of her first times ever and I drained probably the best put of my life for what felt like 75 feet. She said, “wow, your really good at this.” It made me felt sooo proud as an older brother and now she’s a BEAST at disc golf.
The best putt I've made was a 50 or 60 footer with my Harp in a 15+ mph crosswind. A small family had let me play through, and I received a polite applause from them for my birdie.
It felt like a tournament shot with a gallery watching. I was riding that high for the rest of the day!
I made a 50 yard shot for par last week.
I literally said 15 minutes ago out loud to myself: man why is my putt so bad i have this twitch in my hand that makes spin putting difficult. Should i just push putt? How the hell does eagle spin putt so clean. And boom, uploaded 1 hour ago. This video. I was utterly bamboozled.
When I first started playing in 2004, a buddy and I went on a road trip. Played several courses across the Midwest. We were at a course in Omaha Nebraska called Cottonwood Park. I just threw up a prayer on hole 7 from about 80 feet and I nailed it. Being so new to the game we went crazy, by far my best putt ever.
I played a doubles tournament with my dad and he was nervous about how we would do, then on the first hole I hit a 70 footer for eagle and he looked at me said, “I think we will be fine”. Great memory
THANK YOU, Eagle. Such a great breakdown of the awesome hybrid putt you worked hard to develop.
The grip that you use helped me out a ton!!!! Thanks so much for that tip! I've been trying to figure out putting for over a year now and this has helped me be more consistent! Thanks for the vid!
After I finally talked my mom into coming out to the course and playing a round. I Hit the first tree possible on the very first hole. I was feeling pretty embarrassed because my mom knows how much time I spend playing but she didn’t say anything about it. For my second shot, I stepped up and drained a 110’ shot!! Total luck, but the look of surprise in my mom’s eyes is something I will never forget.
That was 12 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday.
Hit an 80’ jump put in a tournament this summer. Unfortunately went ob acouple times on the hole so it was the best 7 I’ll ever card 😂
I've been putt practicing in my back room of my house lately; this video helps steps it up a notch. Keep'em coming Eagle!
Instead I'll tell you about taking my brother out for his first time ever just last week. Hole 16 at Bud Pell, lined up a ~50 footer, basket elevated maybe 10 feet. He'd been struggling all round with some scattered decent shots (first timer) then he completely noodle-armed his putt. To my disbelief, the putter caught TWO big gusts of wind that picked it up and placed it dead center chains for his first birdie ever. He is now effectively hooked. Thats what its all about right? He has no discs of his own, if Eagle selects this comment as the winner i will give him the giveaway disc for Christmas. Thanks for looking!
9:40 this is the best putting advice to everyone; "all I'm doing is making putts..." to practice making every putt is so valuable.
I keep coming back to this video any time I feel like I’m losing my putt. Thank you for the coaching Eagle! -from the soon to be no longer novice player.
Same
Thank you Eagle! I've been wanting this breakdown for such a long time. Love the way you putt!
Thanks for this. Been practicing this week using this method and phenomenal results on the course today! Great video!
I skimmed about 25 footer off my 4 year old’s head as he went running by. He came back and gave me a high five!!
The best put ive ever made was final round of MCO and it was a massively uphill 45 footer on hole 18 with probably 8 feet of elevation. That felt amazing
Just wanted to say your various putting videos have helped improve my putting more than any other instruction video i have ever watched. Thank you .
I have seen the older video of your putting practice. Since that I have followed the method and my putting has developed. Thanks Eagle!
I have literally never made a putt worth mentioning😅
I made a 50 ft. putt and a passerby yelled "you do that often?" and I replied, "this is the first time I've done that." I'm glad I had a witness.
Humility is a great trait.
missed opportunity
@@Postermaestro that was my thought lol
Your putting is inspirational so thank you for the tips. I bought a basket a year ago and drastically improved even with only a little practice. Cant wait to try these tips over the winter and really see improvement! My favorite putt was a 70 footer I hit in one of my first tournaments on 18 in front of the home crowd. Hearing the cheers does feel good! Now Ive got to get my first ace, that's going to be sweet!
Total believer in Eagle’s advice! I’ve definitely gotten better using his methods!
Anytime I hit a 10 -15 ft during tournament, I’m stoked. Haha.
Lol
I sign the bucket when I hit a 15ft putt.
Same. I pick up that disc like I’m Ricky wysocku after jamming a 12 footer
Best putt I ever made was one of the first times I went disc golfing 8 years ago. Was only about 50-60ft but from that point on I was hooked.
I started about 2 years ago and was golfing by myself. I sank a putt from the same distance and thought no one saw until someone 3 holes over yelled "good putt!" I was so grateful I had a witness
Local random doubles tournament, 40 footer to capture the win on last hole...40 feet felt like 100 when it was for all the marbles but thats when adrenaline kicked in and I knew it was in before I released. Love that feeling! RIP Eagle's hair.
Some of the exact things i was teaching my buddy and practicing. Great advice. Respect
I’ve been playing for 9 years and putting has always been my weakness, just super non consistent. I watched your video and put what I learned to the test the other night. Played a glow round with some guys at our local course in Portland. I was smashing putts! It felt so effortless! And guess what? I won! :D thank you for making this video :)
Where you at in Portland? I’m here too, needing to get my putting better lol would love to play
@@chickenjoe4612 I live near Rockwood Park. Many people show up to play there after work. It’s a good community of disc golfers. We have the Rockwood winter series. That starts usually the first weekend after Halloween. It’s every other Saturday. Sign ups start at 9-9:45. Tee off at 10am. You can find the group on Facebook! All skill levels play and it’s 7 bucks.
There is a practice basket at Rockwood that I’ve been hitting up a lot to practice putting.
@@Summer-lq6xh that’s sick, I’m currently at UP and just started really getting into disc golf. How would I sign up?
@@chickenjoe4612 just saw this. You would just show up to Rockwood Saturday morning and get in line to sign up lol I believe it’s starting 11/6. Sign ups start at 9-9:45. Tee off at 10! You should go!
I've always loved Eagle's putting style and wanted to try myself, I tried slowing down jomez coverage but I couldn't figure it out, I'm so glad he released this video
Made a 90’ putt patent pending anhyzer. Felt so amazing! Thanks for the video Eagle! Working on my putting for my first ever tournament in a few weeks.
Best Putt/Favorite probably my first ~20 footer as a new player. Such a great feeling hearing the chains.
Best feeling putt I’ve made in the past couple weeks was during a glow round about 85 out no light on the basket slightly up hill Flicked it right to thee
⛓ ⛓⛓⛓🥏
My first putt, it’s what got me hooked
Really appreciate your time and advice! Big fan! Keep on being you to the fullest you talented young human!
Great tips Eagle! My putting game has been very off lately and this helped a lot. Thanks!
My husband and I were playing together. He said, “there’s no way you can birdie this hole, so you just need to focus on getting it in 3.” I parked it and got to walk up and drop the disc in. What a satisfying putt.
The best putt i ever made was when i got it in the basket. :D
Thank You for breaking down your putting, have been waiting for this video a loooong time so Thank You!
My best put: managing to sink the last 5m put for par on home course for a new personal best!
My best putt just so happened to be during a match with my friends. I had never won our Sunday morning round before. The final putt wasn't the longest, about 20', but will always be the most memorable. Thank you for your uploads ❤
I just saw Stafford Woods in Voorhees is part of the silver series this upcoming tour.I hope you make it there!
In a tournament this summer I hit a 90 feet jump putt to birdie a ~120~ foot hole where I hit the first tree off the tee
Hole 16 at Cedar Hills in Raleigh. I had a high and right drive off the tee that hit some trees and landed at the bottom of the hill. I was at the edge of circle two with the basket about 20 feet off the ground. There's a group behind us, and I squat like Kevin Jones and float the disc right into the basket. My card and the group behind us applauded as I ran up the hill to get my disc. I'll never forget it.
Love what you're doing with these! It's easier to remember missed putts than made ones, but one that comes to mind was a stupid uphill 50-footer on one of Charlottesville's iconic courses. I was really just trying to get it close and not have it roll all the way back down the hill. Somehow it went in. Fun times!
Best Putt: I had like a 70 footer playing with some friends on the last hole and drained it for a free Burrito from one of the boys! We play for burritos... lol
This is a great idea I gotta get my friends on bored with these high steak rounds. Yes I meant Steak lolol
Scott Or a Potato Skins match 🤣
My friends get Participant ribbons after rounds 🤣 I really need to get on this free burrito thing, though. Wonderful idea!
Eagle - ever considered making a video on what you do to enter a flow state?
No thoughts head empty just putt. Start at 10 feet if you have to just make sure you’re sinking them. Slowly move back. If you start missing, your flow state will fade so make sure you are at a comfortable range.
Made an 80 footer my 3rd time out with my 150g aviar from a starter set that got me hooked! 3 years later now and I have helped design and install 2 courses in the area and throw as much as humanly possible!
I have made a 60' with my buddies and another group was on the pervious tee and saw the sink and it raised my confidence to no end.
This year’s Montana State Doubles, my girlfriend and I in our very first tournament. Made a 40ft straddle putt to win the title on hole 21!
Best putt I ever made: When I got my only hole in one with a putter on a 150ft plus hole!
The best put I have ever made was on hole 26 at Järva discgolfpark. It was like a 60 footer really steep uphill. And I brought my wife with me to the course that day. She asked me if it was a good put. hehehehe ( I told her it was my best put ever... ) My one and only birdie on that hole. =)
Been playing off and on for over 30 years.. lot of memorable putts. The best is yet to come though. That’s what keeps me coming back. 🥏❤️
Playing my first tournament. Relatively new to the sport, and paired with really experienced players. I'd been playing poorly but the last hole I drain a 50 footer perfect spinputt through the tiniest gap, that felt awesome. Good way to end my first tournament.
The best putt i made was on a 110 foot hole which i jump putt aced! :D
best putt: a 50 foot layup that the head wind lifted up directly into the chains
Played a out of state course and was trying to keep at par , sunk a 50ft jump putt to go -1 under.. made my day ! Ty for the tips , I always felt like I had a hybrid putt. Wasn't sure about my lead foot , always felt weird pointing dead straight!
I’ve been playing for a year and one of my best putts came from my Link. I flexed 60’ around some trees nothing but chain. Couldn’t believe I made it! Great videos.
I hit a 50 foot downhill putt to get my first birdie ever. It was an accident, but a good one!
Best putt I ever made: 37 footer off a tree on a 6 foot high elevated basket.
Believe it or not just a 15 footer! 35 Years ago! First tournament ever at 17yrs old . I made the feature card for 3rd & final round. My Uncle Jim was on the 1st chase card. On hole 17 I made an uphill 15' putt from a creek to take a 2 stroke lead going into final hole. I matched par on 18 & won 2 Discs!....I have been hooked ever since. Now at 52 & my idols are a lot younger LOL..... YOU & Simon.....You guys are Awesome!
Dude man.. thanks for the hot tips! I was playing a course in Porterville California. I was at whole seven putting uphill with the wind at my back I loved it up so the disc could be pushed down into the basket I was about 30 feet out and lo and behold went up in the wind pushed it down into the basket. It looks so cool. I’ve had many cool pets I just love this golfing!
The best out I ever made: I was lying on my stomach and my hand was barely out of the rough, and I still sank a 15 foot uphill putt
The only putt that matters is the next one.
@@SalamiSupreme Technically, at some point...that putt will be the next putt.
I was just getting worried that my ‘slush’ putt was bad form. Thanks eagle!
I have started practice the step through putt and sinking the occasional 60 footer in practice rounds and it feels great!
I’d say the best putt I’ve made was last year in my first real disc golf round. It was on the second hole and only a 15 footer but it felt so good to make it and I’ve been hooked since. I really like watching your videos and have learned a lot so thanks.
Drinking game: take a shot every time Eagle doesn't say "crotch"
I've always been impressed watching your putting on the tour coverage so I'm thankful that you broke this down for us!
The best putt I made was at hole #2 Harry Myers in Rockwall, TX. Took my dad out disc golfing for his first time and I was able to make a 60-65 death putt. He was impressed!
I had an old man that was mowing the green stop for me and watched me drill a 60 footer and he erupted in excitement and yelled "RIGHT IN THE BUCKET!" It made my day :)
I had just started playing and I was starting to somewhat understand the mechanics and timing of the putting form. I was maybe 60 ft. from the pin and I tossed my putter and drained it. It was the first time starting out that I really fell in love with the game. The thrill of making huge putts never gets old!
Just started playing this fall. I hit a 15 footer that was nothing special. BUT, it was aware of everything I was doing and I actually "got" putting. Understanding the throw and feeling it have really helped me improve since then.
Just a few weeks ago up at Woodland Valley in Limerick, ME there's an awkward par 4 that's got this mando right about 60 feet off the tee and then it turns 90 degrees left. Threw a silly Mako3 righty flick anyhyzer and had a 90 foot look for eagle. Smashed it with the step putt!
One of the most satisfying putts I’ve had was during the last doubles round I played. Made a 45 ft anhyzer putt around a bush that just started to flatten out; dead centre. End up winning doubles by 1 stroke. That one felt good!
Pretty new, just about six weeks since I started and that first 50 footer you go for and hit the chains... something about that sound that keeps me heading back out as much as possible
My first big putt was an 85 footer for birdie when I was just learning. I didn't have a great backhand and my mid just glided into the basket.
It gave me a lot of confidence and now my mid/putting is the star of my game.
Its for sure when I got my first birdie! I got the drive about 40ft short of the basket on a par 3, made the putt and it just felt so awesome.
I saw this video two days ago and saw two things you do differently than I do. I point my forward foot at the basket and bring the disc to my waist, but I keep the disc level. Today, I tried your method...foot pointed 45 degrees and pull the disc to just below the waist so it's almost vertical. Wow! What a difference....more accurate and consistent putting. Thank you!
I hit a couple of 50 footers today at the course! Happy to see the practice is starting to pay off.
I have just gotten back into DG and was realizing how bad my putting is. On a recent game, I dropped in a put from farther than I usually make, though probably only 20 feet or something, and it was super satisfying. This video inspires me to put some more effort into my putting practice.
During our practice round i was telling to my buddy story of some crazy air-bounce put i saw on jomez. And quess what - on next hole I ended under the tree with about 40ft to the basket. And I hit it! Air bouce putt par excelance :-) Best feeling ever
First time playing Milo. Starting on the Philo hole. First putt of the day. 30 feet center chains for birdie. Great beginning to a glorious round!
Really nice explanation of the energy transfer from back leg to the disc.
I just started playing disc golf this summer.. my brother has been trying for years to get me started.. on my 4th round ever I drained a 60ft putt to save my par.. that hooked me to this game.. Eagle, your videos are very entertaining.👍🏻
Thanks for quick tutorial, Eagle. You've got a deadly putt.
Eagle - this is the best putting instructional I've ever watched. I've been messing around with all sorts of different techniques as I can make several of them work. However, this whole, turning the feet and hips 45 degrees but squaring the shoulders, whoa.... Feels weird at first, but seems to limit opening up to the right side and you have this stable base (lower body) which creates power and consistency. Can't wait to practice more, but results are immediately good. thank you!
Was playing a par 3 on a wooded course...my drive ended up being roughly 50’ short behind a huge tree trunk. I couldn’t put normally no matter how I stood because of the tree, so I decided to make a safe run for it with a forehand. I drained it!
Wow this is pretty similar to my style. I always thought i was doing it wrong but its what felt comfortable and consistent.
I was 10ft out in a super headwind and I released a bit high, the wind lifted it above and behind the basket and then dropped down right back into the basket and it was the coolest thing I’ve seen/done on a golf course
My best putt recently was a 50 footer. I was having a bad putting day and was finishing up a round on hole 18 left my drive short and figured here we go again. Sent up a hyper putt and it was perfect. Best way to end a average round.
I've recently felt a new confidence in my putting it feels really good to just be able to make some putts for the first time in my disc golf career it feels like I can almost make a putt from anywhere within 60 feet and if I miss I make the come backer it's so fun to make a good putt. When I'm putting I feel like the way I'm starting to go I feel like I'm one step closer to going pro. I still have a lot to learn and more experience I need
My best putt ever was just recently! I logged it on U Disc because I was so excited; I had a perfect release with my Z-line Zone for 110ft(+-16ft)! My best friend and I gasped and just looked at each other shocked. I'm still learning, in all honesty, so anything like that really motivates me to keep practicing!
My best putt was the first putt I made when I took my kid with me to a course for the first time. Watching that made him fall in love with the sport even though it was a 20 footer. Just seeing the disc hit the chains was enough to make him excited to play.
I have been only be playing for about a year and my best put by far was from about 75ft away. It was unexpected and it has really got me hooked into this sport!!
When I was still learning how to correctly throw and putt, me and my brother were down in texas and we played veterans park. Hole 7 I believe it was and I nailed a 70’ uphill putt, it also was in some brush that I had a 2 foot wide gap to hit. I was not very good so I was excited like I aced it. Jumping up and down 🤣. My best putt of all time!
Best putt probably all of those times when i have to putt into elevated basket, lovit!
Best putt I ever made was a long one, I think about 70-80 feet or so, but it was with three of my kids, they went nuts, got them hooked on disc golf, and now I've got playing buddies for life
The absolute best put i ever made was hole 16, the par 5 on krokhol disc golf park. i was down left for the basket, bearly in bounds and putting for birdie. probably 10 feet upwards and like 20-25 feet to the basket. i had the best feeling ever after that.
Best putt I made was a 45’ hyzer putt through some very tight woods during the Magnolia Open B-tier. Had to stretch out on a knee once I thought I saw a gap. That putt boosted my confidence and led to my personal best round and tying first in my division for the first round!!!
The very first time I ever played was for intramurals this past semester at my college. I signed up just for the heck of it. I was using borrowed discs and playing against the club teams captain. On the first hole I made a crazy 40-50 foot 15-20 feet above me on a hill to get a birdie and the look on the captains face was priceless. Got me hooked on the sport.
I will always remember my very first hole, out playing our very first round and playing with my family as we figure out what this game is. Having no idea even how to putt I bury a 15 ft putt for par. Immediately hooked for life!
Best putt I ever made was yesterday... over the kitchen counter... through the wall opening into the living room... flipped up around the Christmas tree... and no chaining the basket by the fireplace... 20 footer to give my son his last letter in “horse” 😊
Best putt I ever made was probably yesterday. Landed it from about 15-20 feet and yes, that is probably my best putt.......which is why I watched this video. Thank you Eagle for the new tips.
