What's wrong with placing the strainer directly on the cup? That's what I do when I need only one cup of coffee...

Nothing! I do that sometimes too. However, when the strainer is directly on the cup you can't see how full your cup is without stopping and lifting the strainer. I know, not a big deal. Thanks for watching and commenting!
