Series idea, the Gun Empire or maybe a separate new faction that hunts these Anomlies to either contain them like the SCP foundation, use them to bring chaos like the Chaos Insurgency, or to destroy them like the Global Occult Coalition.
Like this series is the research and the beginning of the "foundation" would be a good series
Chaos Insurgency doesn't just "bring chaos" lmao; They are a top secret task force formed by the 05 council that works for the foundation but pretends to be a group of AWOL MTF members. Go Google if you want more lore on that.
Sure the flesh pit was terrifying but you know what's worse? Your freezer not having shelves for your food.
Honestly that was the true horror here. These creatures are scary but I can see them all anytime I want myself by playing Anomaly. On the other hand, incompetence is truly terrifying as there is nothing I can do about it.

I am not sure why so many people seem to dislike the Anomaly dlc. I have had a blast with it and yeah you kind of need to trigger it on your own to deal with anything from it but that is kind of the point. You basically wake up some ancient archotech machine god and it is kind of pissed off at you and then you just keep on poking it.
They dislike it because it means all the mods they made are likely broken and need to be updated to the the latest version
@@korhol2065 That, and the fact that previous expansions all have some kind of system they add that's still useful even if you're not pursuing the main content of the respective expansion, while Anomaly's detractors argue that Anomaly doesn't do that. I don't have it yet myself, but I'm not convinced by this argument.

I think this dlc is more punishing for the early game. Want to tussle with the void, then get prepared

i highly recommend investing into ghoul-related tech. not only you will get to resuscitate good ol' van, but also to augment him to be even more dangerous
I had a tough flesh whip ghoul, put the adrenaline heart and armor on and it was basically unkillable, it nearly won a 1v1 of the fless pit boss + all the smalls and in the end left it so wounded it bled out while crawling away and living itself, crawling really is a good addition.

Rat knight, what if you started captured loads of worthless prisoners, and started using them as "D-Class" to interact with anomalies to see what happens. It could be a good way to gauge the ability of any anomalies you encounter.

Dunno if you knew this and just left it out or not but the little 'cracks' on the floor of some rooms in the labyrinth can be deciphered, usually into a hint towards the exit direction, though it sometimes isn't helpful. You can see one at 0:51

if you'll ever expand and build the SCP foundation facilities, I suggest getting the Fortifications: Citadel, the buildings and it's atmosphere is just perfect for the anomaly. literal Concrete Stronghold, very cool.
Rat should gather some prisoners to use as test subjects so that we would have less risk of losing more valuable members such as Van. R.I.P

I'd like to see an anomaly version of your Fallout Rimworld playthrough.
You can revive Van from his grave when you get the tech to heal him! His body will not decay while buried.
A lot of people have suggested using D-Class (Prisoners) to study and interact with anomalies.
You could take this a step up by forcing them to work for you (enslave) and specifically do so to clear out future pits.
That way you have disposable soldiers who's lives are worth a lot less than your own colonists, and also don't have much to lose from sending them in :D
Since all those beasts are crawling (I think they are. They at least give me the vibe that they are crawling) you should name one of them Crawley.

You can revive van with the ghoul resurrection serum. Assuming the freezer he's in is still running he probably hasn't rotted yet.
It can resurrect a rotting/desiccated corpse, at least that’s what the wiki says

Fleshbeasts should be given some sort of Russian names as a reference to an SCP known as "The Flesh that hates" that, if memory serves me right is located somewhere in Russia
I wish taking out the meld wouldn’t remove the cave. It would be so cool to build a super secret base down in the hole.
You should name the small flesh beast the "Skincrawler" since it's a sack of flesh on the ground that squirms over to attack colonists

You really should name the fleshbeasts collectively “Meatloaf” they are a hive-mind after all.
God the Labyrinth is much scarier when you have a mod that makes darkness darker. Had to cheat lights for my first colonist that got abducted there xD Thought it was broken at first then realized I was just in utter darkness.
The real scp 001 is the obelisk, so you might have to rewrite some names.

Sticking with the SCP theme, you could name the flesh beasts SCP-04 “The Flesh” or something and each iteration is SCP-04(a-z). Gives a chance to use more names and designate that they are all part of the same group (like the smallest and first one you found is SCP-04a “The Scorpion” to use @PeakOfHumor idea)
You should name the big flesh beast you got Mr. Cuddlesworth, goes well with rainbow, rainbow and Mr.Cuddlesworth

Name the flesh creature "Skingraft" (a surgical procedure in which a piece of skin is transplanted from one area to another)
you should make MTF teams specialized in figthing to send out to this types of missions
you should try to get some uniforms going... setting with the names: researcher, security and if you get a few slaves... well... orange jumpsuits... oh and i think getting one of the pawns to be a mechtech could help out with security... at the very least they could have a few millitors to throw at any endless waves of anomalies...

Tip for the labyrinth you can find scratch marks that point to the exit. It's a nice touch of storytelling that you're not.the only one who stumbled on this.

If we're going with an SCP theme, shouldn't SCP 001 be The Monilith itself, with a bunch of different proposals to mask it's true nature.
