My first card was also a GTX 750 Ti. This card was advertised as a PS4 equivalent/killer at the time. It only released 4 months after the PS4 at $150. It was a solid option at the time as a first time builder. The Maxwell architecture was so damn power efficient that the card did not need any power connectors and just needed 75 W from the PCIe slot. The efficiency of the architecture was so great that it made its way over to the Nintendo Switch on a smaller 20 nm node in the form of the Tegra X1. I'd say this is in the top 10 for most important cards made in the 2010s onward.
This card has been kept in use in my group of friends since 2014 😂. I had a friend whose computer literally burst into flames and we managed to save it so for a while he was still rocking my 750ti in 2023
When I upgraded, way back, from a 550ti to a 660ti I sold my 550ti to my dad for extra cheap. I think his downstairs PC still has that 550ti in it. Granted, he's primarily been using laptops for the last 8-10 years, but he still uses it occasionally lol.
Still rocking the system I built in December of 2012, Amd FX 8320 Black, EVGA GTX 660 2 GB Superclocked, 16 gigs DDR3, ASUS Motherboard, and Samsung 830 SSD. OS is Win 10 Pro. Am upgrading soon , but at gaming this setup is still a screamer, as in all fans scream, and the cpu and gpu cry.

The New Air Max 903 from Montech is only $79. It comes with 3-140mm RGB fandom the front, and 1-140mm non RGB fan in the back. We have an EVGA GTX 750 Tl at work for testing purposes among a bunch of other cards. I Had an EVGA one myself in my 11 year old i7 3770k build. I ended up selling to a friend when the 970 came out in September. Still rocking that 970. Very soon I shall retire this build
Back then in 2014 I bought an Asus GTX 750 Ti PH when it was new to upgrade from an Sapphire HD5450. The difference was huge. My version has VGA, HDMI and DVI Slots. Still have it in a low end PC used with an 720p Monitor for office and surfing and everything is fine although I wouldn`t use it for gaming anymore.

I used an single fan EVGA 750 ti on my first rig all the way up to about 2 years ago. Honestly, while obviously limited, it's a great GPU. Still have it packed away and still works! It was great for my first PC (a sleeper PC made from an Optiolex mt) since it didnt need an external 8 Pin.
It feels like red was an oddly popular color theme back in the mid 2010s. My first PC was built in a spray painted red Azza case with a red motherboard.
I built my first gaming pc in 2014. Two years later, a poorly coded game overclocked my gpu without increasing the fan speed, resulting in damage that caused the card's performance to slowly degrade over time. When youtube videos started to jump around like a VHS tape with screwed up tracking, I realized I had to replace it. I crunched some numbers (I was seriously broke.) read some articles, watched some vids and settled on the ASUS version of this gpu. It worked beautifully until 2020, when the aging pc it was part of was shelved in favor of a new build. A year later, it came off the shelf and went into my mom's old pc, to replace her dying gpu. Many of her games wouldn't load at all, some would load and then immediately crash, and those that did run ran poorly, leaving them unplayable. Mom was the biggest gamer in the family, and my little Nvidia Geforce 750ti got her pc running again. She was so happy - she gamed more than all four of her kids combined, so she was happy to have her pc back online as it were. She sadly passed away after a year of working my old card hard, but it made that year a good one, with hours and hours of gaming. It's still in her old pc, sitting, untouched, in her room, and I can't bring myself to ask for it back.
i bought a cheap 750TI into my optiplex 390 to make it better for 2024 and its actually not half bad in that system. it was about 20€ and the fan was... barely alive but oiling it up made it free up and it works perfectly now
Something I learned right away after getting into pc gaming was that you never purchase anything less than a 60 class card with nvidia, 50 class cards are only good for pixel games or giving you a display output.
CS Go (2), Paladins, Overwatch, Fortnite, PUBG etc and a good optimized game like Forza Horizon 5 for example, are the best to measure how this card performs 10 years later. The purpose of this card, in 2024, is not to play triple A titles, but esports ones. It was meant to be a budget gateway to PC Gaming back then :)
This card performed good for me. Played so much WoW on this Gpu coupled with a core2 Quad 9300. It still works, gave it and a box full of pc hardware to a kid so He can start His pc building life without the fear of breaking something costly.
Running a 750ti 2gb with an I7-7700 and its on its last legs, but still utterly charming for being £35 a year or two ago. The Palit overclocked edition
I actually don't remember why I bought my 750ti back in 2015 but it was likely because of the price. Ironically enough it possibly lasted longer than my 6600. I did end up having to replace my CPU and mobo recently because the 6600 may not have totally been the issue after all (it did have it's issues including sporadic screen lagging/hanging when playing games) that no other card ever had) but when using the 750ti to test between the 6600 and when I got my 3060 it still worked ok for the purposes of troubleshooting what I could play with it to find out my issues.
While not up to the task of any really modern games, it would certainly be fine for a productivity computer. The system my current PC replaced was running a GTX 650 and did most of what I needed right up until the power supply and motherboard gave up the ghost. Obviously my current system with it's 3070 is far faster and runs all the games I wish to play just fine (which I expect to continue for quite a few years into the future).
Got a palit kalmx fanless 750 ti for £37, best fanless card under £50 Got a new old 770 2GB asus dual for similar, powerful but oil in fans had dried out over the decade.
The PC my brother uses got a 750 (non-ti) from Zotac paired with my old Ryzen 3 1200 with 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz RAM in a ASRock AB350 Pro4. Previously it was used in a HP that I bought new for him & his wife in 2007 with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 & 3GB (2x512MB & 2x 1GB) DDR2 before going into a Acer I got for free many years later with a i3-2100 & 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3.
That card is a legend and always will be, and I owe so much to it to be sure. I actually still have mine as an emergency backup, but I hope I never have to use it.
Back in 2014 when the 750ti launched I really wanted one for a prebuilt PC I had and was using at the time, but my parents couldn't afford it at the time, so unfortunately I had to settle for a much weaker gt 610 for like 40% of the 750ti price at the time, but it was still an upgrade over the integrated graphics of the prebuilt pc which were a joke, couldn't even run minecraft in 1080p res over 20 fps. But with the 610 I could run it at 50-60 fps and close to 100 fps with optifine installed and all graphics settings on minimum. I ended up upgrading to an rx 460 in 2017 tho
Still usable for playing older games/ indie titles, basic htpc etc. The power consumtion is amazing, even overclocked less than 50w. Used market might not be that good for other parts of the world, here people still sell used 580s for 100eur.
It still my daily driver GPU. It is used when typing this comment. Same as cover: Strix OC. Black Wukong Cinematic 1 fps default setting. Back then, there are two choice: 750 / 760? Add little money get normal 760. But I choose 750 Strix OC. And I think I made a right choice. It the only 750 that has DP port. It also still supported by latest driver which 760 has been discontinue. It still ultra slow to play latest AAA game with ultra setting 1080p.
The 750Ti was the very first GPU I bought back in 2019 from a friend. It was amazing at the time for E-sports titles. And for a few years, I considered it the absolute bare minimum in PC gaming. The bare minimum now, to me, is the big brother, the 1050ti.
i still have my 750ti. And from time to time i put it in my current rid to see if it runs the latest titles for fun. And surprisingly its plays just about every game i throw at it low settings ofcourse. But poor me 7-8yrs ago only can get 750 and playing low setting @30fps for a long time was a joy. I dont know why your SF crashed but i tested it on starfield and was able to game low settings it bounced around 24-30fps if i remember.
Greg, love you channel. Lots of great info for us DIY builders. I know your primary focus is on gaming pc’s. And in that vein, could you please look at performance with flight sims such as Microsoft fs or x-plane. They seem to be more cpu intensive but still need a good GPU. It would be great to see the difference in performance numbers between game and the flight sim. Thank you for such an informative channel.
@@GregSalazar I am starting to receive all the parts for my new build. I plan to use it primarily for flight simming but I did get a free game from nvidia with my gpu purchase. My budget was 4000 and this was to replace my older system (built in 2017 running Intel i7 7700k on a asus mb). This time because of the Intel issues I went with a ryzen 9 7950x3d on a msi x670e carbon motherboard. ASUS TUF RTX 4090c GPU, 64 gb Corsair DDR5 6000hz ram, Thermaltake 1200 watt psu, Samsung 2tb m.2 ssd cooled with Corsair h100i 360mm aio. I chose the lien lancool 3 case. I also replaced my older monitor with a dell g3223q 4k 144hz 32 inch monitor. There is some rgb stuff in there but not too much. (The case, the dims, and the cooler). I think this should be a pretty balanced system. This came in at about 4100. Your thoughts?
Interesting, the 750Ti was my first graphics card like 10 years ago and its actually in use in the PC of my sister. It is the Gigabyte model and after changinf the thermal paste and cleaning it my sister can play without a problem. I mean, for a graphics card that has like 10 years still performs very well, but please note that this was 10 years ago, I will never recommend buying it at this time.
When buying anything on eBay (which I rarely do these days) where the listing says NEW I assume it is not new. Especially when the item is several years old.
only for gaming maybe, but on my Daily driver 2700x with a GTX 770 , $40 5 years ago, great for watching videos and editing videos, saves my Gaming PC with a 1080 from being used too much.
The 770 is _not_ a 750 Ti. Noticeable performance difference, even today. So I wouldn't necessary equate those. I stated later in the video that something this weak would be fine for a media rig or something - but clearly not modern gaming :-)
Had an Acer ( think it was anyway, it had an i5 6400 in it) office pc that I stuck one of these 75w gpus in that lasted for years. Had a power issue that killed it. So I upgraded to a gtx 950 75w card and continued to work and play for many more years.
For my main 32bit XP gaming rig I run a very pretty 750ti FTW from EVGA with a q6600 and 4gigs of ddr2. It totally crushes Unreal tournament 99 and Rune haha.
The 750Ti was a great value back in the day. I may be picking a couple up on eBay because I'm going to be unloading some older PCs for kids to use for Minecraft. Certainly not a beast of a card by any measure, especially today.
I once had a GALAX Low Profile version of this card (that I overpaid for, thanks to the first GPU Mining Craze), and paired it with an A10-7800B rig. Wasn't exactly a great time then, but I managed.
Currently doing a Battle Royale of older GPUs with this card in the lineup. It certainly does OK. It is especially great for low power prebuilts. Plenty available for $25, though now “sealed” 😂😂😂
Still better than my Vega 11 in Ryzen 5 3400G. Can only get 25-30 FPS in GTA V with 1/2 V-Sync, cause if I disable that function, system restarts after few seconds of playing.
This is mad I was looking at this gpu yesterday for a media streaming pc and was recommended this for watching 4k videos and movies ect and now you brought out this video 😂
02:35 : your 1st custom gaming PC was a 😲GTX750Ti-based ? WOW you are young indeed !! the 1st time i changed GPU was when i changed my 1999 *nVIDIA Riva TNT2 Ultra* with a *GeForce 4 MX440* !! 03:35 : you are so young indeed ..there WAS the *ROG* -brand back in Maxwell-era ,i still have my old Kepler-based *ASUS ROG GTX780 3GB Poseidon* model (soooobeautiful by the way)
I bought an evga 750 2gb gddr5 when I bought a hp prebuilt and realized it was absolute it had a and amd am3 apu so i got rid of the prebuilt and built my first pc with 16gb ddr4 a i5 6500k and kept the gtx 750. I played a lot of titanfall on that system.
I yanked a 750 ti 2gb out of a DELL that was legit sat next to a dumpster. Did a thermal service on it and it freaking hums in a lightweight i7 3770 gaming build.
Not a card for today's games but it's a should be a great card as it's one of the last cards supported on windows XP. There are modded drivers for the 900 series last I checked but don't know how good they are. I bought a quadro Maxwell 4gb version of the 750ti back around 21' for a XP build but have not got around to it yet. Paid $40 for it though. Card does work as it was in my Plex Linux server till it was swapped with a 1070ti.
I was later to the game when it came to PC gaming. My first system had a 1060 3GB (which is stupid because it isn't just a 1060 6GB with less VRAM), so a 750TI is too new for the retro gaming PC I want to build. I want an XP era gaming PC that I can play my retro Jurassic Park 3 games I have. May not be strictly necessary for most games I have, but one game absolutely needs retro hardware to play. Jurassic Park 3 Scan Command needs an accessory (the scanner) that connected to the PC with serial port and, as far as I've been able to tell, you cannot pass it through a serial to USB adapter cable to a Windows VM or PCem or DOSBox
I saw one of these for only £25 and I was deadass having a debate in my own head on whether to buy it or not. I ended up not getting it but would have been good for a display card.
Back in the day the 750TI was the only card many of us could afford. And it was a very decent one. Of course no modern game will run on 2GB. But there are plenty of other games that looks good and may run ok, Im thinking of Warframe for example, Daiblo 3, and there are more out there. Besides not many modern game are like the old ones. New games are more about selling you extra stuff than telling a good story.
earlier this year i got a used 1050 ti for roughly 35$ and tbh i consider it quite a deal because compared to 750 ti it's double the performance and yes i also a 750 ti before upgrading to 1050 ti

Mine just died yesterday. Served me well since it's launch
Nice video I like this kind of content. More please. Thank you.
First graphics card I had was actually a 760TI. So I know about the range you’re talking about but still a good upgrade from the 750ti.
Still usable for playing older games/ indie titles, basic htpc etc. The power consumtion is amazing, even overclocked less than 50w. Used market might not be that good for other parts of the world, here people still sell used 580s for 100eur.
Used to rock this so hard until I got my new 1070, still rocking that one!
Was still running with a 750 Ti until MSFS 2020 came out and I had no option but to upgrade. My partner is using it now. 😄
Hi from the UK. I had this card it was good. Mine was Zotac 4GB and based on the reference card
Yes for a retro XP PC. I was wrting this as you were mentionning it. I got mine in a auction bundle.
i still have my 750ti.
Hey Larry. I appreciate the support and feedback. I'll be sure to add Microsoft Flight Sim to future benchmarking sessions!
It's crazy how much people here ask for it used in the GPU shortage the seller did not even gave an effort to put the cover for the HDMI and DP. 😤
Several graphics cards later, I don’t think I ever had as much fun as when I had my 750ti
A friend of mine owns that model, but he upgraded to an RX570 in about 2019, and then a 7800XT earlier this year.
I gave my girlfriend’s mom our old pc with a 750ti and 1600af cpu. Thing still runs games pretty well!
This was my second gpu way back then gt630 was the first gpu that started me in this curiosity of pc building.
The EVGA 750Ti FTW with ACX cooling is still one of my all time favorite GPU's. Would I use it today? Hell no. But so many great memories.
I’d love to see you go over the RX580
GTX 750 ti was my first gpu, no need psu pin and it still run fun games today
I had the 750Ti for about 1 year in 2022 then jumped to the 1060 6GB right now, I have the RX6750XT
Greg Salazar videos in 2024.
Top notch as always. 10/10 would recommend.
Nowadays, this card works great in a Win XP retro build. The lack of ram (only 2gb) really hurts.
Still sporting this bad boy in my system. Played and enjoyed Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Diablo III 🤪
I bought a 750 Ti back in 2015 to replace my ancient 550 Ti.
Ah, good times! GTX 750 Ti was the first graphics card I'd purchased.
Love this episode, please do more. I also hope you said something to the seller for being misleading in his ad.
Did you miss the part of the video where we messaged the seller directly?
@@GregSalazar I must have sadly.
my apologies
Had an Acer ( think it was anyway, it had an i5 6400 in it) office pc that I stuck one of these 75w gpus in that lasted for years. Had a power issue that killed it. So I upgraded to a gtx 950 75w card and continued to work and play for many more years.
My first GPU ever was the Asus GTX 750Ti. When I first found a GPU in Escape From Tarkov, I was immediately taken into the past!
this is the videos i need to see, nostalgia blast!
Still running the Twin Frozr 750 ti in my Xeon server rig today. best 60 bucks ive ever spent and that was 3 years ago.
Currently doing a Battle Royale of older GPUs with this card in the lineup. It certainly does OK. It is especially great for low power prebuilts.
Plenty available for $25, though now “sealed” 😂😂😂
I had the AMD equivalent about R7 260X and man, the entire build I had was so much cheaper than anything I could put together now.
That gpu belongs in a museum
I yanked a 750 ti 2gb out of a DELL that was legit sat next to a dumpster. Did a thermal service on it and it freaking hums in a lightweight i7 3770 gaming build.
Not a card for today's games but it's a should be a great card as it's one of the last cards supported on windows XP. There are modded drivers for the 900 series last I checked but don't know how good they are.
I bought a quadro Maxwell 4gb version of the 750ti back around 21' for a XP build but have not got around to it yet. Paid $40 for it though. Card does work as it was in my Plex Linux server till it was swapped with a 1070ti.
it was viable until 2017 or so. 1050 ti on the other hand can still run some of the recent games.
Yep, much better deal!
