The Rick Astley of cinema. In that he was once upon a time absolutely everywhere, then he vanished as quick as he came.
Decades later he reappears and as it turns out he is a thoroughly nice down-to-earth bloke who seems completely unaffected by it all.
Someone who clearly pulled his parachute at just the right moment.
Great to see him doing well. 👍🇬🇧

I had a big fat 8-year-old crush on both Mark Lester AND Jack Wild after seeing the movie "Oliver". Glad Mark has had a relatively happy and successful life.

Wow. this was great. Oliver Twist was a major influence musically in my life because I was born in the 60's and my now grownup children would talk about the songs that I would sing and interact with them out the blue and it was "I do anything" and Thank you very much". I see you did not mention the whole sperm thing with him (the claim came right out of Lester own mouth on TV) during the Michael Jackson portion but did provide some additional info I was not aware of that he wanted to marry Mark's daughter (to her horror). It seems that Michael was attracted to Mark Lester's genetics and wanted to be part of it. You did not ask if he still had any interactions with them, specifically the kids and if he asked you not to bring that up, it the Jackson control probably again. We will probably never know the DNA of any of the Jackson clan because they are are a holder of secrets and that is really why Michael is dead because that seems to be a requirement. It is great to see him doing well and I am very impressed that he got the schooling and became a doctor in a field that he saw there was a need for. It is hard for a lot of child stars it seems and can lead to their demise when the only thing they can relate to as a career is being in front of the camera. I found in Oliver Twist my first crush with Oliver, Mark Lester for most and then with Jack Wild who later came on my TV every day in H.R Pufnstuf (which is a nickname for my boyfriend because his initials are H.R.). This has led into the love of the British accent. Now that Oliver Reed always seemed to play the same brooding character (but I believe I saw a clip somewhere of him in an interview I think just be lighthearted and laughing and then I realized he just being type cast) in most of his works I had the opportunity to see and it sad that alcohol and smoking took away great talent so soon. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
