One of my fave TV shows as a 60s kid, RIP Don Grady, Tim Considine..
Grew up watching "My Three Sons" & thoroughly enjoyed it-Sorry to hear that Tim Considine just passed away.
Only 2 sons left now, Chip and Ernie are the only surviving sons as of March 2022. Sadly we lost Mike a few days ago. 😢

It's June 11th 2021 and thank God for MeTV!! MTS it's on every morning here in the North Bay, California... And I don't ever miss this show. I even go as far as to taping each episode and I'm now into when Chip eloped with Polly! This is the only show that brings me such comfort & joy in a crazy world we're all living in now... I'm ten years younger or so then Chip (Stanley Livingston...) So when I see him at age 12 or so I was just a baby LOL, but when I was five, six years old... I had the biggest CRUSH on Chip! I've NEVER told ANYBODY that (blushing) but anyway, thank you guys for posting THIS and all of you fellas making thousands of us happy viewers and STILL to this day! Also sadly Don Grady who was awesome as Robbie... Rest in peace and thank you. 🙏💜🌹🍀

He did a phenomenal job on the show and was a talented actor. So glad he was chosen. he was the perfect one for the role of "Robbie"

The early epis with Tim(Mike) and Bub were the best, Tim. You kind of were missed. Very nice to see you showed up at this interview!!
Agreed! The shows with Bub in them, the early shows, were the BEST!!
I used to love the later seasons better, but that was before I saw the first 5 seasons. Now the last 7 seasons aren’t the same without them. I hate how they were completely written out and never mentioned again after they left the show. It’s like Mike never existed. Steve said Robbie was his oldest son in the later seasons. How can you forget your first born son? When Don Grady left the series and didn’t appear in season 12 he was still mentioned. He wasn’t written out completely.
@@veryfungamesawesome Yes thank you! It really upset me that they barely mentioned Mike maybe a few times after he first left then it was like he never existed and I don't even know if they mentioned Bub either. Totally irked me.
@@SpongeBobfan3646 I’m currently watching season 5 on metv everyday. Bub is being mentioned a few times by Uncle Charley. But I remember that in Season 6 he’s never mentioned again in the series. It’s like he never existed.
So much fun to see them as grown men. Loved and still love MY THREE SONS.
Nice interview, and it's nice to see Tim Considine with the Livingston brothers. I've really enjoyed revisiting My Three Sons on ME and only wish we could see the black and white episodes added to the normal syndication package. Thanks for taking the time to upload this, Mr. Livingston!
Me-TV is now airing the episodes from all 12 seasons, so I was able to watch the final 2 seasons, and now the show is back in Season 4. I think the episode that introduces Ernie as Chip's friend is being rerun this week.

I remember when the Douglas family moved from Bryant Park, Illinois to sunny California.
The fictional town of Bryant Park was in Illinois? I always thought it was in Indiana since they mentioned Indianapolis before in an episode.

No doubt this would have to be the very best show I've ever watched growing up and now in my mid 60s and still watch the show on METV on UA-cam 👍

Have to think they knew Don Grady was ill. He was not mentioned with much significance. And he was a huge part of the show.
I believe it's likely they had at least some inkling but out of respect for his wishes and family's privacy, they opted to downplay his serious [and ultimately fatal] condition during this interview! What's astonishing is even just a few months before his death in 2012 at age 68 after a four-year struggle with myeloma, he STILL looked like a healthy man in his mid-30's with a full head of hair who could have passed for his 'kid brothers' son!
Poor talented, always happy, nice to the public, well liked, Don Grady died at only 68! So sad.
So much for the promise of finding out what Tim had been doing....
Mr. Considine married twice had a son and grandchild by his 2nd wife (who stayed married to him 44 years until his 2022 death) . As for his professional life, he became car racing aficionado to such an extent that he wrote gigantic scholarly books about the history of auto racing. Yet despite his proven writing ability (unlike his onetime colleagues Barry Livingston and Tina Cole- as well as his own 1st wife Charlotte Stewart), he never seemed to consider writing his autobio or anything about his earlier performing career!

Both Livingston boys were adorable. When I first watched this show I was instantly smitten. Can’t imagine life without this show now.
In truth, Fred MacMurray wasn't the first movie star to become a TV star, there was Lucille Ball, Donna Reed, Ann Southern, Robert Young, Eve Arden, Red Skelton, Doris Day, Jack Benny who did vaudevile, radio and movies and many more stars before and after Fred MacMurray.

To be fair, while Lucy and the others had all worked lengthy careers in motion pictures, they were NOT as big 'stars' as Mr. MacMurray when they started their shows as when he started his. And while Doris Day WAS as big a star as Mr. MacMurray, she didn't start doing her sitcom until 1968- eight years after he'd gotten his start! Of course in Miss Day's case, she wouldn't have done it but for the dual reasons that her late 3rd husband had signed her up for it without her knowledge AND had blown her entire fortune so she needed the money FAST!

Same, I love the first 5 seasons the most with William Frawley. Can’t wait for season 1 to air again on MeTV, it’s currently airing season 11.
@@veryfungamesawesome Ditto! Love the early seasons. Cannot believe I was just seeing them for the first time about 2 years ago. They are superior to the later seasons all around. The writing!! The acting of all the boys was on point. So good. I especially thought for a really young actor Chip had real talent.
@@m.e.d.7997 Yeah they must be good actors if they could remember all those lines in only a couple of days rehearsing. Since they shot the show the way they did, shooting scenes from 10-15 episodes per day that’s a lot of lines to remember. And how 9 year old Stanley Livingston AKA Chip remembered all those lines the first season I have no clue. I don’t think I could do it and I’m an adult, I guess starting young is how you do it. It was so sad when William Frawley had to leave the show and sad that he died a year later.
@@veryfungamesawesome Stan mentioned once that the producer on the show the first year or maybe it was the director strived for perfection in the scenes to get things just the way he felt they should be. Often there would be take after take after take, but it does show in that first year because the episodes were flawless all around. I got the impression it was not their acting solely, but the setting, timing, lighting, expressions etc he wanted to be just right and authentic. This person left though after the first year. Peter Tewksbury left after the first year so maybe it was him. I noticed the boys fought more in the first year too but that certainly was an authentic picture of a bunch of young brothers or sisters for that matter.
Always wondered at the beginning of the show if Tramp was Stans's(Chip's) real-life dog. You could see the affection between the two.
I do not think he was but I agree with you.
No he wasn’t but I think Tramp loved kids.
@@veryfungamesawesome And what's more everyone loved the original Tramp whose actual name was Spud to the degree that his trainer Frank Inn actually had Spud's ashes buried WITH him upon Mr. Inn's passing!

You are on every morn on ME TV albuquerque. You all were good role models for us baby boomers and many of the same thoughts and decisions you portrayed helped us then and later on.....including being kinder and more helperful and patient with/ to our younger sibs. LOL NM😍 With TC gone now, we are realizing/dealing with our age and its vulnerabilities.

Don Grady already passed away on June 27, 2012; aged at 68. Thank you very much, and may god bless Don Grady.
Probably was too weak to be on this show. They said he broke his leg.

This was a month prior to his death of bone cancer. His broken leg was undoubtedly the result. It's possible and likely they did not know seriousness given their response.

The show jumped the shark the last 2 seasons.
Stanley Livingston looks like Mark Hamill in the Last Jedi movie.
Stan should have had more of a career. He was a talented actor. He got typecast.

I think I was born in the wrong era because back in the 60's life seemed to be calmer and men were polite and well mannered. God you can't really find that now at days. Even though I am only 40 I grew up watching My Three Son's and had a major crush on Tim Considine.
4:50 Fwiw, Don Grady (Robbie) died about a month after this interview. The other three fell all over themselves to explain why he wasn't present, and I could hardly make out what they were saying. I believe they indicated he'd broken his leg, but it sure sounds like they were covering for something else (e.g., his terminal cancer condition).

Yes, I loved the later seasons until I binge watched the early seasons. Now the show wasn’t the same without mike and Bub.
The host was clueless and mechanical. The guys deserved better.
Hmmm, I don’t think Chip was in every episode. I recall the last few seasons, there were some episodes without Chip and/or Polly...gonna have to look that one up now.
You are correct in that Stanley was not in every episode during the last few years of the show. However, he was the only "son" in all twelve seasons of the show. Tim left after the first CBS episode (also the first color episode). Don Grady left after Season 11, even though his name remained in the opening credits. Barry, of course, arrived during Season 4, but did not become a "son" until Season 6 right after Tim left.
He wasn’t. He started appearing less often in Season 11 because I think the show’s focus was Dodie for some reason. He didn’t appear for 4-5 episodes in a row in Season 11. And in Season 12 I think he only appeared in 4 or 5 episodes. But the 1st 10 seasons I think he appeared in every episode or close to every episode. I’m currently binge watching the show starting with season 1 and so far he’s appeared in every episode even if it’s a brief appearance.

Since he was very sick with cancer he was probably too sick to go. Sadly he passed away a month later. It was sad since we couldn’t see all 4 sons together one last time.

@@hobbygamer6220 Yes, the first 5 seasons were the best, seasons 6 and 7 were good even though it was a new storyline with Mike gone and the adoption of Ernie and Bub gone and Uncle Charley taking over as the live in nanny. After the move to California the storyline completely changed and wasn’t the same. After Steve got remarried it was completely different. I tolerated it but I liked the all male household better.

I like it better before Earnie joined the cast. Seemed to just become corny with weak storylines when he joined the cast.
