@@InfidelAmsterdam I always like to see other collectors and enthusiasts talking about their collection. I dont listen to Death Metal at all and i collect different kinds of music but it doesnt matter. Seeing other peoples passions and hobbies makes my day.
This is one of my favorite old school Swedish death metal albums. I got it on reissue/repress, great riffs and great compositions. Sometimes doomy, sometimes almost d-beat punk, combined with that buzzsaw tone. Damn I really feel like listening to this album now. The song Spawn of Flesh (a favorite of mine) always gets me going.
One of my favourite bands and albums. I love my Swedish Death Metal, I saw them at Netherlands Deathfest II and I hope to see them again. Awesome video, Ed. Keep up the amazing work!! 🤘🤘🤘
Good to see a video about this, I have the vinyl LP press from Blood Harvest, definitely a cult OSDM album, its due to releases like this that the early 90's underground DM scene was special. \m/
Love this album! Such underrated Swedish Death Metal, essential imo!! That mbr pressing is so sweet mate!! I have the 2 relapse pressings, so they’ll have to do!! Great video!! 🤘🏻
One of my most cherished gems: Arcturus - Constellation (nocturnal art productions 1994, ltd. 500) Great idea for a series, Ed. Looking forward to see more!
I was actually really hoping for you to do a video format like this. Would be great if you'd keep showing your gems and maybe in general some in your opinion underrated or overlooked/forgotten albums :)
Excellent idea for a series, and a bloody good start with God Macabre! I was thinking of doing something similar on my channel I want to start soon, you beat me to it!
Damn Ed really good idea you got there for this series,I also have my eye on some old albums that are too expensive and seeing what the original looks like really helps out.Looking forward to this!!!
was waiting for you to do something like this i feel like one i have that i don't talk about as much is my "Hurusoma - War" LP limited to 100 copies and pressed back in 1999 super good Japanese black metal
My gem is a first press kill em all and ride the lightning. Didn’t even have to buy them family friend had them and sent for my birthday. Was an awesome present
Cheers man! Yet more examples of your passion. EDIT: Just another recommendation, melodic black metal this time: Haimad. Not a new band, but I've never heard of them... Very good quality thought. They released an EP recently, here's one song: ua-cam.com/video/rzIvsZtZK24/v-deo.html
Hey Ed :) Great video! :) It's always great to see you talking about your collection (and bands you like) with such passion :) I have a little question. In your videos you often label albums as old school death metal. So there has to be new school death metal. What is the difference between these two?
Also I’d love if you made this series going into different genres of metal even if I don’t listen to something specifically I appreciate rare albums so much
I wanna say the most valuable collection pieces I have are either Excruciate’s Passage of Life or Unanimated’s Ancient Gods of Evil. I bought the last Passage of Life CD I could find on Discogs at the time for something like $75 and in regards to Unanimated, fuck, even their represses sell for like $65.
love this i sent you a grail i have a signed copy of To serve man by Cattle Decapitation (i know you don't like them but i love them and it was 7usd)the seller didn't tell me that it was signed and it was.
@@InfidelAmsterdam wait didn't you already do a video on that topic? granted that was a long time ago. you still lived at your old place or just at your current one but then did the videos downstairs. you told us that you can see it on the inner ring of the cd it self.
You can notice it because of little differences in the design such as the picture printed on the CD itself or the album cover. Most important though is the matrix number. If you have a CD or a vinyl then in the middle (you have to look carefully) there are small letters and numbers graven (i hope this is the correct term) onto the record. This matrix number is exclusive for every single press. Then you can compare your matrix number with discogs (not all are on discogs but often there is a collection of numbers for US press, Europe press etc. and they are incredibly similar to your matrix then it's a safe guess that it is not a bootleg). I found out that my Incubus CD was a bootleg because of differences in the design that i could not see but my girlfriend who is a designer was able to. So the design might be a tough task and thus the matrix should be your first step.
I hate going the Russian bootleg route but sometimes I don’t have a choice. If it has too high of price tag and it’s never been repressed then go that way. When a band or label doesn’t repress then I have see my Russian connection. 😂
just out of interest, how do you store your collection, alphabetical, genre etc? i have around 2000 cds and have to do it alphabetical because id never find anything if i didnt!!
Hey Ed! Wat ik me afvroeg, ga je ook regelmatig naar concerten of geef je je geld liever uit aan je verzameling? Ik heb je een keer gezien bij Amon Amarth in Utrecht maar verder helaas nooit tegengekomen.
God McCobb definitely the definitely the Swedish sound I got me a copy of that CD relapse reminds me like like this dismember and unleash entombed good stuff
I like these shorter videos, with the focus on rare albums. BUT your audio is still atrocious. It's so much lower than everything else I listen to on YT, and it's quite hard to hear what you're saying. Please buy a better mike, it'll last you a long long time! :)
Stonesorrow Its weird cause I have a seperate mic on top of my camera. Plus I don’t think its sounds that low. Not saying you’re wrong but I will have to look into it 🤔
i dont have the bell on, but i get all your vids on my feed. I have a channel too and people tell me even with the bell on they dont see my vides on their feed nor get a notification. Its a huge problem on youtube right now, its so random and annoying. We put so much work on this and people like what we do, but the platform dont care..
I already love this series
Glad you do, I got quite a few really nice gems in my collection :-p

Seems like a pretty cool series :)

Pascalectomy That’s the idea 😉 I have quite a bunch more or the same caliber albums
I'm definitely excited to see what the deepest depths of your collection have to offer ;)

Good idea for a series. Also a great album with doom and grindcore.. along with the beauty of Swedish DM style. Kudos!!
Wow quite a collection ya got there !
Good video Idea Ed. Great album too. Have it on vinyl. Awesome stuff!

Ooh I’ll have to check that one out, you got some good obscure black metal tips often 😋
Like the idea! 😎
I myself have got Vital Remains- The Black Mass and Morta Skuld / Vital Remains split on 7" vinyl both 500 copies 😉
Fucking solid album, blows my mind every time I take time to listen to it

Hey ed. Have u checked out nocturnus ad's "paradox" yet? U should...
But Ed...I would be thoroughly entertained if you reviewed various precious rocks :(
Would you do a video on how to tell if your gonna get a bootleg album or how to spot one. I don't know how to tell or even begin to start.
