Chris, you and your Uncle’s story is amazing!! I was a very good friend and confidant to a legendary Brigadier General of the U.S. Army (BG Whitfield) he too went from enlisted to officer and rose the the rank of Brigadier General, he was the first person in the Army Guard to be promoted to Flag Officer (not adjutant) thru the U.S. Army. He was an amazing leader, man and it was my greatest honor to learn from him.
Pursue it. as a member I can tell you that it is a most worthy endeavor. it’s not perfect but my good days in the brotherhood faaaaaaaar out weigh the few bad days. pursue it.
