This is my second time watching the documentary, and i can say some stuff that seems confusing now will make sense later. While this was a hard watch, just because you feel for each girl, i do think Simon overall did a really good job of ensuring these girls were tough mentally and physically, and made sure they wanted this life for them, it was their true dream. Because being an idol isn't easy, especially if you wanna be one of the best. You need that passion and extra gear that you see in other professional settings and sports if you truly want to succeed. I do agree with your western mentally statment, we do things differently, so to us, this seems cruel or harsh, but to them, it prob wasn't nearly as bad as we imagine. Simon really nails the tough love aspect imo. As always, love your content and your input. Hope you're living well, brother.

After a really tough idol training camp, they prob won't have too many surprises once they debut. ty for commenting fam. kind of a low moment in life, but u know how that goes. things always go back up. peace

The howling could be SIMON’s dog…the girls do dance challenges and you’ll see him in their TIK TOK’s. Beautiful Dog. It could also be one of silly Xtraordinary Members. They are so chaotic and fun. hey Steph. yea, I know it's a responsibilty for Simon to groom these girls for the rigors of the industry. it's also a different culture with different norms in the music business. So it's been a pretty good excercise in staying open-minded ~
You said it's not constructive that they left Maju in the dark. There's a reason why that was happening. Watch it again and pay close attention. Maybe a second watch and you'll see why Simon was being cold to her. And why Jurin didn't select her.
dont think there was any explicit reason from what i remember. 2 scenarios ive seen ppl say about maju: reason 1. she eliminated herself because she didnt want to eliminate the others and send them home or reason 2. she eliminated herself so that she could land on a better team. but idk if having two red shirts max rule still holds(Team A and B already had two, the max amount of red shirts) so im not sure why ppl said its reason 2 in some other reaction comment sections ive seen unless that rule changed. other confusing thing is Team C choosing chisa instead of maju (unless she told Team C not to take her back which makes reason 2 make sense but also the max amount of red shirts thing is still confusing). other thing was jurin choosing to be 4 instead of her original team of 5 so 1/3 (hikaru, chisa, maju) was going to be cut no matter what since theyd have no team because each team could only scout 1 person(leaving only team B and C able to scout)
She eliminated herself from her own group expecting the other group would choose her. But it didn't go as she expected when one of the groups decided to move on with only 4 members and no other group picked her. I think it's a good lesson on how harsh the reality can be. and the point of the South Korea training camp wasn't to eliminate trainees from the project, it's more to challenge their mental fortitude, and how to deal with challenges and extreme stress. They're group that are dealing with massive hate right now because of their inability to sing or dance properly, to have develop strong mental to deal with stresses must be really important for them to debut.

She made the decision. She didn't like being with the yellow shirts and thought, since she was in the top 5, she would get picked up. When Team A with with 4 and Team B grabbed Hikaru, it was a wrap. Why would Team C want her back? They grabbed Chisa. She should've stayed. They probably would've still been sent but she would've had more opportunity to show herself.
I few did, yes. Hikaru is part of K1pler, kimiya is a solo artist. A few of the others are still with XgalX traines or have gone on elimination variety shows. I don't think any of them were kicked from XGALX. I just stayed trainees as the other girls debuted
