@@SimplilearnOfficial A VPN client doesn't "connect" to the ISP in any special way. What the client does is encrypt your data stream and reroute it to the VPN server before it leaves the device. The ISP does nothing special. From the ISP's point-of-view all of your traffic is going to the VPN server. The ISP has no idea of your data's final destination. The tunnel exists on both sides of the ISP because the tunnel on the client side is the encryption combined with the rerouting of the data to the VPN server. On the server side the data is decrypted and then routed back out to an ISP to be taken to its final destination. The question in the video is flawed. If B is correct so is D. But the main issue is you're trying to represent a line(VPN tunnel) that passes through a point(ISP) as a point. To make it work you have to properly represent the tunnel as the two points that make up the line. To do this you can say "VPN tunnel entrance" and "VPN tunnel exit". But even that is slightly wrong because those points are the same as the server and the client. And then there's the fact that the communication is two-way so both sides are entrances and exits.
B technically isn't the right answer, you have to connect to a network (which will connect you to the ISP first) THEN you have to use the VPN Client to then connect.. VPN software can't connect you to your WiFi, you have to manually connect to your WiFi first then initiate the VPN. Not sure how i can be wrong but if someone can enlighten me why B is still the answer and not A, please do. (If your laptop is not connected to your Wi-Fi network yet, you won't be able to use your VPN service to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi for you. VPNs are typically designed to encrypt your internet traffic once you are connected to a network, rather than handling the network connection itself.)

@@SimplilearnOfficial A VPN client doesn't "connect" to the ISP in any special way. What the client does is encrypt your data stream and reroute it to the VPN server before it leaves the device. The ISP does nothing special. From the ISP's point-of-view all of your traffic is going to the VPN server. The ISP has no idea of your data's final destination.
The tunnel exists on both sides of the ISP because the tunnel on the client side is the encryption combined with the rerouting of the data to the VPN server. On the server side the data is decrypted and then routed back out to an ISP to be taken to its final destination.
The question in the video is flawed. If B is correct so is D. But the main issue is you're trying to represent a line(VPN tunnel) that passes through a point(ISP) as a point. To make it work you have to properly represent the tunnel as the two points that make up the line. To do this you can say "VPN tunnel entrance" and "VPN tunnel exit". But even that is slightly wrong because those points are the same as the server and the client. And then there's the fact that the communication is two-way so both sides are entrances and exits.

B technically isn't the right answer, you have to connect to a network (which will connect you to the ISP first) THEN you have to use the VPN Client to then connect.. VPN software can't connect you to your WiFi, you have to manually connect to your WiFi first then initiate the VPN. Not sure how i can be wrong but if someone can enlighten me why B is still the answer and not A, please do.
(If your laptop is not connected to your Wi-Fi network yet, you won't be able to use your VPN service to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi for you. VPNs are typically designed to encrypt your internet traffic once you are connected to a network, rather than handling the network connection itself.)
