I absolutely love the 2nd piece you put on! The style and color is super flattering on you Denise! Just gorgeous!! You are correct about pinking shears being so large! I spent hours one day probably a year ago, searching the web for smaller ones. There just aren't any. That would be a great business to start, making smaller ones marketed for wigs! Especially since wigs are becoming more and more popular!
Denise, thank you so very much for this video! I’m not new to wigs, however, I am new to trimming lace fronts--due to my fear of ruining pricey wigs! Your video has given me the courage to trim the lace front on a RW wig that I love, but haven’t worn much, because the lace front is a little longer than the norm for her wigs. You are a special lady and have been a Godsend to many of us. Thank you, wig sister, for all time and effort you spend helping others on this journey. God bless you!
Got my first HH from Debra’s Enchanted last week… I am scare to cut the lace.. but I plan to do it today. Thanks for your dedication.. You’re the best. Wiggin it diggin it. 😘
Denise, this information is soooooo helpful. I’ve never had to cur the lace on a wig. All of my wigs have come with the lace already cut. Lately, however, I have been purchasing a few budget friendly wigs here & there that have been given positive reviews. Less expensive wigs are an affordable way to practice styling, cutting, thinning, heat styling, rooting & even toning or dying without ruining our more expensive wigs. I have seen a few reviewers struggling to cut the longer lace with pinking shears. Years ago, when sewed, I was taught that pinking shears were not meant to cut pieces of fabric such as cutting out pattern pieces. They were meant to finish edges only. That may have changed over the years. I would suggest cutting the lace with regular SHARP scissors and using the pinking shears to finish just the very edges…like you demonstrated on your ready to wear wig. Your videos are invaluable!! Thank You❣
Hi! What is best to use for itch and irritation from a lace front wig? It's enough that I can't hack having the wig on! It's my first wig. The lace is buckled a bit and I have ordered the It Stays that you recommend for that. Thanks in advance!
That's a tough one because we don't know exactly why it is irritating you... if it is an allergy of some type then there might be nothing to do but not have lace. I have found that trimming it back helps A LOT both for lace that is buckling AND irritating so I would try that... I really do think the pinking shears help as well.
The ones I have are 6mm but they are out of stock.... I would go with either the 5 or the 7.... I don't think you want the curves to be super close together like on the 3mm....
I cut my lace back pretty far and because of that I don't think you can see it when it is on.... and the pinking shears will help with that. If the lace is visible to you, then some makeup that matches your skin tone can help.
I've watched quite a few lace cutting tutorials in preparation for cutting a little bit off it off my new JR Rachel Lite and I'm still seriously too scared and anxious to attempt it. I KNOW I'll mess it up! 😫
I totally understand!! Would you consider getting a cheap Amazon wig to practice on? I just watched a video where someone make a hat wig out of one and I plan to try it myself and film a video... so worse case you can buy one, practice the lace cutting, and then maybe make a hat wig out of it so it doesn't go to waste... OR... it could be a wig to practice thinning, trimming, straightening or curling on as well!!!
I have a pretty basic question. I’m new to wig wearing and I want to be able to put the wig hair behind my ears but when I put my wig on the cap covers my ears and then if I wear glasses the cap presses on my glasses and is uncomfortable. Am I putting my wig on wrong? Should the cap be going behind my ears. I love your videos they have helped me so much. Thanks for any tips on putting the wig cap on correctly. I know this video is about cutting lace but I didn’t know where else to put this question. Thanks.
Hi! The cap should not be covering your ears at all... so if it is then the wig is much to big for you. Here is a video I did on this.... if you still have questions after watching let me know! ua-cam.com/video/z-2h0Ly4oWs/v-deo.html
@@heywigsister thank you. I watched your video and it helped a bunch. I think I just need to play with my wig. It is a lace front and it has adjusters and I need to play with those. I also need to put my wig on behind my ears, lol. TY!
This was the most helpful video I could find about cutting the lace on a lace-front wig. Thanks!
WOW, That ready to wear, the long one, is amazing and you look wonderful... And young! Thank you
Thank you so much!

The pinking shears are currently unavailable.
Try these... I looked at them and they have the rounded edges that I like so they should work great! amzn.to/3JuAIHz
