Nobody knows who the singers are. They only know the song from Tiktok. No western people care about your Payola one hit wonders.
I don't see why it is so difficult for some people to accept that sometimes the stars just align. Fifty Fifty just happened to release some good songs, at the right time, as well as market it in surprisingly good ways. it happens all the time, that unknown artists, or artists from small labels release a song, and BOOM, suddenly everyone has heard of them. This is not a new phenomenon, and it does not mean that any nefarious deals have been going on behind closed doors. It is usually just a case of right place, right time.
And the whole conspiracy about the financial struggle being a lie because they released several MV's is also pretty ridiculous. If you actually look at the MV's, it doesn't seem like the productions cost is all that big. There are few sets compared to a lot of K-pop MV's, and they are reused a lot throughout the MV's. The members usually have one set each for solo shots, and maybe there is a set for a group shot, but even that is sometimes not even the case.
This is not to say the MV's are bad at all. They make it work because the directing and shot selection is good. But it does show that they don't have a massive budget for these MV's.

Is no unknown that kpop fans are one of the most fanatics people in the world, they understand success as a combined effort of idols and fans that spam and praise everything they do everywhere they can, they can't grasp the reality that "Cupid" is just another Gamganstyle, a song that is catchy and got viral, people like it, simple as that.

It simply because their song is basically so good in quality. Like your thought, I dont think they spend big budget in MV like what other group did. Take an example, Cupid is just like two - four sets. Even "Tell Me" (my most fave song from them) doesnt have proper MV.
I really hope that they will do well. It’s extremely tough for K-pop artists to be successful from less known companies.
this group deserves all the success they are getting, it's impressive how a group who came from such an unknown company are doing so well. I'll say they are the most successful group and organic group that came out of 4th generation groups. not a fan of them but I'm glad that they are doing so well and their song is really good so I know they'll definitely break more records

What makes Cupid twin ver special is its on the level of other english language hit songs but its K-pop. Its like a proof of concept that K-pop can make english language songs on the level of something like "Call me Maybe"

I'm happy for Fifty Fifty's success, I am a bit worried though about them possibly being a 1 hit wonder. Like I wonder how many people who love the song actually care about the group in general and their other music. I guess only time will tell, but I wish them the best.

On Mother's day my mall (one located in the US south) played Cupid. I never hear Kpop music in my area so this to me screams of how far they have come and I can't wait to listen to them more here in the US.

The best route for 50/50 is to release songs that aren’t KPOP generic cuz their biggest asset is their voice. They can do songs same as new jeans or songs that are more melody driven. Girl crush and cutesy type songs are very saturated. Down to earth, relatable, and easy but smooth on the ear would be the best way to go.

These girls are extremely talented. I've watched their other videos, and they're always singing live and can do rapping on the spot. They can do beatbox too, and harmonize instantly. The fans of the other groups are afraid that someone from the small company is surpassing their faves, and they will do everything to prevent this from happening. The girls have their strength, and that is their vocals. Their company is also doing a good job in putting 20+ subtitles on their contents, reaching global fans. I am not afraid that they are going to be a one hit wonder, as their other songs are now getting recognition. I believe that they are going to have a bright future. Good job on Hunnies for always promoting FIFI on a very positive way.
It's so smart of them to release a twin or English version of their song cupid which made them blow-up, so happy for fifty-fifty that the general public loved their song Cupid. I stumbled upon Fifty Fifty Cupid on Spotify (I don't have tiktok) and instantly liked it. The enchanting voice that kicked off the song caught my attention, and I couldn't resist listening to the entire album filled with more delightful tracks. Regardless of the unfounded accusations, I genuinely enjoy all their songs, and it's puzzling why people feel the need to throw shade at them. They truly deserve all the success they've achieved

FIFTYFIFTY deserve everything that is happening to them. Amazing live vocals, dancing, and charisma!! Not to mention that are all 18 or older something that is almost unheard of nowadays. I really like Ive's and new jeans style of music but there's something more real, authentic and relatable about Fifty Fifty. There's a lot of emotion in their voices when they sing and the way they talk about their music, you can tell that it's truly theirs in the way they seem to feel connected to it. It's similar to how i feel about (g)idle and mamamoo. I thought "cupid" was a bop but I became their fan after hearing "lovin me" and seeing an interview of them talking about that song.

Suddenly tiktok was filled with "Cupid", and many ppl said that the song was better than Newjeans. I thought Cupid was ordinary and similar to bside Lesserafim (sour grapes & good parts) nothing special. But then Cupid's tune started ringing in my brain, I looked up the full song and played it. BOOM, I felt hypnotized & kept repeating it, I looked up the lyrics on ytb and watched all the Cupid videos on tiktok. I started looking for other songs; Higher, Lovin Me, Tell Me, Log In, they were all really good. I followed all 5050's social media and watched their ytb videos. I love Aran's voice, it's so addictive. Now I'm a fan and always look forward to their content. I hope 5050 can get many more successes & always make good songs. I'm looking forward to their comeback!

Many of these fandoms feel unnecessarily threatened when an unknown group make the chart. So they find any excuse to bring down the group to prevent them from surpassing their faves. I'm not say they definitely will but fans get paranoid when a group makes similar achievements to their faves.

They will do everything they can to prevent it from happening. These girls have their strength, and that is their good vocals. Fiftu Fifty can definitely make it.
They r getting good radio plays and all but content wise and promotion wise they r still lacking. I believe it's got to do with their company. Being a small company and not expecting big shot results in such a short amount of time must have been overwhelming. Their company must be making proper plans for their next move so that they can keep their recent success as stable as possible.

Did you look up their fan engagement across all the popular social media platforms or are you only relying on their UA-cam stats? Their engagement on TikTok can be higher than their UA-cam engagement. More ppl are on TikTok which is why it's the most popular app at the moment.

As a Hunnie from day one, I'm beyond proud of the girls and the company for what they've done from day one. They have even provided content on their channel unique to what I've seen from other groups and since the beginning have had 20+ caption translations on their videos to spread to as many possible fans globally as they could. Size doesn't matter, other companies could learn SO MUCH from Attrakt. As for the haters.. thanks for verifying Fifty Fifty has made it, wouldn't be official without pathetic doubters 😂

There’s nothing to not like about Fifty Fifty. Their music is great, all 4 of them have beautiful voices, they sing live, they are down to earth and genuinely seem to like each other. And they are all adults, so no debuting ridiculously young minors.

I really think some people are just upset that FIFTY FIFTY has an organic hit on their hands, while many - or let's face it, most groups that have hits are helped out by coming from such huge companies. In FIFTY FIFTY's case, their company, as unknown as it is, is only a detriment to their success, yet they managed to break through anyway thanks to the virality of their song. In short, I think it's a little bit of bad faith and a little bit of jealousy that has people slinging accusations.

It’s so catchy, I never thought that it was a kpop song when I first heard it.
Breaking into the Western market, Black Pink performed at Coachella. Twice performed on Ellen. BTS performed in the USA. Also, the Brave Girls “Rollin” Korean Army videos went viral. So Internet based success is possible. If it wasn’t for finding K-pop on UA-cam four years ago, I wouldn’t be purchasing K-pop albums at my local K-pop stores and online. It’s a global market.

As for why Cupid is literally everywhere, to dear kpop stans, it is really catchy that breaks any genre. I'm a metal head and I love listening to cupid when i'm just chilling with some beer and weed.
If you look at music charts outside of Korea, you can easily find small/indie acts getting top positions.

Music critics can tell whether a song is good or not but in reality.. what makes a song popular in KPop is the size of the fan base. I'm sorry to the fans but I gotta say some popular girl groups have come backs that really sucks... song and concept so so!! but because their fan base is so big... they can get no. 1 in music shows... I've been in Kpop since the debut of SNSD and I can say.. back then songs are good not because of the group's fandom size.

Gangname style and bigbang is the song and the group that brought me into kpop but suddenly in few yrs. Tuning in i lost interest in kpop, then fifty-fifty came up and accidentally pops up their debut song in yt wayback dec. And i fell in love with that song and brought me to into kpop again and to the group, now this is the only kpop group i love bcoz all their songs are my type of music 🥰
I'm just a normal person appreciating music. I know about BTS, Black Pink, Twice, and Mamamoo. I've listened to their songs but we dont click, like, I never bopped along with their songs. Not because it's not good, it's because it just dont fit and I dont understand it. Whereas Fifty Fifty's Cupid, I do. It's a good song to listen to, I can understand it (the English version), and also it's fun.
I've always told my sister this, if a KPOP group wants to go big overseas, make songs that people overseas will generally understand and sing with, along with good music source and good timing (by the grace of God). I think the Fifty Fifty and the management as a whole did a good job with the package. Plus, the group is really good. I listened to their other songs and it's good. Though I still prefer Cupid (twin version) since I can sing along with it. Their voices also have a unique signature, that's what also makes me listen. There are a dozen good singers but what makes you stand out is your unique voice.
I cant understand why some people would think so badly of others just because they became famous. If there are any discrepancies, it will eventually come to light.

I first heard the song on tiktok, I genuinely thought it was an american song coz their vocals are relatively low toned (not the typical tad bit annoying high-registered cutesy female voices) and the music doesn't include flashy recycled bass and electro beats most kpops songs usually have, plus their good English accent. Truly, I love this kinda kpop song.

I've been keep my eye on them since nugupromoter dropped Lovin' Me and i remembered their official debut photo was them with unedited green screen, barely on music shows, and never attended variety show, their promotion was v dry at that moment 🥲 and i witnessed after cupid virality, i can see their agency have more budget to give more promotion for cupid and the girls! They deserved all the love and success!
