Unfortunately I didn’t get a new return spring and bushings I didn’t look at the vid till I had the parts. I got it in though, my hhr has like half the throw 🤯
Im building up a 2004 pontiac sunfire. Just installed AFR and have HPtuners for it. Realizing the limitations of the p11 ecu is certainly making me want to switch out to a newer platform.
@@gbrunner24 bought a Harrop TVS 1320 Supercharger for my 2.5 LE5 5spd but didn't get around to installing it, so I sold it to ZZP. I should of kept it. I wish I would of got the Bremo BBK and all the Trim pieces. You can't order them anymore. 🙁 I never got to install my KW Variant 3 Coilovers on the Focus I had before the Cobalt SS. I still have some O.Z Racing Superturismo GT 18’s I need to sell.
So you mentioned marking the cable prior to complete disassembly. Well mine is broke, so what's another way to ensuring it gets adjusted properly. Will be buying a zzp short throw as well because why not? Lol
I know this is a bit old now. but when I installed mine on my 2.2 I noticed that shifting was a lot more rugged and notchy compared to stock shifter. Stock it went into gears smoothly and now it feels more like i gotta push it in gear. I've played with the cables a bunch to get it better but always feels the same
@@MCl0VING Yes you certainly can! The blue knob I installed is from another company. You just have to know what size the lockout pocket is in the new knob.
Can you count number of ribs after each cable, i adjusted mine and never even counted and am just wondering where a good point to start off of would be
Hey there cap, i hve an 06 Cobalt Supercharged i'm having a little problem with the ignition i beleive it might be the electrical switch. Sometimes it will struggle to start it misfires then it starts onces the engine is running i have no problems it runs great doesnt die nor misfires. Other times it starts right away. Hve ya had any similar issues ya can hve advise me?
Correct, I swapped that a few months back. Could never stand the 04-06 wheel, the 07 is so much better. Buttons all function as they should aside from the menu and back button for the DIC. Those you have to continue to use the ones on the dash.
I would literally sell left nut if you guys made that big socket housing for the big round part of the shifter, I don't wanna do janky shit with a soad can 😒
So I purchased the OTTP pivot bushing and Solid base bushings. I already had a ZZP short shifter. It took roughly about 45 from beginning to end. Pretty easy install. Shifter is definitely stiffer. I plan on buying the solid cable clamps to remove the plastic pieces
I'll never forget the first timing driving my redline with the ss and bushings, felt like a completely different car! Worth every penny lol
zzp engraved on the shift knob would be dope, loving the video though!
Very good install video Tyler. Looking forward to option b and dual pass video next.
Solid job as always brother. 😎

ZZP shift knob 🤘🏼
Yasssss!!!!!! Good stuff guys!
I'd love to see ZZP engraved shift knobs but besides the logo I'd like to see the shift pattern as well as the option for custom engravings

Yeah those cars are definitely limited from the tuning side. Cobalt SS is a natural step up from your Sunfire ;)

tyler so handsome
Needed this thanks!!!
Blue car is best car
Would love to have a choice of colors for shift knob rally yellow along with a black zzp logo!!

LET'S GO!!!🏁

That is by design, actually. Because it is a shorter lever arm it requires applying a little extra force to shift than the stock version.
@@ZZPerformanceChannel can you run after-market knobs I want a dragon ball knob but I'm unaware if I can do it with the lock out mechanism
@@MCl0VING Yes you certainly can! The blue knob I installed is from another company. You just have to know what size the lockout pocket is in the new knob.
@@MCl0VING If you need any clarification shoot me an email Tyler.V@zzperformance.com
@@MCl0VING You can run an after-market shift knob as long as it matches the threading on the shifter. (threading size is M10 x P1.25)
Please help I can’t get the cables off
Pop can? 13:11..
Tried pulling taking out my shifter base but there’s a washer that’s stopping me from putting the final shifter bushing in on my LNF :(
Can you count number of ribs after each cable, i adjusted mine and never even counted and am just wondering where a good point to start off of would be
When are the 2.4 race block going to be in stock
when are you going to upload the option b, intercooling video? i also have to do all that stuff on my lsj 😭
It's currently being put together! Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for it.
If you didn't see, we've got both parts out now!
I put a evap purge solenoid and my car runs but turns off after a couple secound and white and black smoke comes out

Mine does that too. Then crank it never starts. But, starts every time non the second
i wish there was a good one on the market for the f23 but everyone is just as good as stock just might firm up the shifts but same throw
Where can I get one of those shifter knobs? 👀
I purchased it from www.shiftsolutionsco.com/
Yours is an 06? Someone must have swapped the wheel to the 07+ wheel did they?

Hey Ty where'd you order the shifter boot from? I really need to replace my ratty one. 200K of abuse tends to do that to them. :P
I ordered one on eBay, unfortunately that did not fit. I will be getting one from Redlinegoods.com. They're a little pricey but quality is top notch.
are the f35 and f23 shifter assembly’s the same?
They are not
Are you going to sell the stock shift knob and reverse lockout? I've been searching for stock shift mechanism and knob all year
saab 9-3 have the same mechanism
I prefer the OTTP short throw better
Aluminum into stainless...the aluminum is coated i hope!?! Otherwise, it will be galvanic action albeit at a very slow rate.
I need a new transmission first lol. No reverse or 5th. :(
bring in some engraving and colors

We, ZZP, do not sell one currently, but OTTP makes a nice Delrin version
