Perfect and spot on. I installed this myself based on this video... by the way on each side of the engine bay there is a plastic piece that runs from front to back( right next to each quarter panel.. tuck the wires under there.
I had the same problem discovering that I should put the light on the bracket first for ease. Good job man looks great. You should get some cali raised tri color led bulbs for the headlamps, super convenient and rad AF. ✌🏽
great vid! I have the same set up with the Baja squadron fog lights as well. I do have the Tacoma Beast Headlights and some raptors grill lights. I just received my ditch lights (Tacoma Beasts as well) today so this weekend I will be installing them, can't wait.
Ron S that’s awesome man! I want to get the new head lights and raptor lights, along with all the other stuff on the list lol you now how it goes! Good luck building you’re truck!
I installed these this past weekend....I mounted the lights on the brackets first and I too had an issue with the hood moving on the passenger side only. Just had to adjust it a bit on that side and it was fine.
I just ordered the same package not that it's an issue but the plug n play makes installation much faster. I love cali raised I just keep on buying more and more stuff from them
Im definitely gonna get that kit !! Ive had it in my cart like 3 times and bail on it , lol. Im gonna get them this weekend now for sure. Great video brother , good job !!
Rick Mccraw right on!! That’s awesome! I do that every day with something for the truck. I think you’ll be stoked with these though. Thank you for watching!
Nice install video. This is one of the last mods I want to do. Appreciate the video. BTW....mind blown...never ever thought of twisting the electric tape to cut it. I always pulled until it tears. 👍
Hey man I really dig the clean editing and nice sort’ve calm vibe you give off! I don’t have my Taco yet but watching this to give me an idea of what mods I wanna do to mine haha. Anyways awesome video! You got yourself a new sub :)
Good vibes. You’ll get sucked in to doing all kinds of crazy shit when u get a Taco brother. All of which are fairly easy things to do with the right tools on hand. Good luck.
I had to build custom brackets for my ditch lights due to the reflection off my white truck hood. It made it rather difficult to see at night...Also, move them closer to the side of the vehicle rather than towards the center and it will help as well.
Lights look great on the hood I’m trying to decide if I should put those on my back rack facing forward or facing backwards. I’ll probably end up just doing both but. Great video on the lights.
Great video. I think it convinced me to make this my next project this spring! As you mentioned its kinda hard to do projects in the snowbelt this time of year without a garage.
M Schoenfuss If you find the correct hood mounts, this package will definitely work for you. It’s a pretty novice level install. Hardest part is probably trying to go through the firewall grommet.
Dan Teich Check out Jesse Rizo’s channel, he’s got a few videos on these installs. I used the clothes hanger technique on my Tacoma and it works like a charm.
Did y'all push the cable through the center of that firewall seal that looks like a weird rubber cervix? Or did you push it through between the cervix thing and the metal?
the bolts where it connects to my hood will not budge and I'm starting to strip of of the bolts from twisting so hard. and yes I'm spinning the right way. any suggestions cause I have the pods just sitting on the kitchen table trying to figure this out
River_Potomac_Guy ah man, that’s a tough situation. Is it an older vehicle? If so I would try using some Ultra Lube Spray or some PB blaster and let it try to free them up, then try again. Hopefully that is helpful!
Got kc lights and a cali switch coming. You think the wiring is mostly the same? From what I've seen the kc lights have a yellow (power), red (acces.), black (ground). Not trying to have the switch lights on 24/7 haha
Nicely done man, installed them myself today. Had a hard time deciding where to place the cord from the light under the hood, seems like I found a pinch point relatively everywhere I laid it. I did end up popping out the push pin and guiding it threw there, but in between the light and there, it was a tad bit hard. I figure most people just let it squeeze against the plastic and the hood when it sits. Have you had an issues with them not being covered since you installed them? I know some states are weird about that
TwentyOne ToOne thanks for watching and for the comment! I haven’t had the issue of a pinch point. And I haven’t had any issues with having them uncovered. I know some stares that done allow that though.
jon shearer I believe it came to around $140-$150 total. I don’t remember exactly. It was a package deal at Cali raised led’s web site. For that price I figured I couldn’t go wrong, and I was right. Such a good deal!
@@TheGoodVibesProject dam it lol. I live in Minnesota where's theres a lot of salt, washing it by hand is not ideal when its 10 degrees outside lol. I usually do touch less to get the salt off then goes right in my garage.
Matthew Schmidt Hooking up the pwr and ground are super easy. Use the ground connection on the drivers side engine bay wall. Just to the right of the battery as your looking at it.
Like the video and I bought my own cali raised ditch lights, i am just wondering How’d you run the wire through the firewall did you poke a hole? Thanks
Jomer Aquino thank you!! Yeah, I poked a hole and used a wire hanger and taped the harness to that and pulled it through. You may have to poke a bigger hole with a screwdriver, but I would only suggest not making too big of a hole. To keep water from working it’s way in there, I wanted it the be tight around the wire. Hope that helps!
Just got some ditch lights and now my only problem is I'm trying to get wires through firewall but it's sealed tight, does it matter if I kinda cut it or jam it through? Seems like it was easier for you
The Good Vibes Project please do me a big favor, send me a pic where you pushed it through on your firewall to my email jones.louis7@gmail.com Thank you so much!! I’ll do the same thing! You said you used a big screwdriver? Hmmm...
Great. Just as an addition, i sprayed the hood brackets and bolts that mount the lights to the bracket with Rustoleum, to reduce any rust beginning.
man those look great! nice job! i'm going to get this setup for my 4 Runner. Thanks for the help.
Even if i didn't have the same model of led lights, I found your video very helpfull. Thank You !
I appreciate you doing all this without a garage Brotha!!

Very good video and high quality. Please keep making videos for the tacoma one of the best review channels I've seen and I've seen all of them lol
GoproZack thank you!
Awesome video!! Very much needed. I installed some cali raised Ditch lights on my 4runner this helped alot!
Defkid310 Bqad right on! Thank you for watching, I’m glad it could help! 🤙🏻
Great video man, helped me make my decision to get these and install my self.
Josh Warburton right on! Thank you! They are a super easy install
Great video, thanks for showing the wiring too! Gonna put ditch lights on my to do list!
Good video you hairy beast! i need some of these lights.
Great vid, I got the same brackets for my taco with rigid pods
Justin Miller nice! The rigid pods are great pods!

I actually mounted the pods on the bracket and then attached it to the hood mount

I use my bracket for a Cb antenna
The smaller hardware was zinc.. I would have thrown those out and got stainless from a local hardware store. 4:22
Have you ever noticed any glare off of your white hood?
Hey bro, did you use some rubber gasket to avoid water from entering the engine bay thru that wire from the LED?
Good video next my 2019 Trd sport 4x4
Tony2 thank you so much!
Where did u buy the lights and bracket bro
Great video...
One thing to mention.... they will hit your windshield if not adjusted right. I wonder how many people have cracked their windshield?
Great video. I think it convinced me to make this my next project this spring! As you mentioned its kinda hard to do projects in the snowbelt this time of year without a garage.
Where did you instal the relay? Every instal video skips that!....
Fs-Kris-Fx I just coiled up the extra wire, wire tied it with the relay and left it lay on the fuse box lid.
what is the light pattern? are these more of a spot or flood light??
Great video! Makes me confident I can actually do it myself! I’m assuming I can purchase that package for my 2019 ZR2 right? Thanks man!

Maybe try a breaker bar to give you some more leverage? Mine were tough too. I had my hood repainted and they painted right over the bolts
Currently running 15% off through the end of November. Get yourself some :-)
not sure if i hooked mine up right, everything works, but my little button light stays on even when the key isnt on?
Does your button itself light up? I dont see where you hooked your button into your dash lights.
John W. It only lights when the lights are on
Great video. Clear and concise instructions.
nice vid. are your fogs yellow because of the bulb or the lens? I am looking to get my fogs yellow like yours. can you tell me what you used? thanks.
TFrax thanks for watching! They are yellow because of the lenses. I went with Baja designs squadron sport
@@TheGoodVibesProject appreciate the reply. Thanks
Can i install those on a yaris hatchback

Does it matter what order you connect to the battery? Red to battery first or ground first?
What size screw and nuts are the ones that locks the pods onto the brackets? Thanks in advance.
Looking to buy some anti-theft locking nuts.
Do any part of the harness connect to the negative terminal on the battery?
Does the kit include the wire connectors that you heat shrink?

What do people use ditch lights for?
Robert Neal to light up the edges of trails/ the road. At least that is my understanding of what they are used for and what I use them for.
Great video! Totally random question off topic, what floor mats do you have in the truck?
Just found your channel because this is the exact setup I am looking for. Mind telling how much the whole setup cost you?

The Good Vibes Project that’s a killer price. Thanks for the reply 👍🏻
What wiring harness did you use
What about the automatic car wash? How did these light hold up
I never took the truck through an automatic car wash. I always hand washed it

Do you think this setup would work with a 2nd gen?
UhJomo I am not sure if this set up would work, but on the Cali Raised web page they have options for second gens.
Hey thanks for sharing install. Did you only used the copper to push the wires thru the firewall? After that you took it out?
Yeah, I poked a hole with a small screw driver than used the copper to push through and once it was through I took it off
Would this work for my 1999 Toyota 4 runner?
Where you get the brackets
👀
Cali raised LED

NorCal OffGrid707 Baja designs squadron sports
Where did you find the OEM switch?
Cali Raised has a ton of OEM style switches on their website
Does your OEM switch light up with the dash lights?
Mark Casha no, it only lights up when I turn them on
That's what I'm searching for, the placement of the red 2 wire, so she lights up when the dash is on

in Pa also , bucks
On your switch does the light on the switch stay illuminated? I have the same switch and mine stays illuminated all the time
NFREngine14Bravo no, the way I wired it, it only is illuminated when they are on.
Nfre how did you do that?
Mine’s staying on all of the time, no clue why
I see this is been up for a while now, How are their side projecting lights holding up? Considering buying a complete kit for my 4Runner.
I actually switched those out for Baja lights a couple months after having them. In my experience Baja lights are the only way to go after trying them
