    I like your very informative vids, packed full of useful information. That is a neat looking rig. I would like to try longbow limbs myself. ScottinPa.

    Mine is paired with R3 Samick Discovery long limbs for a 37lb, 60” setup. Really a wonderful configuration. I think that speed comes from limbs thus riser gives comfort. eBay saves me about 70usd from retail price. Please, makes some videos shotting this beauty.

    I set mine up yesterday, with the Bosen Carbon longbow limbs 40lb @ 28. My brace height at the moment is set 7 3/4". the top limb has a tiller of 7 5/8 "and bottom limb is coming in right about 7 3/8 or in 16ths about 7/16th's. Did a draw weight pull test with a hand tester, my draw is just about 27 1/4 - 27 3/8 or call it 1/2", and it was reading at 38.157 - 37. 783 with doing two draws, pretty damned accurate, will go to the range tomorrow to fire my 140 arrows, that's about what I shoot per session, of two hours, to get a good feel of the bow, so far happy as punch.

      Great. Hope the bow performs well for you. Daylight savings time starts here tomorrow, so I will get the chronograph out soon and check the speed on mine. Best of luck with your new bow.

    I've ordered this rifer from OMP, it hasn't arrived as yet but landed in Bangkok, this Saturday, so maybe Monday delivery will come down to Cha Am. I also ordered carbon Bamboo core longbow limbs from Bosen limb co., at 40lbs, in medium length, so total length of the bow will be at 60", also arrived in Bangkok, so anticipating arrival of both to go shooting. Good video thanks.

      I may get a set of longbow limbs for mine as well. With the weather warming, I hope to do some chronograph tests soon to see what kind of speed it shoots. Hope you enjoy your new bow.

      That's the beauty of ILF limbs, interchangeable. The tests will be interesting to see.

    It's 56". 15" riser with shorts makes a 56" bow.

      Okay, just to clear things up. Woodsmans Finest is referring to unstrung length which is 56" following the limb contours. String length is 52" and strung length from groove to groove with a 8" brace height is 49". Just measured all of this to confirm.

      @@ReconRokon just to be clear woodsman is correct. Your set up is a 56” AMO bow and should have a string length of 52”. And ILF limbs are not all measured on 17” risers, in fact the standard is 25” riser and each manufacturer seems to do whatever they want so buyer beware

    looking to get a Trad setup.. been wanting a hoyt satori but its a little cost prohibitive for me at the moment. thought about just getting a cheaper takedown but I'm wondering if this would be a better option. is the riser competitive to the hoyt?

      Honestly, I have not held or shot the Hoyt so I really cannot give an opinion. However, I would recommend going with a lower price ILF setup just to see if you like Trad. The Samick Discovery is a nice looking setup (aluminum riser). The value with October Mountain is hard to beat. The Hoyt would certainly hold its resell value if you didn't like it. Best of luck whatever you decide.

      You can't compare to the Hoyt riser, it is a metal riser with all type of adjustments and add ons, changeable grip, etc.

    Nice video. Any updates on how the bow's holding up?

      Bow is still performing perfectly. No issues to report. During the crazy heat we have been having for the past month, I have not been shooting much. Cooler weather is on the way, so hopefully will be shooting more as season nears.

      @@ReconRokon That's good to hear, I'm definitely interested in picking up this bow. It's around mid to high 90s right now in Texas so I don't plan on shooting for a good few months till the temps drop a bit. Well thanks for the speedy reply!

    Did you find that the actual tiller Limb bolt is one size, and the tiller lock bolt on back side of riser is another size. ?

    • @ReconRokon
      @ReconRokon  3 роки тому

      Yes, not sure why they did 2 different sizes.
