    As time goes by, only the most clever and canning mice will be left in shawn's barn. The traps have to be smarter and smarter each time to get the elite few. This is natural selection on a small scale.

    I wonder, if you were able to build a trap like this, but rather than just lead to a single holding cell, it led to a labyrinth of tunnels, would the mice chew their way out, or continue to explore until collected the next morning?

      They should not bother responding to Shawn. Instead, they should just make the damned trapping area out of thin sheet steel. For $0.50 this trap becomes a badass mouse-incarcerating machine. It's your reputation at stake -- why build such a POS? Did they not test this thing??!!?

    I just lost two of these traps to "smart mice". Chewed holes in the sides, like yours, then one chewed a hole in the vented air area large enough to get out. Became worthless. Missing my best mousing cats right now.

    this is the style I got.... haven't gotten anything yet but I m in an apt. and I m not sure how bad the problem is. I got one made of metal and I'd recommend reviewing one of those. No escapes out of that! Nice sized airholes on either side like this one for good ventilation.

    • @syrop26
      @syrop26 6 років тому +1

      Sorry. I have a metal one. Don't put mice in plastic cages. You can take a pet mouse it a plastic cage to a vet, but eventually the mouse will be able to cut through it. Would you make a video of a similar trap made of metal? You seem to be very good at making live traps. The door mechanism is good. It may be able to release a mouse some of the time, but I caught many mice with a similar trap made of metal, with only a top window covered with transparent plastic. I own three, as they are extremely good.
      Please do not place the bait too close to the walls though, as the mouse will be able to take some of it out through the holes with its small fingers and teeth, even if the walls are made of metal.

    Darn, i bought this one....good to know, possibly aluminum tape can save it...also I use motion alert cameras, so I could retrieve mice ASAP
    mouse x dehydrates mouse and in 12-13 hours it is dead, although rapidly trying to escape for 12 hours, with brief eating breaks...my preferred method IN THE live trap...
    I have dropped an inhabited live trap in a bucket of water when the mouse was caught in the winding mechanism...
