I picked up a couple soaps and aftershaves you absolutely must get your hands on. Mickey Lee Soapworks Pantie Dropper and the Barrister and Mann Leviathan..both just amazing
Thanks very much for the recommendations! I'm happy to post links for those interested (and I'm interested!).:) Mickey Lee Soapworks: mickeyleesoapworks.com/ mickeyleesoapworks.com/product/pantie-dropper/ Barrister and Mann Leviathan: www.barristerandmann.com/collections/new-products/products/leviathan-shaving-soap-fragrance-oil Note: Leviathan is a seasonal scent for Autumn and will be discontinued on December 31st.
Tabac is good stuff and I love the scent.:) Expect to pay about 15 bucks (with the bowl). you can sometimes find it on sale for a bit less. The refills are also a bit less, but I've purchased the entire refill and bowl. It's only a buck or two more than the refill alone. Plus, if you have some soap pucks that need a bowl, you've got an extra one.:)
Hi Mark- Very nice selection of soaps; thank you. This is a great series of videos that started with the razors and now the soaps. Will brushes be next? It would be great to see your collection! I hope your week is going well and all the best!
I am still fairly new to wet shaving, but I started out with Tabac and am really enjoying it ...very intrested in Lime sented soaps and trying out The Quiet Man soap and after shave combo ... Thanks for the video
Hej Mark, wet shaving can burn a large hole into one's purse, but as y explain there r way's around it. By the way the Prorato aftershave (green) i9s availablke in 400mL bottles, y can save abt 40% per mL. Cheers Achim+
A couple of different ways. This works well with lots of sopas: ua-cam.com/video/5BLaJ6qFUuw/v-deo.html This works best with glycerin soaps like Col Conk: ua-cam.com/video/5t1PdDziPso/v-deo.html
Colonel tonk is good stuff! Very affordable. And, it makes a lot of lather. Probably the best bang for the buck out there.:). And, a lot of really nice scents.:)
MARK, you make shaving look so handsome. Love you choice in soaps, I'm a huge tallow girl. Not on for the vegan stuff, I love the richness of the beef base. WWWS
Art of Shaving soaps are (in New England lingo) "wicked expensive." The Proraso cup fits nicely in one's hand; I really like their sandalwood. I used Crabtree and Evelyn's till they stopped making sandalwood.
Have you tried TOBS Sandalwood?
Really good video Mark, and excellent affordable soap selections. It's cool to be able to change things up without having to spend a lot.
Thanks, John.:) I did miss a few, but I guess that'll be another video down the road.:)

Hi, Mike.:) Yes, I've been leaning this way.:) We'll see.:)
Another great video. Thanks Mark!
Thanks, Eric Adams.:) My pleasure.:)

Tabac is great stuff!:) The Quiet Man's scent is very distinct and quite different from Tabac. But, I think you'll like it.:)
Great selection. Thnx for sharing.
My pleasure.:)
I have some of those soaps and you are accurate IMO, there are lots of great soaps and best of all affordable for the different budgets.
Thanks, Ron.:) Yes it's wonderful to see so many different choices. Possible proof that the traditional wet shave is gaining in popularity?:)
The van der Hagen soap was the first soap I ever bought I need to buy it again some people hate that soap
I love the stuff!:) It was the ideal soap for me when I came back to wet shaving.:) It really filled a need back then.:)

Achim, yes, one can get carried away.:) This is why I keep a lookout for deals and try to stock up when one comes along.:)
Yeah, its difficult to stop. When I see my 'stock', it can last for years to come... crazy.
Cool video thanks for the info!
how do you melt the soaps into the bowls? can you make a video showing that?
A couple of different ways.

Hi mark I have very sensitive skin, between Michael wool fat soap or Stirling soap which one would you recommend? Thanks
Stirling certainly lathers more easily. How sensitive is your skin? Is it sensitive to fragrances? Ingredients?
@@MarkSzorady my skin is not sensitive to ingredients or fragrance
I agree Van Der Hagen is a pretty good soap
It's not bad for someone just starting out. A good affordable choice.:)
Just shaved today with Col Conk Amber. Terrific stuff. Going to get that Lime too, as it sounds really good as well👍

the quiet man shaving soap is atribute to the same picture with john wayne and victor mclaglen 1952
Yes! One of my favorite John Wayne movies!:)
You don’t pronounce the ‘c’ in Tabac (tah-bah). Tabac= French for tobacco.
But it's a German soap.:) ua-cam.com/video/YxC5SwudKrM/v-deo.html

Thanks for the kind words. I agree. There is something unique about Tallow based shaving soaps.
