I avoided for a very long time this video because I kept thinking it'll be another sloppy diy job. In the end, seeing that YT kept propsing it... I watched it. I have to say that you approach to this is very professional and i admire what you've done. If I would have done it I would have done just two more things: - mount the BT board so that the LED is visible; - add cheap voltmeter to get an idea about battery status
Nice video, though a few points to add: 1) You need some sort of crossover/filter for the tweeter and full range speakers to do their job properly. You can get 2 way crossover kits relatively cheaply, or just use a capacitor on the tweeters to make them more suited to the treble frequencies. 2) Using laptop battery packs without checking the capacity remaining is like a game of chance. It may be good still (1500mAh+) or it might be very poor (
Watched this before, that is so awesome, can't even imagine what it feels like to make something so cool. One recommendation would be to add PVC fiber mesh (that is usually used for PC case fans as dust filters, very cheap on websites like Banggood) over the larger speakers to protect the membranes from damage, you can cut the mesh to the right size and make holes for the screws that you have holding the speakers already, there is basically no hassle. Actually, it can be done after all this. Cheers. EDIT: Since the membrane is protruding a bit, You could use small standoffs at the screws to raise the height of the mesh, just a few mm is enough.
Those speakers will make better noise if you put big cones on them. The pressure of air is making a turn backwards because the edge of the speaker is in the edge of the box. A cone like a trumpet. Probably a metal bowl of salad or something like that while in your room. You can take them apart for mobility. Very nice work, you inspired me to do something similar, if I do I'll return with results.
It has a hole, ported like what?. A crossover would help though. I have small powerful speakers and I covered the holes so the speaker wouldn't wobble.
Very nicely built. Just no wasted space and beautiful wiring job. Pity that it's not practical; I mean, you can't really take it outside, because the speakers have no grills to protect them. But still, love the video.
CREATIVE CHANNEL: NICE BUILD! but you have to make some research about the amps you use in your projects. this amp, in that impedance configuration will not work longer tan a few days, the loads for that amp, are: Applicable Speaker Impedance: 4/6/8/10 ohm. if you put those speakers with no Xover, just fixing those in paralel, you can reach 2 ohm, and damage the amp.(certainly more loud in exchange of your hardware life). the battery reciclyng are one of the most important things in a project like this, that is a very good point to show in the project. you can improve the sound quality making two ports instead of one port only, and made it from a 1/2 inch water pvc pipe, and fill the enclousure whit some polyfill or cotton. anyway, nice build.
Ren Draco hey, just read your comment,it is informative. I am planning to make one for me. Could you please suggest me all the parts. BTW I am expecting good bass performance
kinda loving the compact design, though i think a more fitting bass port could make it a ton better. just a basic measurement of the volume inside it, and a simple online calculator is needed for that. still really good, and compact design.
Well built but you should of used MDF wood as this is sound proof. Put dividers inside of box for larger speakers as mix wave vibrations can cause sound distortion.
the volume of air the bigger side drivers push is waaay to much for that port to handle and its pushing out the small middle drivers. then again if the bigger drivers had a sealed space of their own the space would be to small for the driver to do any work either. so prob just fine tune the ports/ add ports
MDF is not sound proof, quite the opposite. Many years back i made speaker housing from MDF it was way boomy and not sounding good. Might be a good idea to line the box with some foam or old carpet to dampen out the resonance. Tell me im wrong.

u cykablyat he connected 2 speakers with impedance of 4 ohms in parallel so you get impedance of 2 ohms using this equation: R(at the end)=(R1xR2)/(R1+R2)
cool. Only thing is i wouldn't of left it bare wood as it's something you would handle and will absorb oils from your skin and in time will start looking dirty and nasty. I would of stained it and then gave it a coat of 2 part epoxy so it would have a good strong coating.
Esta muí bueno pero veo que conectaste en paralelo los altavoces grandes con esos pequeños, no lo recomiendo, mejor seria colocar un capacitor en serie a los altavoces pequeños para que solo reproduzcan brillos.
2 (or more) resistances, wired in parallel are solved in this way: R = (r1*r2) / (r1+r2) or R = 1 / ( 1/r1 + 1/r2 + ... 1/rn) So, anyway: R = (4*4)/(4+4) = 16/8 = 2 Ohm or R = 1 / ( 1/4 + 1/4 ) = 1 / (2/4) = 2 Ohm The resultant resistance between 2 of equal value, is the half of one of the values.
