    I had nothing but trouble out of my Polaris ranger. Broke bed shock, broke the gear selector in half, 2 clutches, 2 drive belts, 2 cv boots, all in a year and a half of use. That’s why I went to can am. I’ve had nothing but great service out of my new defender so far. Very happy with can am.

    everything from Can am is 3 times the money! I wanna be able to build my own boxes and storage places.

    If only I could get the Ranger's exterior styling with the can-am's interior and drive train... Love the look of the new Ranger.

    I hear a lot of people say their can-ams are better. I don’t know. Where we live in Tennessee I’ve never seen one. My 2009 Ranger 700 XP has been abused with dragging heavy downed trees and it’s been rolled three times. It’s never failed to start and never been repaired. It’s only got 1200 miles and 400 hours almost all on my 10 acres and maybe 5 runs to the store about 5 miles away. I’ve only trailered it twice. Once because I couldn’t get the drain plug loose for the first oil change and another for new tires. I’ve done all the rest of the maintenance myself.

    I've owned both and I will tell you I prefer the can am but it is louder and rougher then the polaris but I was tired of replacing bushings, shocks, drive lines, u-joints etc. on the polaris. I have had to replace 2 front shocks on the can am but that's it and I have about 4500 miles on it now. The polaris just doesn't hold up over time. I run 500 cows so use them a lot every day. I know what I'm talking about. I wish they would put me on the design team as I have so many other ideas. Also the door handles if you have the full cab, as I do on both, suck on the can am.

      Good to hear from someone with experience? Is the Can-Am your preference for a utility UTV in general?

    • @zfilmmaker
      @zfilmmaker 6 років тому +1

      Troy Hallagin 100% agree! I bought Polaris for a while and always had to replace something. I’m now on my 2nd Defender and it’s a far better machine. Much more reliable, rides and handles better.

    I’ve got a 2019 Defender XT Cab / HD10 and love it. However, it can’t do an on-the-fly 4x4 switch while the Ranger (another machine I love) certainly can. I’m ok with it, but wouldn’t mind seeing CanAm add this feature. As for speed - sheesh! - both machines scare the pants off me. Top speed - no way. They are both rocket ships. My brother runs the Ranger and feels the same way. Both are awesome.

      Are Polaris reliable? I’ve seen some negative stuff, but then again that’s mostly from people that don’t even own them.

    I almost went with the Honda Pioneer 1000 but spoke to a man who has on in for oil change. He told me it's hot in the cab, and there's a hole under the wheel well made by factory that lets in tons of dust . He blocks it with a plastic bag. That would bug the heck out of me. I'm a Honda guy too, and was so disappointed to speak to him. Plus the trouble Honda had with the transmission.

      Pedro La Guardia I’ve got a Defender XMR and I’ll be honest the defender is insanely quite. Going 30-40 I can talk normal to my buddy beside me. Versus the Mavericks and commanders are insanely loud can’t hear each other. I know I didn’t speak for the ranger but I have no experience with ranger as far as noise

    Your comparing still old school ranger. Compare it to a general. General vs defender. Ranger and commander are in same class

    • @radioactiveload
      @radioactiveload 6 років тому +7

      completely disagree. these are the two work oriented machines. polaris general would go up against a commander.

    • @seabass22
      @seabass22 6 років тому +9

      No. Ranger and defender are in the same class. Commander and General are the cross overs.

      Trapper 62 Depends really, not sure if you've driven all three or not but the Honda felt meh to me. I'm about to get a side by side now and I've now driven all of them, the Honda left me least impressed to be honest. I guess they have the reliability aspect going for them but that's not enough to sway me, not enough configurations or aftermarket support. I did like the flip up seats though.

      Trapper 62 honda rides like shit and are straight ugly and fat.
      Edit: thats why i went to can-am maverick 1000r

    • @solobushman
      @solobushman 6 років тому

      William Stewart reliability is #1 for me. Not into speed. 40 kh is lots for me. I don’t like the idea of walking several miles if I break down. That’s not to say they won’t break down but I like my odds with a honda. So the ride and speed are not factors in my buying.

    • @solobushman
      @solobushman 6 років тому

      CrazyAmazingHD that’s a good machine you got but it’s not one for me. Don’t need all that power. Reliability is for me
