I started out watching UA-cam videos to learn, and Jasons were on the list. Went right back to the start with them. Pretty solid info from a legit guy.
Great videos/podcast Jim, as someone who's completed their first feature, and is heading from festival run into distribution, this kind of straight advice is invaluable. Thank you! Hope the channel grows and grows.
Hi - thank you for your kind words - really pleased it's helping + just watched the trailer it it looks FAB - the Ghostwatch vibes are giving my PTSD from childhood!! Great work - keep us posted on the film!
You, good sir, just got yourself a subscriber from someone who doesn't social media often or well. Really good stuff. The way things continue to shift in the industry has been fascinating. Appreciate Jason's insight into his process and methods.
Yes - shows are a great way to make ££ on Film Hub and I have heard people say the platform is leaning toward them - one reason might be that they have the potential for longer viewer retention - since you want to watch the next episode - which then leads to better Ad viewing figures.
The moment a filmmaker stops giving people what they already need and starts creating something people never knew they needed he or she will be a billionaire.
Will get Jason back on! There's a good chat I had with Rosa specifically about marketing features ua-cam.com/video/NTL3mdtEBpY/v-deo.htmlsi=lqe38-fxHUCER0cQ
@@thehonestfilmmaker yes, as you can tell from my UA-cam name :). new feature screening on UA-cam. that's the 6th feature, 11th film overall. have screened my movies at theaters in NYC, Chicago, MD/DC, Seattle. 3 features up at my account.
They won’t reject, but their QC team might delete the bloopers without asking you. We’ve had a few scenes (especially mid or post credit scenes) cut by their QC teams.
Great interview. I appreciate how you let the interviewee talk without interruption
Thank you - best let Jason share the knowledge!

Jason is saying a lot of the things I've experienced as a producer working in the no budget area
He's got some great advice in this area!
Big thumbs up. Great insights from Jason.
Agreed !
Jason has such rare helpful insights.
Amen!
Great interview, Question Does this information applies to shows as well?

Does anyone know the names of the "beach movie comedies" he mentioned? (Asking for a friend).

He missed a huge opportunity to ask you about marketing.

@@thehonestfilmmaker thought I replied to this one, perhaps it did not get sent. yes - around 10 films now, several fiction features.
@@NYCIndieFilmmakerSujewa great stuff - just subscribed!
@@thehonestfilmmaker thanks!
I need to speak to Jason! I'm a documentary/unscripted creator.
He's very active on Facebook - if you are not on it already - this is a great place to pose questions facebook.com/groups/thejhorton
Will filmhub reject a film that has bloopers after the end credits?
Good question - leave it with me

@@wonderwildweird Thanks. I decided to just run the credits over the bloopers, and just squash the issue :) LoL. It passed their QC!
@@lookalike6270 Great! What’s the name of the show? I’ll give it a watch
@@wonderwildweird thanks for the insight 👍
This guy is a great smoke seller and in his group he is a dictator. They cannot criticize him.
I'm sorry to hear you say that - I've always found Jason generous with advice both on and off social media
34:34 Teen comedies for $5,000? I'll believe that when I see it.... titles please. (looking to hire someone so get your friend a job here 😉 )
