C'est rare de trouver un artiste chanteur francophone qui propose de l'art partout, dans ses paroles, sa mélodie, ses mouvements, son environnement. Un grand respect pour cette dame!

Cette chanson raconte le soir ou Christine est témoin d'une scène dans un bus parisien : un garçon, avec des problèmes psychologiques ou peut-être sous drogue, est la cible d'autres passagers du bus, qui se moquent de lui, se foutent de sa gueule..

En lisant certains commentaires, j'ai pris peur, et je me devais de réagir. PERSONNELLEMENT, je pense qu'il faut arrêter avec cette "hiérarchisation" de la musique. Ecouter Christine and the Queens est-il mieux que d'écouter Black M ou je ne sais quel autre artiste français critiqué à outrance dans les commentaires de cette vidéo? Pourquoi? Dois-je rappeler qu'écouter de la musique est principalement un loisir, donc un moyen de se distraire ou de se faire plaisir notamment? Si vous n'aimez pas ce qu'un artiste produit soit, mais la musique de votre idole n'est pas "meilleure" que la sienne. Ecouter Christine and the Queens ne vous rends pas supérieur à un grand fan de Black M, pour garder le même exemple. Arrêtez avec cette mentalité fermée d'esprit, ça donne l'impression que vous voulez prouver quelque chose, comme une sorte d'intelligence supérieure à celle des bas-gens français, cette populasse dont vous ne faîtes heureusement pas partie! Vous n'avez pas le "bon goût universel"! Pour moi cela vous donne l'air aigri, voulant vous affirmer à tout prix que vous êtes mieux que les autres. Elle dit dans le refrain "this is my station". Donc elle est dans un metro ou un bus ( à Londres ) avec quelqu'un en face, à côté , derrière on sait pas, qu'elle connait ou pas. Et à qui elle parle dans la chanson. Ce qui est beau et délicat c'est qu'elle a ressenti quelque chose de fort pour cette personne à qui elle dit d'ailleurs " if you say just one word i stay with you" : dis juste un mot et je reste avec toi. On peut aussi y voir le sentiment de solitude qu'elle ressent car à la fin elle dit " we're so lonely". Pour ma part, je dirais qu'elle ne connait pas cette personne. Je trouve ça très beau et très créatif.
Elle a écrit cette chanson pour s'excuser de ne pas être intervenue lors d'un de ses voyages en bus à Paris, dans le Marais. Dans le bus se trouvait une personne habillé de façon très originale dont le bus se moquait ouvertement. Elle fut prise de remords et descendit à la station Saint-Claude, et s'en voulant de ne pas l'avoir défendu, elle écrit cette chanson qui explique qu'elle aurait voulu le défendre.
C'est une chanson écrite en faveur de la théorie du genre. Une personne androgyne dont on se serait moquée dans le bus. Une pure invention. Surtout dans le Marais où évidemment on ne se moque pas des androgynes ! Bref de la propagande. Très belle chanson cependant.
Même des années après je ne me lasse pas de ces chansons tellement de talent !! une VRAIE artiste, unique, captivante elle vit ce qu elle interprète et degage tellement d emotions... Elle me donne les frissons a chaque fois je suis vraiment fan de Christine ❤️

« Saint Claude » refers to a bus station in Paris. During an interview she mentioned being in a bus. In the bus was a young oddball man speaking alone at loud. She did not know if he was on drug or just sad but he was a bit apart. Another guy start making fun of the first man and she then assisted to a collective mocking scene which shocked her. She was so upset that she stopped at the Saint Claude station. She later found herself coward and desperately sad for the man and wrote a love song for this man. the lyrics describe what the city offers and draw a portrait of the man in contrast.

stephen10 actually the current meaning of that song comes from a story she faced. She was in a bus and yes there was a guy with a tattoo on his arm but only half of it. And all the bus was mocking him because of it. She didn't help him and she felt guilty about this. Thus, when she went back home she started to write that song
