CLIP DESCRIPTION:
A room service man tries to assassinate Leo (Joe Pesci), but Riggs (Mel Gibson) tackles him out the window.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Lethal Weapon 2 re-teams Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as, respectively, "loose cannon" L.A. detective Martin Riggs and his partner, the cautious family man Roger Murtaugh. The villain this time is a South African diplomat (Joss Ackland) who doubles as a drug dealer. Though Riggs knows what's going on thanks to characterless character witness Joe Pesci, he can't touch the villain because of "diplomatic immunity." After perils too numerous to mention, Riggs and Murtaugh shoot it out with the heavies on the deck of a South African cargo ship. Lethal Weapon 2, of course, contains as one of its comic high-points a now famous suspense scene: Mel Gibson agonizingly attempting to extricate a terrified Danny Glover from a booby-trapped toilet seat. Director Richard Donner, Gibson, Glover, and Joe Pesci would be reunited three years later for Lethal Weapon 3 and in 1998 for Lethal Weapon 4.
CREDITS:
TM & © Warner Bros. (1989)
Cast: Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci
Director: Richard Donner
Producers: Richard Donner, Peter Frankfurt, Jennie Lew Tugend, Steve Perry, Joel Silver
Screenwriters: Jeffrey Boam, Warren Murphy, Shane Black

Joe Pesce is such an incredible actor to go from a terrifying mob killer to Leo Getz.
Then to Harry
Right he has played mobsters that can kill you in front of people and continue with life
Then there is Leo Getz you take one quick look at him and be like “I can take him”
Yeah, Pesci has played a good variety of characters,
Ruthless mobster
Dimwitted burglar
Obnoxious but worldly homeless guy
Dim but with a smart side lawyer
Leo Getz
I'm sure most of you can figure out each movie to them
I always laugh so hard as Riggs beats up poor Leo on accident.
In what movie ia he a mobb? I have to see it
1989 Pesci plays this really talkative, naive and distracted character...
1990, he plays Tommy DeVito in GoodFellas, a really mean character, a killer, a thief. He's such a great actor!
Then later in 1990 he plays a dumb criminal in Home Alone
1995- he plays a character that is Tommy Devito cranked up to 11
He won an Oscar for Good fellas, Pesci is an amazing actor! Also don't forget his Oscar Nominated Performance in Raging Bull, he was Incredible in that as well.
@@dylanfahy1183
And comes back again as Russ Bufalino :)
Yony Gut1 Not only that, he’s dabbled in music too. He knew Frankie Valli (then Francesco Castelluccio) and introduced him to a couple other musicians and which led to the establishment of the Four Seasons band.
R.I.P Richard Donner, the director of Lethal Weapon films.
the chemistry between these guys is amazing.
The scene in the dentist office in LW4 with the three of them and chris rock is one of my favorites. They really did have great chemistry, I just wish they had more scenes together
Larry curly and moe.
OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY
uhkay uhkay uhkay uhkay!!
John Wagner whatever whatever
Talk to the hand
LEO WILL U SHUT THE F**K UP 😂😂
Shut up 😂😂😂
“Leo Getz. Anything you want Leo gets...” I love that line.
I'm glad they got Joe Pesci involved in these movies. He made it even more funnier. One of my favorite actors.
I prefer parts 2-4. The first one is so dull and dark.
@@Gurra88 the 1st one has to be dark
1 year later Joe is in Goodfellas and Home Alone.
What do you mean funnier? You mean he amuses you?
Funnier HOW?
"Betcha' the kid's got an automatic... yup, there it is - a Beretta!" /SMACK/
Dan Mowry watching this 2nite 😂
Dont touch
Semi-automatic. Hollywood always puts out false information.
fordsrule35 Uh no, automatic means self loading. He didn’t say “Fully automatic” he said “Automatic.” He was talking about how their using pistols instead of revolvers.
How awesome is it that he slaps Pesci and gets away with it 🤣
I wish action films were this awesome today.
Leo (Joe Pesci) is surprisingly good at self defense, since he saw that gun and grabbed it pretty quickly. I'm impressed.
Basketball Man casino?
@@probablymelgibson2344 and goodfellas
look like it took him a second or two to grab it tho
⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚
Yeah, he did this technique learned from years of being surprisingly good at self defense called 'don't get killed'. It's based off of Indonesian martial arts, you should look into it.
a movie ages well when it simply doesn't age. at all. ever.
this obviously aged
Obviously an 80s movie but also a very good one.
@@plus_signperhaps he meant it is a "timeless classic"
A little bit of movie trivia, at about 2:46 to 2:50 you can see Diehard's Nakatomi Plaza in the background.
Good stuff dude.
I thought it looked familiar but I wasn't 100%.
they renovated it nicely after all that KA-BOOOM.
and Riggs and friends made a great Hans Gruber Memorial Jump here
Nice catch bro I watched this movie so many times and I never noticed that
Nice!
The fact Joe Pesci based his performance as Leo on Disney employees makes me love this franchise even more. 😄
Joe Pesci really is a funny guy in this movie.
Funny how?
Like a clown? Does he amuse you?
Okay okay okay okay..
This is what I was hoping to find
Before his passing, Donner asked Mel Gibson to direct another Lethal Weapon installment.
"Anything you need Leo Getz"
2:08 Say what you will about Leo but he managed to restrain that gun before Riggs and Murtaugh seen it.
"Whatever you need, Leo Getz."
"Bad cop, good cop right?"
"Shut up!"
"Okay okay okay. Bad cop,bad cop. I got it."
Joe Pesci = most underrated actor ever
Mike Reed
Underrated how?
He was very well known?
UNDERRATED !?!?! he is an Academy Award winner
Pesci? A total annoying arsehole.
Ummmmm what??? Everyone knows he’s a great actor what people actually don’t know is he’s an amazing musician
@K A Jou can not compare Pesci with Brando,Niro and Pacino
I dunno how Gibson and Glover could keep from laughing whenever Pesci started talking. Donner really had a gift for directing comedy.
I felt so bad for Leo. He's done so much for Riggs and Rojer but they were treating him like dirt for many movies.
They love leo tho he became like part of the family
@@verdellcouncil6616not taking all the mistreating away.
Are you a zoomer?
He was riggs best man
Riggs and Roger realized by #4, he was a true blue friend they didn't know that they had.
Danny Glover face expression as mel gibson goes out the window.
willie broadnex
Is much better at 1:13
XD
The one role Joe Pesci has played that didn’t intimidate people.
@Elitedevil Also My Cousin Vinny
home alone lol
Yeah, he's a very unimtimidating annoying little bug as Leo, very different from his dangerous threatening character in Casino
@@jimjones4838 nah, he kinda intimidate Marv because Marv is a lot stupider than Harry which annoys Harry a lot 😂
He was funny like a clown in this one.
Joe Pesci is one of the best actors of all time. No one does Harry Lime, Vinny Gambini, and Leo Getz better than him.
How you not gonna mention Tommy DeVito? His most iconic role lol.
Harry Lime? In all these years, I never knew that Lime was Harry's last name in Home Alone
When you combine the Three Stooges and heavy metal, you get these guys.
I can see why Danny and Mel said The most fun they had doing lethal weapon was making the second one
Did anyone else notice the Nakatomi Plaza aka Fox Plaza in the background at 2:15
Awesome little nod to Die Hard there.
"All I did was launder half a billion dollars in drug money, okay?! ...Give or take a few! Who could count with that much money!"
Leo actually saved their asses in this scene. The cops shouldn't have let the room service guy into the room without checking him more carefully. Leo grabbed the pistol, or all three of them could be dead, depending on the shooter's skill.
That’s true, but in all fairness they were expecting this to be a very low key job. They weren’t properly briefed on who Leo was. Yes, the captain promised the feds his best, but even he saw this assignment as a break for them given the home invasion Roger had gone through.
They didn't like him due to what they're boss told them.
One of my favorite movie stunts.
Riggs: “Are you my partner or what? Why didn’t you follow me down?”
Leo: YEAH, why didn’t you follow him down?!
Roger: SHUT UP! IT’S SEVEN FLOORS UP!
Leo inadvertently saved Murtaugh. He made him miss the poker game. He wouldn't have been so lucky if he'd been there.
🤯
1:14 i love the deadpan look on mel's face in this scene, gets me laughing every time
“You my partner or not? Why didn’t you follow me down?” Classic Murtaug and Riggs.
Lethal weapon 3 has some of the best background music out of any any movie I have scene, I mean they did such a great job with fitting in just the perfect music with the scenes.
this is lethal weapon 2 you dumbass.
martin roger & leo the a perfect trio in lethal weapon franchise
Leo really was Riggs' guardian angel
It's amazing how versatile Joe is.
2:15 Hey look, it's the building from Die Hard.
Loved all the lethal weapon movies, Joe pesci, Mel gibson, Danny glover, great cast for an awesome action flicks during the 90's 👌
ok ok ok ok ok ok lmfao, i love Leo
calm, Joe Pesci said he got that from Disneyland because when he would ask where one of the shows was, the Disney person would say, uh ok ok, you go, ok ok, uh ok go here ok.
Joe Pesci is like a white Kevin Hart.
Bryce Lowe In Lethal Weapon yes. In other movies, Hart would run like hell from Pesci!
Haha, true. I just meant in this clip.
Although, I can %100 see Hart doing a "funny how?" set.
Bryce Lowe I find it very funny the way leo hackles both Martin &Roger with his unusual sense of humor just to rib them a little 🐱🐯👅👏😺😸😆😅😄🤗Rhonda Bienes
Bryce Lowe Joe is actually Italian
lol Kevin Hart is probably the black Joe Pesci
I can't take them seriously as slapping around Pesci, every moment I keep expecting him to drop the act and strangle them both with his bare hands while screaming "you muddafucka you"
Who slaps Joe and gets away with it?
The amazing acting on Joe’s part was pretending that he wasnt going to kill both them after filming 😅this scene…
I bet they overcooked that burger. But my favorite thing about Leo Getz and it’s not because he is Joe Pesci. I just love it whenever he says “ok ok ok ok ok!”.
1:15 Riggs looks, it's scary..lol
It's the typical angry and serious Mel Gibson look.
I can see they repaired nakatomi plaza in the background 😆
They were still building it when Die hard happened
They should have just used the code word “shinebox” and you would have seen a different Pesci. 😂
i don't do shoe shines no more
but since this came out in 89' a year before goodfellas, no one would have a clue til later lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😅…..😬
I found it hilarious how he was just punching Joe in the pool LMFAO
you can say many things about Leo but shit, that guy always finds the way to survive close contact with a gunman lol
I will never stop laughing hard every time Leo grabs Riggs' face and says "loosen up a bit, you guys!"
To me it’s when Murtaugh says shut up after Riggs said shut up and when Riggs slapped him after he already got his wrist twisted by Murtaugh 😂
"Shut Up I was Seven Floors Up" Hahahahahahaha and RIP Richard Donner The Director of The 4 Lethal Weapon Movies!
"After I shoot you through the door you can examine the bullet open up"....
Pesci was 46 years old in 1989
He is 77 now
The way Riggs slaps Leo. First time seeing this clip, very funny
Riggs fell from heights in each movie
I love the lethal weapon franchise
I love when he says “Okay, Okay, Okay, Okay”
He forget his shinebox
Joe was comedy gold in this scene and every other. Wow.
2:47
Is that the Fox Plaza (Nakatomi Plaza) from Die Hard in the background?
Yup a lot of falling out windows in that part of town
Dammit we know!
Garet McKenna *Die Hard-Lethal Weapon MULTIVERSE* CONFIRMED
Patrick Oliver hey maybe some stock broker got depressed? 😂
Leo fights back with the gunman LOL 😂
When Riggs slapped Leo.....LMAO
If there wasn't a pool there, this scene would have gone very differently...
Well deserved Oscar Joe. What an actor this dude is. Iam so glad he recieved an oscar two years after this for Godfellas and didnt go underrated.
Pesci is just as incredible in comedy as in mob movies....the super and home alone.
Take a shot every time Leo says “okay”
People die doing that.
Pesci rarely smiles in movies when he does its gold
Home Alone. Literally.
Your my partner why didn’t you follow me down. Shut up I was seven floors up lol
Lethal weapon series is my favorite buddy cop movie series. They are all fantastic, yes even the 4th one. The 2nd one is my favorite, then 3, 1, and 4. I love all 4 films a lot though. These three are all fantastic actors and they are what makes these movies the best.
Who cannot wait to find out for lethal weapon 5?
My favorite Action series, I love the entire collection so much I own the special edition DVD box set! My crazy wish/dream is to see a Lethal Weapon 5 with the same old cast!
I like Murtaugh's voice when he introduces himself and Riggs to Leo - it sounds really unfriendly ;-)
LOLOL RIGGS - Gun GRAHHHHH dives into the food and out the window LMAO
2:35 he is hitting the wrong guy :D hahah
Leo even gets his shinebox before wasting Billy Batts.
Realistically falling from that height would still kill them. They still would sink low enough to hit the bottom of the pool.
Leo Getz... whatever you needs LEO GETZ!
Joe pesci one of the best actors ever he does his job and roles so well still going strong after all these years later appreciate you and the memories you guys rock thanks ! Joe
1989: Pesci plays an extroverted and child-like character
literally a year later: *I'M THE OKLAHOMA KID, DANCE YOU MOTHER-*
The legend has it that Leo is still saying Okay
Wasn't that the fox plaza/nakatomi plaza building in the background?
I loved the part of the scene from 2:07 - 2:28 when Riggs when for the gun in which him, Getz and the assassin to go through the window seven floors up and fell into the swimming pool......🤣🤣🤣
Why it is funny ?
@@lexkanyima2195 ..... how the whole sequence went and all 3 were screaming as they were falling into the pool with the sax playing in the background. I thought the whole thing was funny.....😆
@@jeffreyworthen7033 ohh ok. This is a equivalent of the first one.
0:54 😄
Why didn't you follow me down.....I'm seven floors up.....LOL :-)
David Sanborns signature Saxophone all over these Lethal weapon soundtracks. R.I.P.
The 80’s and 90’s where sequels can meet and/or surpass previous ones with being so good. Like The Terminator to T2.
He was such a great addition to this sequel and franchise 😂😂😂
The smack to the face was hilarious 😂
Shut up! I'm seven floors up!
He hit me!
@@awest182 Good!
lmao. joe pesci is funny
Funny how?
Spectans1 Well, you know... how he tells the jokes...
just the way he is , ok ill give you an example at the 117 mark the way he say ok ok
jet07son You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but he's funny how, I mean funny like he's a clown, he amuse you? he make you laugh, he's here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How is he funny?
tkach21 Just...the way he tells the jokes...
I really like how Joe Pesci brought a sense of humor, intelligence and pride to his role as Leo Getz. He is really a good man caught up in violent affairs with druggets and traffickers. They don't give him the credit he deserves for helping them them in the questionable sequels like 3 and 4, which were good but never hold a candle to this second film. He had the charm and likable nature to make him a true diamond in the ruff and an an amazing actor to elude such courage, humor and dignity to a role that would have been lost in some other actor.
I totally agree with all that you said. And he was something here as Leo Getz.
And Leo laundered half a billion dollars? I'm surprised that all that happened was one hitman posed as a room service waiter tried to pull a gun on him and pop him
"You're my partner or what, why didn't you follow me down"
🤣🤣🤣
2:16 Without the scream by Joe Pesci, the fall is somewhat scary. With the scream, it's hilarious.
Greatest and funniest police film ever!
You can see how much of an influence the 3 Stooges were on this movie.
Pesci is so good. He plays a little wimpy ditz then a year later the terrifying cold blooded sociopath tommy in goodfellas. I remember after he won the academy award for goodfellas pesci was in a bunch of movies. My cousin vinny was great, the super not so much .
Leo is so funny
2:13 "MARTIN NOT THE WINDOW NO!!!"
Riggs flies out window with Getz and bad guy.
2:18: "OHHH SHIT!"
rare footage of Harry before he was a robber.
Lethal Weapon 2 was the best in the series. I enjoyed all of them but this is the best film in the franchise.
It was but this isn't 2, is it? No sign of the delightful Patsy Kensit.
"After I shoot ya through the door you can examine the bullet! Open up!"
Saw this flick 7 times the summer it came out. We were all laughing ourselves to tears over it.
🤣
