I love a red lip and today I came up with the BEST hack. I'm definitely not the first person to ever do this but I lined my lips with a liquid matt lipstick on an angle brush and used a cream bullet lipstick to fill in the rest. It worked really, really well.

A happy medium between showing available products vs shopping your stash would be to try to find similar shades! You could wear a fun colour to Sephora and make it your mission to find a similar colour/swatch a few to find similars! That way you’re using your old favs but finding fun alternatives for followers
I think it’s great to encourage us to shop our stash. Many of us also have tons of lip products that we’ve forgotten about that we should go through and use!

First up I want to second everyone who’s already said they love love love this bid for sustainability when it comes to the fashion and beauty items we already own and seeing someone try to make a genuine effort to showcase that is amazing. I’m definitely the person who has a giant makeup kit that’s kind of turned into a sad graveyard for products because one time I loved a product or wanted to use that product for a specific set of looks but could only buy it in one size and that size ends up being too big and too much. I think there’s definitely something to be said about brands that make travel/smaller sized version of their items or like with Sephora if you try something and don’t love it or it doesn’t work for you, you can return or exchange it, which is amazing! (Really helps when you are looking for just the right product) A note about the followers/people getting made in the DMs. It’s definitely been my experience where someone is wearing a beautiful product in a video and I’m like ooh yes I want to add that to my life and turns out the product for example, the lip products Allana has been mentioning, that because I have a different undertone or skin tone or base lip colour, etc etc etc whatever the endless possible of reason there might be. I actually can’t always pick the exact product shown and I have found that instead of getting mad (because really where is this gonna get you…) at the person on UA-cam just living their life and sharing said life with us, I change my mindset and choose to take inspiration instead. Like for that beautiful orange-y red shade Allana is wearing, Sephora with all their lovely brands and price ranges have multiple alternatives in existence and I think it’s better to find the one that fits best on your person, because than the makeup look ends looking more authentic too ✌️✌️✌️ Anyways that’s just my rambly take in it.

Ok my biggest thing is the size of products! I have some gorgeous makeup but since I don’t use everything daily, I’ve had some things for yearssss. I wish brands offered minis for their a majority of their products. I end up sticking with what I know because it’s not worth having fun and experimenting if I’m spending $60 on a full size blush I know I’ll only use sparingly and just have to throw out after a year because it gets moldy.

I genuinely loved it on you and thought it would encourage you to keep with whole "use more bright lip colours" goal you set for yourself for this year. :)

Ok my biggest thing is the size of products! I have some gorgeous makeup but since I don’t use everything daily, I’ve had some things for yearssss. I wish brands offered minis for their a majority of their products. I end up sticking with what I know because it’s not worth having fun and experimenting if I’m spending $60 on a full size blush I know I’ll only use sparingly and just have to throw out after a year because it gets moldy.
