    I am using MP 2007 and have not used the program in years. I want to save an old file and use the information but need to change the start date. I have done so under Project Information, but the dates within the file won't change accordingly. What am I missing?

    • @Prof_C

      I am not sure on that one. It maybe an issue with how it tracks time. I know that there have been updates in the past 13 years to deals with the the Year 2038 problem. Perhaps download a trial version of the current version and try to change there if this is just a one-off project.

    At the end of the video, you change the calendar of the project to 'Scott Great Calendar', however the Gantt chart does not shade the new nonworking days. (Tuesdays and Thursdays.)

    How do you delete the second shift of the working times?

    • @Prof_C
      @Prof_C  3 роки тому

      By changing working times and deleting that slot, but MSproject can be hard to use and it is hard to get it to select the line for deletion. You might want to create a new calendar instead.

    How do I create 7 day work weeks?

    • @Prof_C
      @Prof_C  2 роки тому

      You can copy the standard calendar and then just delete the weekends. Also remember that you can give a task a duration in edays or eweeks, which will then span the weekends.

      @@Prof_C I am able to schedule a 7 day work week, but finish date does not match the duration, the finish date now comes much sooner. Can I call you somehow? I really need to have this schedule set up, it's for work. I'm desperate!

      @@Prof_C I'll send you the file, thank you so much! I almost have it by the way, now my finish dates are landing 1 day shorter before they should. Why do you think that is? I set all the days of the week to standard work hours (8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm)

    what if I work for 2 days on one single task, after which I take 1/2 day off how will I put that in calendar?

    Is it possible to use 2 different calendars for the same project? The standard for back end activities and a 6 day, 8 to 5 for construction work?

    • @Prof_C
      @Prof_C  4 роки тому

      Yes, you can have several different calendars and then apply them to either resources or activities. For example, you might apply the 24hour calendar to a pump resource that can work 24 hours a day, etc.

    • @Prof_C
      @Prof_C  3 роки тому

      If you want to do that at the task level, you will need to add a lag to the end of your task of 4 hours (.5 days) (this would be added to the start of any succeeding tasks). While you can assign a specific calendar to the task, that will not really help.
