- In today's video you'll learn how to take a simple drum groove and fill it out using dub delay textures. I'll illustrate 2 different methods - one using a synth and another one using Ableton Live's Simpler. Enjoy! Grab this project here: bit.ly/415nXsY

Audio or MIDI, which one are you?
MIDI team apart from textures and loops lol, just coped your Synthesia preset pack with a day of delay missing the code sigh, do you have some solid drums for Melodic/Organic House??
@@gianlucamarchese DayDream pack?
@@mariopalermo7610 That’s what I was thinking as well, it seems the best one out of all the ones he released
@@gianlucamarchese Daydreamer is great for melodic house as well. Will definitely be creating some more melodic packs in the future ;)
@@gianlucamarchese i have that one and Azhar,i recommend them.
Dorian play the major scale in sequence starting from the 2nd degree ... eg Cmajor = DEFGABCD = D DORIAN. Phrygian play the major scale in sequence starting from the 3rd degree ...eg Cmajor = EFGABCDE = E PHRYGIAN. Modes are easy to understand, but take study to master. I point this out as your vids have been useful to me and I wanted to return the favour... following the above example you will find Lydian 4th degree, Mixolydian 5th degree, Aelion 6th degree (relative minor), Locrian 7th degree.
Cheers! Thanks so much for the in-depth explanation and for the kind words :)
That's the stuff I forgot when from when I was a kid that would be very useful becoming a better producer today
@@JimJuno if you think about the modes like this - if you play major C and then move to Aelion A play the ionian major C notes over your C chord and play the Aelion A over your A minor chord - so switching from Cmaj to relative Amin your melodies complement the music and fit snugly.... this is the most basic form of melodic composition using the modes.... there is so much more to it though involving modulation i.e. key changes...there are some great videos on youtube about modes and modulation check out signal studios jake lizzio is an excelenet tutor
Amazing mate…almost 8 years using Ableton and how did I miss the XY pad ?! Great work and thanks for sharing 🙌🏻
Cheers mate. Glad this video helped! :)
I really like the way you are presenting your videos; those small tips in between, the overall experience ... great! Also: It is really fun to see you flying through the deeps of the application with an ease and fast ... Thank you again for sharing your expertise 🙏
This is basically a way to manual way to recreate the Animoog Z with any synth with a delay... You just made me realise that it's just feedback and cutoff
amazing tips and tricks on this channel, really inspires me to try some of these out! Seems
like a great way to break out of a creative block.
Cheers mate, thank you!
Could have chosen a dub track to highlight the dub delay but it’s cool. I’m grateful to find the xypad 🎉
cool technique Kevin!😁
Hey Balint! Thanks :)
Very nice tips dude!!🙂 Thanks
You're very welcome!
Learned lots! Immediately liked and subbed. Thank you =)
Glad to hear that. Thanks! 😉
amazing technique thanks
Cheers! You're welcome.
Try to create some feedback with a return channel instead, you can send sound straight back to the aux itself or to a second channel process it and back to the first one. Cool thing with that is that you can get anything to feedback like that, not just delay
Amazing tip. Thx
Love your channel!! Thanks a lot!!
thanks
Awesome! Exactly what I've been after 👌🏻
cheers mate!
Another niceeeeee; thank you for sharing!
Awesome tip 👍

True! Love his style
Try Air Delay Pro...
Just recently found your channel and loving the tutorials. I'm running Live 11 and there doesn't appear to be a M4L XY Pad available, At least I can't find it. I looked on Ableton's site and didn't see it there. Apparently, it was included with Live 9. Any suggestions on where I can get the M4L XY Pad. It would be useful for Ableton devices. Thanks.
There’s already an XY pad built into the device. It’s the black window at the left side with the two menus under it where you can choose two parameters to assign to the pad. It’s been there since at least Live version 4 (the first one I bought). I’ve used that feature a lot.
Rad.
Cheers!
is there hardwar joystick that could control the xy pad ?maybe a eurorack module
I believe there are actual XY Controllers out there that allow you to MIDI map them into Ableton Live. Korg Chaos Pad is a cool one for example.
the cheapest midi controller or keyboard with 2 map-able knobs is all you need :) eurorack module is possibly the farest thing on earth you could ever need for such a thing
@@xxxxooorttt why's that ?? Intellijel joystick is a controller also which technically could do it although the long way round
When did we start saying cutoff parameter instead of just filter? 😵💫
