Thanks so much for this video! I couldn't understand my manual very well. Your machines were different than mine, but your video helped me to understand better.
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my brother these days =)
Ohh! What would I do without you? You are my go to person for every sewing need and problem I encounter. I never would have thought of the dissolving interfacing square (which I already had on hand) And I also would not have known that women’s buttons are on the left side and mens are on the right! Thank you as always for everything you do!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have done buttonholes as practice but never knew how to line up the stitch for a garment. After seeing this I am pretty confident. Keep up the good work!💕💕👏🏾👏🏾
One tip I have. Because some seam rippers are sharper than we expect or we are tend to push to hard. I makes put a straight pin on the one end....That way if I push too hard...I don't cut through the end of my buttonhole. and ruin it. Better to be safe than sorry...I teach this to all my students
Hi, love all your clips, really clear and easy to follow instructions. Can I suggest that when using the unpicker to cut buttonholes that you place a pin across the stitching at the end you're cutting towards, it'll prevent the unpicker slicing through the fabric and ruining the garment.
Thank you so much for demonstrating on both types of machines! I have a very basic machine and this video was perfection! Speaking of perfection, you're killin it with those red nails too! What polish is that? Thanks! Stay awesome :-D
Thanks for this. this was very helpful. Do you ever use place your button on the plastic button hole foot to help you decide the size of the buttonhole?
you can do that if you're doing your own project and the pattern doesn't tell you what size buttons to use and how big the buttonholes are. Or you can measure the button. For a simple flat button, I add about 1/8" to the diameter. But I always do a test buttonhole to test it because it can vary depending on the thickness of the button or if it's a shank button.
Thank you for this video..my sewing machine looks like your first one..but l've never used it before..the reason that i didnt..because i dont know how to sew shirts..lol
Usually, areas that are going to have a buttonhole are going to already be interfaced. If it's already interfaced and seems stiff enough, you can probably skip adding another stabilizer. If you're worried about that the fabric still might pucker and need stabilization (and you don't have any stabilizer on hand), you can use gift tissue paper. Place it on the wrong side though and then just tear it off when you finish. I wouldn't use interfacing, because it will be difficult to remove and you don't want to add extra permanent stabilization if your project doesn't need it.
Do you have this complete tutorial of shirt construction under premium membership because if you do I will like an upgrade membership. Please let me know thanks
Is there any creative way to make buttonholes with a very basic sewing machine? Because mine doesn't have options for varieties stich :( Mine only has a basic stitch just like ----- And stitch just like VVVVVV
+queengrebrz do you have a zigzag stitch? basically, the buttonhole stitch is the zigzag stitch that is compressed. You'll have to be able to adjust the stitch length to a small number, not zero but maybe .5ish. This is so that it looks like a small satin stitch. On the end of the buttonholes do the same but make the stitch width as long as it can be so that it forms like a bartack at the ends. I hope you can do it! :)
You are one of the most helpful sewing channels I've come across. Thank you for your time and dedication!

hi Tova. Can i use interfacing instead of using a stabiliser?

Please can you make a video on how to make/sew a collar for blazers

6:41 “my butthole foot looks like this on my other machine” 😂😅😢
Could you please tell me the brand and details of the stabilizer you used? :) I cannot find it
I just used Pellon. If you have a Joann's near you then they should always carry it. I think for this project I used a midweight interfacing
Thank you!

Helo .. What brand of machine you use
In this video I was using a Husqvarna. It's a really good machine but can be pricey
