    • @BongoboyUK
      @BongoboyUK  3 роки тому +1

      Indeed you did! I loved how the hembra sounded when tuned low, and equally how the quinto sounded tuned high! Plus the sound of having a pair of congas tuned in the same orientation as the bongos, with overlapping pitch is awesome and I love it - especially with these congas as they had such thin skins!

    Correct me:
    I think playing this is Easy.... for me only because I play drums since years and I have knowledge about beats and stuff.... the only thing I need to learn is to play the Bongo....
    And you play *Really GoOd*
    I mean ur beats are Smooth I say

    • @BongoboyUK
      @BongoboyUK  5 років тому +4

      Thanks very much! :D
      Yeah, having a sense of rhythm is key - I've played drums my whole life, so beats come easy to me.
      The main struggle with bongos is the technique hitting them.
      Now, I don't play in the most traditional way, but I know how to hit a bongo without hurting myself!
      I practiced for years just by hitting any surface infront of me (including school tables, which a few of my teachers didn't appreciate!), and eventually you get a feel for it.
      My main piece of advice - relax your hands ^_^

    • @BongoboyUK
      @BongoboyUK  8 років тому +3

      +rockinjon1 Thanks! These are actually my old congas - they have Toca goat skin heads.
      The ones on my new ones are a lot nicer - they're Meinl buffalo skin heads! They sound beautiful. Haven't had a chance to record a proper video with those yet though.
      You might need to try retuning them - but if that doesn't work, getting new skins. The only thing is, they're a pain to put on.
      Usually if you completely detune them and actually take them off and then put them back on it gives them a completely different sound.
