Is the roster really great if they aren't doing anything? Look at how they massacred Okada if you show someone who was a fan of his in NJPW and show him on aew I'd be a mind fuck.
The worst part is how Tony hasn’t acknowledged it or tried to get it back to its original popularity. AEW right now feels like TNA 2017. It exists but nobody cares
For me, Wrestling in 2024 has become a “niche” rather than trying to have broader mainstream appeal because there’s more focus solely on satisfying a hardcore fan. Everything is booked very safe.
One important step they could do to try reviving the company is hire an actual booker, who knows how to build storylines and use talent for more than a month
The current weekly gaslighting session with the MJF and Adam Cole storyline is probably the most annoyed I've been with wrestling in a while lol their storyline in 2023 was legit probably my favourite storyline in modern wrestling
Love Adam Cole but his lack of health has really hindered his post WWE run. I get he'll never look super jacked but he's becoming really fragile. His ankle injury wasn't even from a standard bump and it sidelined him over a year
I don't know. I don't think 2019 WWE is worse than Heroes of Wrestling but I do think a decent Wrestling show would still be a lot better than 2019 WWE.
Damn they were on average 900,000 to a mil every week just a few years back. Hope losing punk, having a horrible toxic fanbase that turns away new fans, and booking people for 2 weeks as a star and don't do anything with them for the rest of their contracts was worth it. Hope they get bought out by WWE
I also think my fandom for wrestling is also been fallen off, and it may be because off aew, cause since the company started in 2019 i have watched wrestling no stop, i think need a break, but it is hard to do because when i am not interested in the wwe, aew is doing good and vise versa. December used to perfect for a break but then AEW made the C2 and no way i stoping during that. Not a big problem, just sharing my experience. Nice video bro.

I feel like this isn’t the downfall of AEW but rather just growing pains. Think of all the great companies that had *that* era WWE had the Attitude era TNA had that late 2000’s-early 2010’s run WCW was a juggernaut from 95’-97’ NXT had the black and gold era from 2015-2019 And the focus on the topic, AEW had that 2019-2022 run All these companies had that era, but they also had that *other* era WWE from 2016-2019 NXT 2.0 in its first few months WCW in 2000 AEW right now So many examples of these companies having good and bad eras. It happens to all companies! AEW will have a golden era again, it only needs time.
2016 was a great year for wwe 2017 to 2019 nobody counts the pandemic era and 95 to 96 were bad years to. Aew has fallen so deep their is no bouncing back from this
You keep naming these lame wrestlers that have exposed themselves as goofs like I should be impressed. They all need to go to wwe to even mean anything
Tony Khan books like a kid with ADHD. His stories start and stop but then die somehow, as if we forgot what happened 6 months ago. I have been with them from the start and I still watch WWE when I can fit it in. AEW needs a real creative team, with a real booker because the characters/athletes/performers are world class.
@ I think he has made his own stars. MJF, Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland (who I know was a wwe guy but he was barely an enhancement talent and now he is a star), Maria May, Will Ospreay has elevated to super star status since AEW. Point being there is a lot of great talent and stars but the start and stop booking is killing there momentum. There is no pay offs for these stories. Great matches sure but there is no reasoning for many of these matches. Be different than WWE sure but make it at least make sense to have these matches.
9:00 Uh, considering that Cole is now separated from Britt and is part easily one of the worst storylines with MJF and his on-and-off stable rn, yeah I think this is point is debatable.
Vince getting the boot and HHH taking over was when AEW heard boss music, worse thing to happen to AEW and the best thing to happen to WWE in over a decade
I hope they’re finally starting to fix the problems they have. since all out was over not every episode has been perfect but there has been a lot of good stories going on and solid tv. no one beats them in terms of ppv quality they just need to figure out how to transition that to weekly tv
AEW... IS WHERE... THE WRESTLE On a serious note though, if WWE transfer to netflix and are able to start to get a little more extreme and edgy, it could run AEW outta town. Purely cus I think that is what AWE have going for them, it's more mature, and they have the talent to do so. I still wish these companies would collab and we get the forbidden door dream matches so many of us want
To me personally AEW was the alternative to WWE when it was bad, now with HHH at the helm along with punk coming back there's no reason for me to want to watch AEW anymore
And this is what people are missing. Only reason aew had a fan base was because the nerds were tired of cena and Vince. Now that they’re gonna and reigns being the man, aew is in serious trouble.
Bro i started to watch after years without watching and its so difficult to watch, i tried but its so boring, the matches, the wrestling, the storylines its everything boring, its not worse bc this is ROH place lol
@ well based on his documentary in 2024, he talked about putting everything aside and handling the business side of it…he would’ve never came back if vinny mac was still in office
I feel like they just need to figure out how to make storylines more meaningful. Similar to what they tried to do with MJF and Adam Cole rivalry (before Adam disappeared),and they need less titles. Having so many titles just makes a title defense or opportunity less important since there’s so many other titles to go after if someone loses a match for one. They shouldn’t be struggling this hard especially with such an amazing roster.
I lost hope at AEW when they release the footage of the backstage brawl at all in And also AEW Fight Forever is just like the pro-wrestling version of GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition
They brought this upon themselves. They take down youtubers who talk about their shows like (thegreatone) so i cant stay updated on them or know if aew has something awesome to come back. And their copying tna in hiring too many wwe ex stars and relying on story lines created in wwe so their a wwe lite at this point
Dude, its easier to point out why AEW fell off than when, so many fumbled pushes, long storylines than go nowhere or have a very meh payoff, matches, that while good have 0 build to them, the many, many, many, many red hot starts that have cooled off immensely that they might as well be glaciers at this point....
Surplus of talent they have that haven’t gotten a chance at the top, consistent push or a push when they deserved it yet Jon Moxley can have 1000 boring reigns whenever he wants. Tony Khan just isn’t that guy.
I dont watch AEW really (i more just keep up with it via social media) but on the occation when i turn it on, it doesnt help the main event is usually multiple people ive never heard of.
They never needed Punk. They were doing just fine before him. They are now like WWE and the matches are boring and not very competitive or exciting, even guys who were legendary in the independent circuits or in Japan couldn't wrestle as good in AEW. Something's wrong there! While WWE is doing the smart thing and snatching up all the "new", fresh, exciting talents that not a lot of people has seen before, AEW is too busy hiring WWE's scrapyard wrestlers. Plus their arena is boring as hell; put some exciting lights on to pump people up. AEW= All Ex WWE Wrestlers. Lol. They have so many good wrestlers but don't know how to put them against each others to create amazing matches and story lines. It's just their favorites over and over and over again. Who the hell wants to see the same old thing over and over again. Take risk and try something new for once! And stop putting on 3 minute matches, put some effort into them!! I'm dying of boredom. Every time I tuned in, I see the same old shit again. I didn't want to tune in, but it's now a habit, damn! We need to talk about the women's division as well, it's going NO WHERE. It's dead and boring. WWE is hiring all the best female wrestlers while AEW doesn't give a damn. It's like AEW is stuck in this boring phase and no matter what they do, they cannot move forward.
@@mikemadsen7926 , exactly! That's what I've been saying too! They are some of the hottest names right now- I was shocked Tony didn't sign them when he had the chance. Signing them would had help AEW's women's division. I can think of soo many names in AEW that could be replaced, example: Rebel, Karen Jarret, (what do they really do other than show up?), and many names on the men's roster. And am I the only one who think Mone's hairs are hideous?
AEW has not been the same since brawl out. They're still trying to recover and its getting to the point where developmental NXT is beating them on their own night at that. Tony needs to pull his head out of the sand and realize something needs to change. The matches and ppvs are still top notch but I feel no investment in the product or any of the characters because the booking hasn't supported what they're trying to sell. Why should I care about Moxley taking over the company? Why does he want to do it anyway? Whats the endgame with this? They already tried the takeover story with the Elite this year and it fizzled out so why am I to believe rhis wont too? Tony admitted he books week to week which is asinine he should have some kind of long term plan of who he's trying to push and where and how stories are gonna end. No AEW is not dying they literally just got a new deal from WBD its not going anywhere but your fans are caring less and less about it except for the diehard "sickos" who will watch and defend AEW no matter what but soon that's all you'll have left and perception is everything and right now AEW just seems like a company in limbo trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle they had. Hopefully they will before it's too late.
I think AEW just has too much fat they need to trim. There's like 7 titles with "divisons" that have no value. A ranking system that could have worked if they gave more of a shit. Booking that's spaced across multiple shows rather than creating a brand split to divide up the roster properly and keep consistency. A LOT of dragging. (Chris Jericho being the prime example of a VERY stale character and storylines involving him are not really engaging) Not to mention rampage being an hour of nothing and Shockwave possibly being no better in the future.
I just can't with Ospreay. The BRUV stuff, the whole i'm a gamer and so desperately want to be a video game character is cringe to me. He's just the British knockoff Kenny Omega
The places biggest weakness, even going back to hangman’s reign, they can tell a story, but they can’t follow up, it’s always their biggest weakness. Everything always falls off. Look at Mariah, look at the Tony/Bucks story, hot moments, now basically all cold
The company is 5 years old 😭 I think they'll be okay in the long run if they can adapt and find that one story that can hook the viewers back into the product. It's gonna take time, but I think they can do it.
When will tony understand that storylines and promos are the most part of wresling Punk and drew started fuedimg after the royal rumble and haven't faced each other till summerslam A fued for 8 months with no matches and it was awesome
I’m taking a break from AEW until the MAX deal. I love a lot of their wrestlers but I find who they chose to put over to be nonsensical sometimes. Still upset Swerve lost his momentum to lose to essentially a retirement match. He was a great champion and I love Bryan Danielson but he didn’t need that. I feel like AEW puts over legends that don’t need it and leaves fresher talent on the back burner.
AEW is always been a mix bag. A lot of highs and a lot lows. The PPVs always delivered though. Like right now the Moxley Death Riders storyline started off strong but now idk how to feel. While the Hurt Syndicate stuff with Swerve has been gold.
Hot take: AEW is still really good, people are just bitter about the punk situation and refuse to move on and give AEW another chance. Punk has millions of cult like fans, it’s weird but it is what it is. AEW is constantly putting on incredible stories and matches but people hyper focus on the bad. It’s really frustrating. AEDUB baby. I’m never jumping ship like all these fickle fans.
Incredible stories? Like Adam Cole being a babyface against MJF despite being the one who turned on him? Moxley with his group doing what The Elite are supposed to be doing? Chris Jericho stuff?
@ hangman vs switchblade has been great, Christian Cage and his patriarchy have been a lot of fun, swerve vs Bobby has had great build up, and the tag division is more alive than ever. We can knit pick all we want, I’m not saying it’s all been great but it SURE AS HELL hasn’t been all bad. People need to lock in
Day one AEW fan that just stopped watching. I think it's crazy how some of the political stuff wrestlers have done gets overlooked. Like Hangman going into business for himself with Punk is crazy, but the whole story of Moxley (who was one of my favorites) refusing to lose to Punk because he wanted to get a win before putting him over is kind of insane. If that was any other wrestler people would be talking mad shit about it.
AEW is the Milwaukee Bucks. A championship roster, years before this one it was the best, has the best player in the game, but it has a terrible head coach, injuries are hurting them and they don't have a large fanbase to sustain them, like their rivals the Celtics (WWE in that case).
Fell off? Their very first match on TV was the most pathetic freak show battle royal is pro wrestling history. Fell off? That means AEW was somehow a quality product at some point. AEW was reluctantly getting better when Punk was there, but the clowns are running the circus.
AEW is in the same boat as TNA was a few years back. They need to rebuild the promotion from the ground up. Also hire some people who know how to book a show. Tony is like Dixie Carter. Yes, they loved wrestling, but booking it was not their bread and butter. I think if Tony gets some people to help him. AEW can be salvaged and succeed again. We all know Cody was the real mastermind behind AEW's success. When he left that was the start of the company's downfall.

Let's all say it went downhill when CM Punk left and Tony just kept hiring former WWE wrestlers and kept making fun of WWE.
I mean Tony has loads of money, there is no way he couldn't hire an established wrestling booker in 5 years 💀
His ego won't let him
i absolutely hate the over choreographed no-sell ballet style wresting in AEW
The current weekly gaslighting session with the MJF and Adam Cole storyline is probably the most annoyed I've been with wrestling in a while lol their storyline in 2023 was legit probably my favourite storyline in modern wrestling
Love Adam Cole but his lack of health has really hindered his post WWE run. I get he'll never look super jacked but he's becoming really fragile. His ankle injury wasn't even from a standard bump and it sidelined him over a year
Crazy how people went from jumping from wwe to aew and now it's aew to nxt
Shill much bro... It doesnt matter how great their roster is as long as Khan is treating AEW like he did his action figures when he was a kid
Aew was only good at first because it was up against 2019 wwe, any wrestling show would look great if it was up against that POS
I don't know. I don't think 2019 WWE is worse than Heroes of Wrestling but I do think a decent Wrestling show would still be a lot better than 2019 WWE.
@ ok maybe ANY wrestling show was an overstatement, I meant any modern wrestling show
tna existed at the time and people still didn't watch it
@ that’s because it was late 2010s impact, aka the most 5/10 fine wrestling show of all time
2019 aew had sonny kiss no legs guy the librarian Peter avalon it was always bad in time after all the blind praise fans realized that
Tony Kahn is 100% to blame.
Names every ex WWE star by their AEW name Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, The Bastard Pac, Mercedes Mone.......EDGE 💀
Love your work! Keep them coming! You are killing it! Banger after banger after banger 💥
🔥🔥🔥
Wwe should just give Edge name to Adam Copeland, he has the theme song and the Rated R superstar nickname already, it's the only thing left.
@@PowerpuffBlito They can't just give it to him. It's been trademarked by WWE.
@@PowerpuffBlito I hear so many people still call him Edge lol. I do agree with you though. Maybe WWE still sell Edge merch? I mean he's already in the HOF so what's left for him to do there? Legends contract down the line maybe?
And they all are doing nothing noteworthy damn shame
I feel like this isn’t the downfall of AEW but rather just growing pains. Think of all the great companies that had *that* era
WWE had the Attitude era
TNA had that late 2000’s-early 2010’s run
WCW was a juggernaut from 95’-97’
NXT had the black and gold era from 2015-2019
And the focus on the topic, AEW had that 2019-2022 run
All these companies had that era, but they also had that *other* era
WWE from 2016-2019
NXT 2.0 in its first few months
WCW in 2000
AEW right now
So many examples of these companies having good and bad eras. It happens to all companies! AEW will have a golden era again, it only needs time.
In order to have a golden era they need stars.
2016 was a great year for wwe 2017 to 2019 nobody counts the pandemic era and 95 to 96 were bad years to. Aew has fallen so deep their is no bouncing back from this
Not with TK booking Dynamite
Now we find out that Tony Khan was threatening Jack Hagers job if he publicly supported Trump. I'm not even a Trump guy but that lame.
its actually crazy that aew's peak was during the pandemic with no fans.
When they said that aew have a great roster... All the names sound so boring, Adam Cole? C'mon
Every wrestler you named on aew roster is awful..and you know why? CAUSE TONY CANT BOOK AND SHOUL NEVER BEEN IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING
Brother is playing GM Mode IRL
@javi994 and sucks at it
Sad to hear the channel is shutting down. Good luck in your future endeavors!
You keep naming these lame wrestlers that have exposed themselves as goofs like I should be impressed. They all need to go to wwe to even mean anything
Especially jericho and mox
Aew been fell off since the day it started
Fr aew got alot of blind praise in the beginning but it was always lame. In time fans realized that
Tony Khan books like a kid with ADHD. His stories start and stop but then die somehow, as if we forgot what happened 6 months ago. I have been with them from the start and I still watch WWE when I can fit it in. AEW needs a real creative team, with a real booker because the characters/athletes/performers are world class.
They need to stop piggybacking of wwe have made it's time for Tony khan to create his own stars.
I'm getting tired of UA-camrs whining about being tired of watching wrestling
Rough stuff, bud. You can always take a break and come later.
I noticed the fall off when I was watching both AEW and WWE and stopped watching AEW
AEW... IS WHERE... THE WRESTLE
On a serious note though, if WWE transfer to netflix and are able to start to get a little more extreme and edgy, it could run AEW outta town.
"12 mins of me contradicting myself about AEW" should be the title.
Cm punk doesn’t hate wwe, he hated VKM
Based on his 2014 podcast he hated Triple H more
@ well based on his documentary in 2024, he talked about putting everything aside and handling the business side of it…he would’ve never came back if vinny mac was still in office
0:44 man not Jericho it isn’t 2001,2008 or 2017
I feel like they just need to figure out how to make storylines more meaningful.
AEW lost me after Brawl Out. Haven’t watched since.
WWE sellls out stadiums AEW can’t even fill an arena
It seems like after the All Out incident Aew hasn’t been the same
I lost hope at AEW when they release the footage of the backstage brawl at all in
And also AEW Fight Forever is just like the pro-wrestling version of GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition
They brought this upon themselves. They take down youtubers who talk about their shows like (thegreatone) so i cant stay updated on them or know if aew has something awesome to come back. And their copying tna in hiring too many wwe ex stars and relying on story lines created in wwe so their a wwe lite at this point
Dude, its easier to point out why AEW fell off than when, so many fumbled pushes, long storylines than go nowhere or have a very meh payoff, matches, that while good have 0 build to them, the many, many, many, many red hot starts that have cooled off immensely that they might as well be glaciers at this point....
lol should e kept Swerve as champ a bit longer 😂
Possibly the lowest drawing world champ in wrestling history.
@ he was entertaining though and aew was hype with him
Surplus of talent they have that haven’t gotten a chance at the top, consistent push or a push when they deserved it yet Jon Moxley can have 1000 boring reigns whenever he wants. Tony Khan just isn’t that guy.
I dont watch AEW really (i more just keep up with it via social media) but on the occation when i turn it on, it doesnt help the main event is usually multiple people ive never heard of.
Listen it was never better than WWE it was just a nenew company that came out so all wrestling fans turned in
Fr aew was always bad they just got alot of blind praise it was just a matter of time before fans seen aew for what it really was
They never needed Punk.
Tk simped out atleast 10mill for mercedes toupee, with that money he could of had delta vaquer and Giulia who are the future
Haven’t watched since the first Wembley show, haven’t been a regular viewer since the start of 2023. The show felt different after Cody left.
My parents always told me to never compare to others and this is a real life example!
(Chris Jericho being the prime example of a VERY stale character and storylines involving him are not really engaging)
Not to mention rampage being an hour of nothing and Shockwave possibly being no better in the future.
I just can't with Ospreay. The BRUV stuff, the whole i'm a gamer and so desperately want to be a video game character is cringe to me. He's just the British knockoff Kenny Omega
Him and Omega aren’t really similar but I understand why you don’t like him.
Wwe 2016 and 2017 was really good tho
Smackdown in 2016, yes. Raw in 2017, had its moments.
The places biggest weakness, even going back to hangman’s reign, they can tell a story, but they can’t follow up, it’s always their biggest weakness. Everything always falls off. Look at Mariah, look at the Tony/Bucks story, hot moments, now basically all cold
I haven’t watched a second of AEW Television in a year and a half
The company is 5 years old 😭 I think they'll be okay in the long run if they can adapt and find that one story that can hook the viewers back into the product. It's gonna take time, but I think they can do it.
CM Punk and Cody Leaving marked the end of AEW’s honeymoon glory phase
Me, not watching wrestling since the start of the year:
The fell off AGAIN???
How?
6:57 Fr 😞
AEW sucks and I’m embarrassed that I’m watching it!
When will tony understand that storylines and promos are the most part of wresling
Punk and drew started fuedimg after the royal rumble and haven't faced each other till summerslam
A fued for 8 months with no matches and it was awesome
I’m taking a break from AEW until the MAX deal. I love a lot of their wrestlers but I find who they chose to put over to be nonsensical sometimes. Still upset Swerve lost his momentum to lose to essentially a retirement match. He was a great champion and I love Bryan Danielson but he didn’t need that. I feel like AEW puts over legends that don’t need it and leaves fresher talent on the back burner.
Great video … valid criticism
But there ride or die fans would say its thriving 😂
AEW is always been a mix bag. A lot of highs and a lot lows. The PPVs always delivered though. Like right now the Moxley Death Riders storyline started off strong but now idk how to feel. While the Hurt Syndicate stuff with Swerve has been gold.
Zion injured as always
Deonte... I saw that ufc insert so I'm gonna NEED a couple UFC/MMA videos down the line 🗣️
I used to pray for times like these
Hot take: AEW is still really good, people are just bitter about the punk situation and refuse to move on and give AEW another chance.
People need to lock in
People saying “hot take” right before they give their dumb opinion always makes me laugh 😂
Saying the fans are fickle? No we just don’t eat everything Tony puts in front us like you do bootlicker 🤦♂️🫢
@ cry harder nerd 😂 enjoy your blood money wrestling
Day one AEW fan that just stopped watching. I think it's crazy how some of the political stuff wrestlers have done gets overlooked. Like Hangman going into business for himself with Punk is crazy, but the whole story of Moxley (who was one of my favorites) refusing to lose to Punk because he wanted to get a win before putting him over is kind of insane. If that was any other wrestler people would be talking mad shit about it.
All that credibility was gone with the Jack Perry praise
AEW is the Milwaukee Bucks.
A championship roster, years before this one it was the best, has the best player in the game, but it has a terrible head coach, injuries are hurting them and they don't have a large fanbase to sustain them, like their rivals the Celtics (WWE in that case).
I stopped watching for the repeativeness
Edge could possibly be making AEW money if he didn’t jump off a steal cage
They already hit a WCW low guys. This is not looking good.
Was that a lost reference at the end!!??? Omg i love deonte even more now
I’m sorry you rolled off that roster there and my brain said this ‘….and?’
No to swerve joining The Hurt Syndicate. It should be EJ Nduka who should join The Syndicate.
How do you not MJF when speaking on the roster? He’s the only good thing they got lol
The thing is with AEW is great wrestlers, great match, but poor booking most of the time or at least booking that not very interesting
When are you starting a ufc channel cmon now
okay, but can you admit that AEW never should have signed CM Punk?
can you admit the First Dance wasn't worth it?
0:50 for a lot of these wrestlers, the "idea" of them is better than they actually are. I
I know, right?! Ever since Cody leaving and Punk being fired, the company has been on a downward spiral.
@@onigames7309 you all shut up about PUNK
@@david-p8e6oPeople will stop bringing up Punk when AEW stops proving him right
@@bashamd96 He was never right you all cant just move on already Punk is full of crap always has been
@david-p8e6o He can't be wrong when AEW keeps proving him right so you're objectively lying
I forgotttttt 😂 aew is still a thing
I like watching different wrestling so I will keep watching till the doors close but yeah the pool is drying up also I don’t pretend to have the answers on how to fix it
Idk why people still watch aew.
cool roster
