Everyone has been preaching "buy now”, stocks are on the bull run" but I've been buying stocks at a discount since the beginning of the year and yet the cycle continues with more losses, I know the idea is to hold long term but God I could really give anything to see some positive change happen to my portfolio.

I started drip feeding spare cash into FTSE 100 companies and it took me 10 years to go from zero to £1000 in dividend income per month. I achieved this in 2019. All tax free. Consistency is the key, never giving up and also remember to give yourself little rewards along the way. Good luck on your journey.
Dividend tax increases are minimal. Any smart U.K. investor this applies to can use an ISA, pension, investment bond to obtain gross roll up. This is a non issue.
Crypto not impacted by this tax increase. Pay attention to what happens with capital gains tax though as that will have the biggest impact. I don't predict any huge changes to that in the near term though.

What about non tax payers (people who earn less than their individual tax free allowance)?
