Thank you for joining me for this special topic video 💜 I really enjoy the challenge of making videos like this one and my one on frugal living which you can watch here: ua-cam.com/video/2BC2O_Yqvww/v-deo.html Its a challenge because filming nature is what comes naturally to me and while I’m not the most concise I do plan out these video and try to include some nature footage so you’re not just watching me talk the entire time. I hope you find it interesting and I’m looking forward to editing and sharing the three adventure video from Haida Gwaii I currently have filmed. See ya soon!
I have great respect for UA-cam creators. Even more today as I just spent 14 hours making a video. Grant me it was my first long video. Just a challenge I wanted to accomplish for a long time now as I've been working on my self-esteem and fears. Thank you for all the countless hours you put in to your videos. 💜🐾
I ALWAYS watch your vids to the end 😊Sometimes I wake up to a dead phone with my headphones still on, but at least it played all the way through! Then I have to go back later to rewatch so I don’t feel like I missed it. As for questions/suggestions: I know you’re very busy but maybe you can teach us a few things as you’re doing them, eg. how you make a fire and put it out, how you identify what you forage and how you preserve it, how you handle wildlife that gets too close, how to ‘leave no trace’ etc. Speak to us like we’re completely clueless because some of us really are and would need a guide or mentor. Much thanks and love to you Amanda!❤
I'm new to your chanel. I'm a 71 year old woman and I am totally shocked at how sharp and professional you are with your chanel!! You are so articulate about the process of utube and how you have built your business and fan base. You are a determined young savy business woman. You should take time to pat yourself on the back. Also take time off every now and then so you don't get burn out which is an a occurring theme in my own life. God Bless you on your journey!! You are Amazing!
I can tell how much work this is and you can’t really take time off. I love that you don’t to click bait or gaudy misleading thumbnails. You are genuine. And talented. I like the variety of topics you share because it is interesting to see all aspects of your unique style of Vanlife. I’m glad viewers help you with Frank and your van. And you don’t have to stoop to the fake scenarios that some do. All creators work hard, I’m not criticizing. I appreciate that keeping simple is important to you more than going big. People are struggling so much today and I point to you as someone that lives simply and happily. ❤✌️🚙
I appreciate you not putting clickbait or exaggerating things on videos like most content creators! I pray your channel grows organically and huge….almost 32k so im sure its happening already! 🎉❤
Amanda, the quality of your vlogs show how much you love and enjoy your craft. I appreciate all your hard work and dedication. Give Frank an extra treat for me!❤
OMG! I had no idea how much work it takes! WOW! I'm here as a subscriber and Patron, and your storytelling, photography, and videos are AMAZEBALLS!! Big love!
I like your narration ...... it's clear, concise, stammer-free with no awwwwwww's , errrrrrs, yeah's ......etc. It's clean and a pleasure to listen to !!! Great work on the vids !!! Good Luck with it !!!
Thank you sharing your YT info. I have to tell you the reason I follow you is because of not only your journey through life but your eye for photography and storytelling. I love how you show us your world of driving your van/home through western Canada. Wish I had your confidence and spunk that you do. Don't give up and keep up your spirit of adventure and great work. Looking forward to your new journeys.
You are making me want bangs again...... I was watching another vanlifer/ UA-camr who's posted over 1000 videos in 8 years and only has 23,000 subs.. she said pateron is what keeps her on UA-cam.. I'm a PATERON to only this channel.. all the updates and extra tidbits all the photos and clips make it so worth it..
I think I will.. my daughter is getting married in August and loves the idea of me having bangs...soooo I think I will.... maybe I'll post a before and after Pic over on pateron 😊
I really must say you and Foresty Forest are my two favorite van life channels ever! Wonderful and thought provoking content. Both Canadians. Thank you again!!!

You are the BEST channel there is! I love all your content and also love these types of videos very much and would love to see one on your creative process- like if you write a script, ect :)
I have not seen a utuber talk about this topic in such an open and honest way before. Thank you! I know I'm not the only one who's interested. Keep doing what your doing, you are one of the best!

I really enjoyed this video. I'm not ever going to try UA-cam as a career, but I want to understand what's involved. I really thought it was neat to see how you fulfill your sticker orders. Your desk and shelf area is so beautiful. I ordered stickers last year and still love them. All the best to everyone, but especially Sweet Frank.
I love the way you present all the options to make money. You put an incredible amount of work into each video and I appreciate it!!! Give Frank a big hug for me ❤❤
Our family enjoys you content Amanda & having gone around Australia in a motorhome & trying UA-cam. In the end we just gave up, so anyone out there thinks its easy. NO ITS NOT. 🙏❤️ PS: love Frank.
The great thing about sharing your adventures on UA-cam is that you always have the memories for yourself if it doesn’t become a career. I knew no matter what that the videos of Frank would be the most valuable thing in the end 💜

As a creator myself it’s extremely heartbreaking, especially when people in your close circle don’t consider this work. @@tidelinetoalpine I work 45hrs a week in a steel factory, live in my car, and have 410 subs on my UA-camchannel. I'm trying SO hard! I leave the factory and go straight to the public library to work on editing until closing. Right now I'm working on a stealth camping video for release tomorrow. You're my spirit animal Amanda. You're not just a content creator...your a smile creator too! ☺️I so look forward to every video. Much love to you & Frank! 💜
This video was so satisfying. Besides being informative, your vocabulary and ability to articulate your thoughts and feelings is extraordinary and satisfying to the listener, to me. I don't know how to explain it. Your beautiful way of expressing yourself is very pleasing, richer, & enlightening. I do enjoy your good vocabulary 😊 and your gift of articulating and expressing your thoughts. Thank you Amanda.
You are a great storyteller, not only through your visually beautiful video but your philosophical narratives. I find them soothing even when you are facing challenges. Thank you for bringing us on your journey ❤🙏🌸 you are excellent to your viewers. Your hard work shows.
I think almost anything can be made interesting in film with editing and a good soundtrack and/or voice over. Even things like watching you edit your video, answer emails/write patreon posts, talk to sponsors, or filling envelopes. Whole videos of that could get boring, but giving a taste here and there wouldn't hurt, I think.
Amanda, your videos are beautifully done! It’s exciting to see your work get better & better! Following you & supporting you on Patreon is a privilege! I’ve really enjoyed your videos with Flossy as well! You are definitely my favorite UA-cam & Patreon Creator! 😊❤
Amanda, thank you dearly for this video, and for sharing yours and Frank's vanlife, amazing adventures, and words of wisdom with us. I've always wanted to know more details about how to earn funds while having an enjoyable career living fulltime in a van... or any other vehicle. Your awesome channel and content and AdventureVanMan (Brian, Kelly, and Hobbs) are two of my favorites. Look forward to all your videos, Amanda. Hugs to both you and Frank. AND, I watched with great interest and admiration this video (and your others) ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO THE END.
I love your videos Amanda! When I see a new one on my feed I find time to watch it ASAP!! Thank you for all your hard work as well as sharing your joy and passion for nature and people you care about. I've come to realize how much richer my view of our world is since I started following you on your UA-cam channel❣️
Amanda, great video and content video! You have some sage advice for making some form of income with UA-cam. Thank you for sharing your experience with working with vendors, other creators, and the challenges received from the community.😮❤
I love your real life content. I'm really appreciative of you upgrading your film gear. The lush drone footage and northern lights. I get to see and enjoy from on the other side of the earth because of your artistic passion and love of nature. I'd love to know more about the realities of being a youtube creator and what it was like for you when you uploaded your first ever content and started your online journey. Love to you and Frank from Australia ❤
I found this very interesting. I'm not going to pursue YT as a career but I've always wondered what goes into it. Thank you for all your hard work. Your videos always make my day. Much love to you and Frank
Holy crap...I didn't realize how much time you spend editing. At 27.23 or abouts you were picking some leaves that looked like raspberries. I have a bush type thing that the leaves look like this but I got it half dead from my brother and he doesn't know what it is of course lol! Are they raspberry leaves? Another question...do we need to watch the entire ad on your videos for you to get money?
😆 it’s a lot, especially because I don’t make short videos. Ideally I would be able to afford to make less video but put even more time into them and learn new editing tricks but right now I’m trying to balance creative enjoyment and actually making money.
I adore you Amanda and Frank is a special dog. We are so lucky to be able to tag along with you and experience your incredible adventures! You are extremely talented and a beautiful human. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. You are valued ❤❤❤
Frank’s tail in the water at 13:00 is adorable, and great camera work. I was more interested in the content. IT Feature Tester (unpaid), Entrepreneur for an online e-commerce shop, social media manager, photographer extraordinaire, and steadfast companion. Nice one, tidelinetoalpine !!
do a video on your power system, cause 4 grand is alot. you are such a smart woman, that isnt always showcased so do more of these videos teaching us stuff, i already know i want the same van for cheap plentiful parts tho i wonder about the gas consumption. a 6 or 8 valve van takes close to what my schoolie prob use in diesal but van much smaller for parking. :)
This was very well presented. I appreciate the honest information and the relaxed manner you convey your experiences. You are very calming in this crazy messed up world. Thank you!!
oh ! YAY harvesting nettles, so yummy and so good for you. I tried them this spring, by making them into my own fettuccine, it was work rolling it thin, but i made a nice Alfredo sauce, to top my cooked noodles and it was amazing. i have also made it into tea, it takes the stress of the day away, very nice and relaxing. foraging is so much fun, glad to see some one interested in it too ! Good video !
This was a great update. About halfway through I thought "oh, Amanda is an entrepreneur!" While there were times when I thought I wanted to do YT, the more I learn about it the less I think it would suit my nature or interests. I am one of your happy patrons - you are amazingly generous with what you share. I'm grateful I have a life where I can afford to help your creative lifestyle! And - I'm lucky I ordered stickers when I did, I treasure the "live" Frank paw print!
Thanks for this enlightening video, Amanda. I always like it when my YTubers 18:34 talk real..without tne show. Most appreciate. I ansolutely love your narure videos! Please tell us the name of your ambience channel. You said once, quite a long time ago, and I could never remember. Thank you.
I've ordered merchandise from Junkyard Fox. James Harris is the creator specializing in desert bushcraft. I've bought a beanie, coffe mugs and several stickers. Quality and service was excellent. I think his margins must be decent because he has fairly regular sales.
Print on demand companies do usually offer direct printing and shipping to the customers so you don’t have to do that. You can even ad a personal message with each order.
I truly appreciate you sharing the amount of time that goes in maintaining the creator lifestyle while being a nomad!!! Im a Gypsy at heart amd since ive moved into ky van ive enjoyed as much of simple life as i can. I do work 2 jobs myself and enjoy them both!!! I always wanted to share the dogs journey while they live with me in this lifestyle... Im sure some people would be interested in seeing 2 dogs live in a van being dragged around?? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣. I have always enjoyed watching your videos. Always soothing and informative... Especially when you're entering various traditional territories and share their knowledge!! MahsiCho. -Thank-You.safe travels.... And... Loves to Frank-amous from Gabrielle 🐾 and Ephiny 🐾 🖖🏽🧡🐾🚐
Yay! I love learning, also adventure, creativity and sharing. Thanks for this informative video. Suggested topics: foraging for food and medicine (how where and what); geology and hydrology; how to fix and maintain things.
I picked up a T-shirt from Ben Brainard. I've had it for 3+ years and am still satisfied with the purchase. I just found your videos. You're doing a good job sharing life and telling interesting stories.
I noticed, no youtuber shares how much they make on patreon. I am curious as to why no one shares that amount. . I love your videos and have watched from the beginning. You are one of my faves. Just thought I would ask that question. Thanks for sharing!🦋❤️🦋
Enjoyed your insight on the topic and explaining what UA-cam life is like for you. I've had this bad relationship with UA-cam. I have another channel with almost 10K subs, monetized for 5 years and it feels like I've been blocked online as time wore on. It makes me some money every month but my latest video on that channel was a huge eye opener for me. I can't spend the hours it takes to make pennies again. I will always enjoy filming and creating. I'm just going to spend more time doing what I want to do, opposed to doing what I think the algorithm wants out of me. That BS is over lol. Thanks for sharing.
Yes create for you, the algorithm is a cruel and mysterious mistress 😂 it’s always changing. One day it’s happy with you and next there’s no doing anything right. Infinitely frustrating. It’s definitely a grind but at least if you create what you feel stoked on you’ll always have that and who knows maybe that will end up doing better in the long run.
Great Video! Thank You! Beautiful footage of the Northern Lights!!! I love how you end your videos with Frank ... ! I Love hearing him breathe! Another UA-camr mentioned to, "Watch the videos all the way to the end. It makes a difference in the algorithms!!!" So, I do that now! Also, I listen to the ads for atleast 10 to 15 seconds beyond the 5 or 10 seconds of when the 'Skip Video' sign comes up. You get money this way! If it is an obnoxious ad, or I've heard it too many times ... I turn the volume down. Or, I let the ad play out - I leave the room to get something, or I'm cooking, or something else. I've got your back, Amanda!
Hi! I just subbed. This is my second video I've watched of you! TYSM for doing this. I've had so many questions. I've got a 1000 day countdown to vanlife. Till my youngest graduates high school. And I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! You have an excellent vibe & are so immensely blessed. And Frank is too of course. I love you already 💚💚💚 thank you again 🙏🏼🌊💙
I have a few You Tubers that I follow each week, and I can honestly say that you are my favorite. Your content is interesting; your story telling, your opinions, observations; your videos are stunning. But this is all true, as *you* are an interesting human/profound. This was extremely interesting, even though I do not plan to become a Y Tuber, I still found it very interesting, all that goes into a life/career such as yours. I would love to hear more stories/videos like this, I think you have a lot to impart. I've said this before, and perhaps I'm in the minority of viewers on this, but I think hearing your reviews/reflections on books you read would be really interesting. I also love it when you explain about the various trees, plants, ecosystems, rocks, geology, etc. that you come upon. Anyway, your channel is top notch! Hugs to you and Frank x
Hi Amanda thank you so much for this informative video. You edit beautifully throughout making the watching experience interesting and educational. Best wishes ❤
Highly informative video for "content creators" or "wannabes" . I'm not one of those folks. I do like that monthly video approach for content not following the regular topics like #vanlife. 👍 Rock on 🙂.
This was a great video, thanks for sharing that with us. Also I just got the 11mm F1.8 lens as well. I was going to comment asking if that was the lens you use in side your van but you mentioned it. I look forward to the rest of your Haida Gwaii videos, I'm heading up there in Aug so I'm excited to see what I'm in for. Safe Travels and Cheers!
Thank you for sharing and explaining all your income sources. I really had no idea how much work goes into creating a successful channel. I also want to share with you that I appreciate the consistency of your uploads. 🙏❤
I think Utube should be taking less money on your ads and pay more for the longer you have been doing videos!!!??? You are doing a terrific job!!! Big hugs to Frank❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you, I've learned much from you in this and other videos plus I love your photography, wandering lifestyle, and the landscapes you share. Also happy with LMNT. I've recently attained 1000 subscribers starting my third year as a UA-cam content creator. Learning videography and editing seemed the natural next step after storytelling all my life, taking photographs since childhood, living on the road over 30 years, blogging 16 years, and retiring after 30 years as an Interpretive Park Ranger. I enjoy the challenge of this new to me media, about one hour editing for every minute of finished video wondering if it takes everyone that long. I am using Movie Maker as I don't want to buy or have to be online. Don't particularly like marketing myself so Patreon seems a better fit than YTmembership. Like the idea of communication with patrons. Would struggle with sponsors as not much of a consumer. Prefer a personal touch. Thanks again for sharing and being you. Scratches for Frank.

Amanda, your videos are beautifully done! It’s exciting to see your work get better & better! Following you & supporting you on Patreon is a privilege! I’ve really enjoyed your videos with Flossy as well! You are definitely my favorite UA-cam & Patreon Creator! 😊❤
🎉❤💜 Appreciate you!!
just discovered this great channel. greetings from montreal,,,
Just found your channel ❤ thank you for your efforts and wisdom-Melissa 😊 (new subscriber)
Thank you and welcome 🤗
Helpful video. I'm a vanlifer with an interesting life and I'm like... do I???
Ask Vancity Vanlife: Chrome and Cruz the bulldog. He knows about the t-shirt drama and can tell you where to go.
I left the same comment lol
Chromosome has a huge warehouse that he just upgraded to.
I felt like his channel had become all about the merch and brand deals. Each to their own.
@@Lifecombing to an extent but his content is growing and expanding to bigger and better things because of it. Enjoy
Yes I would like to hear more.
This was an excellent video. As a fellow creator/youtuber, Patreoner, cattle dog guardian, and van enthusiast, I'm loving binging your channel!
Thank you 🥰 I appreciate it!
Well said Amanda! You are such a hard worker! Frank is a lucky boy and you are lucky to have him too
thank you for sharing!
I would definitely say you offer a lot of value in your videos. You are really good at what you do Amanda! ❤
Love your channel. Love your Patreon. I am on other creators' Patreon and yours is by far the best for added value. Thanks for all your efforts..
Looking forward to this, watching now.
Time stamps would be great👍
I thought I put them 🤔 maybe too low in the description but they should be on the progress bar at the bottom of the video.
I found this very interesting. I'm not going to pursue YT as a career but I've always wondered what goes into it. Thank you for all your hard work. Your videos always make my day. Much love to you and Frank
29:35 Is that background noise actually RAIN? Sounds like some pretty decent rain! Gawd I love the sound of rain on a car roof!
She's harvesting stinging nettle leaves :)
You are amazing. I almost never miss your videos. You’re authentic and true. I so resonate with you. I wish you and Frankie all the best ❤
Thanks Gerry 🙏🏼 I appreciate your gift and comment.
Frank also works very hard doing his part to financially support his family.
Wow … tremendous content ! Thank you for sharing this insight to your life work and art . I very much enjoyed this and so much to ponder.
do a video on your power system, cause 4 grand is alot. you are such a smart woman, that isnt always showcased so do more of these videos teaching us stuff, i already know i want the same van for cheap plentiful parts tho i wonder about the gas consumption. a 6 or 8 valve van takes close to what my schoolie prob use in diesal but van much smaller for parking.
Thank you.
It’s @tidelinetoalpineambience 🫶🏻
I love all your videos, Amanda. You do fantastic work. And that must be one of the best endings clips of Frank I've seen. 😂
I’m a new nomad on a small fixed income; I’m curious how you pinch pennies & live frugally? Thank You in advance Amanda & Frank 🤗❤️🙏🏼🐶😎
The link to that video is in the pinned comment for you to enjoy after this one. Good luck and happy nomading
@@tidelinetoalpine Thank You I always Love your videos and enjoy the content you post as well as Frank 🤗❤️🙏🏼👼🏼🐶😎
@@tidelinetoalpineit was a great video
@@tidelinetoalpine better in the long run, for my sanity! lmao
Do you have a video on what drone you use or which drone you’d recommend or which drone is the best to use?
Thank you
Thank you for explaining the you tube process for those who are considering unleashing there creativity to the world using you tube ❤
Oh & I had to keep rewinding to hear what you were saying bc I couldn't believe you were burning all that AMAZING DRIFTWOOD 😂🤎🤎🤎
Thank you and cheers to your countdown, the time will come before you know it.
Great info ❤ Thank you ❣️
I love these types of videos, I think it’s important for people to hear it all when considering this kind of path
Some of my favorite UA-cam channels are surprisingly small. This video was awesome, Amanda! Love to you and Frank! 👍😎🇨🇦💚🐾💙💜 P.S. Love the desk!!
Hello Frank. Adorable picture of Frank. Nicely informative content.
Thank you so much 🙏🏼 I truly appreciate your thoughtful comment and long time support of my channel ☺️
Posting a wish list on Amazon or the like and an Amazon recommended list would be great for people that want to send you ( or Frank) gifts.
I look forward to your Haida Gwaii videos, Mr. Outland Harry. I enjoy your work, especially of all those northern Vancouver Island lake sites.
@@LowLightMike thanks Mike!!
4:53 yes I would love to hear about that!
I am a content creator but I am new and still learning.
I'm planning on starting my own channel over the next year. I found this video loaded with a lot of good information. I just joined your Patreon.
Thank you Nancy and welcome 🤗 best of luck on your YT journey
Thank you for your generosity. And I’m happy you are having success w You Tube! 😘
My creative self loves your photography..i have been a photographer since a out 10...honestly i am old
