Wish the testing grounds had a PvsAI mode as well
They should allways add double xp to TG to make people play them with other heros too so you don't have to allways play against the same hero's again again and again plus you can learn how to counter other hero's too with the TG changes.

I want to keep Tiandi’s slow dodge heavies. I just love that he casually strolls and around his enemy

He needs the old slower dodge and allow him to soft cancel kick with dodge instead of hard cancel. Damage needs to be lowered a bit but it does feel good to have people fear the dodge attack so idk.
This rework is litteraly orochi but much fucking worse. I don't think that just lower damage can make it balanced
@@xerteron7400 I thought the same thing when Roach got his rework but after fighting him for a few weeks he became really easy to deal with on average with only the top players hard to deal with. I believe Tiandi will be the same. Batting lights is really easy against the average Tiandi player.

I just think he needs the slower dodge cause his animations look really f-ing choppy. Like my God it's just reseting his animations every dodge but faster. and it looks like ass. Super smooth character just got turned into a jumble of mismatched animations.

The Tiandi rework for me, feels like “Don’t flow like water”
The only reason yall say this is because of the sped up dodge heavy and not being able to soft feint kick to dodge. You can literally chain everything to dodges now, so I can't quite comprehend how it's less "flow like water" than before
@@raysendo Because it's not Tiandi, it's just Zhanhu with a kick mix up instead of unblockables. I say take away the feinting of the kick and make it dodge cancelable again so at least some of the old muscle memory matters

@@jayandrews4807 No, I just don't like how literally everything about how you fight with him has changed. Again he doesn't flow like water anymore, there's no style or elegance to him in this state. He's went from a slow and methodical attacker to just a mix of Zhanhu and Pirate without any of the unblockables. It's kinda like he's more of a savage Mongolian like his original concept art suggests rather than the skilled dancer we got.

The one gripe I have is that Side Dodge Heavy isn’t slow anymore, but other than that it seems fun.
I think 25 damage on a dodge heavy is pretty insane too. Especially when you can flow it into a feintable kick that gives you another free heavy lmao
I think I’m ok with the faster dodge heavy, but I wish it didn’t look clunky. Tiandi always had a special place in my heart because his animations are smooth across the board

I think we all agree the punish after the kick needs a bit of damage nerf, considering its so easy to access. I do feel sad that it lost the soft feint into dodge.
About Dragon Dodge, I wish it was change to act as JJ's heavy dodge
The kick rarely ever lands, I think the damage is fair
The side dodge heavy is what needs nerfing it needs like 10 less damage

Now this is good. I haven't played For Honor since one month after pirate came to the game. But I can see that is a huge rework to Tiandi, now he is truly a Dodge specialist

Almost perfect, except for a few tweaks.
The kick needs to be punished by a GB if it keeps this damage.
The recovery cancels on bash are fine to be punished by most dodge attacks.
But please make the dodge heavy at least have different timing for the feints, or make it slower again

when you do a dragon kick you can do a palm strike of a crushing counter light when your opponent is on the ground there is no guarantee of it hitting tho

I used to main Tiandi back when I played For Honor. I think I had 28 or 29 reps. If I come back it looks like all that muscle memory is going down the toilet.
Faster dodge heavies is nice but maybe tone it down to like half of what they increased it by. The rest is awesome (as a tiandi main i love that they improved feints and dodges) but my biggest peeve is that now his dodge heavy feels less like a dodge and more like a counter... no more dancing around characters... 😥
It would be cool if there was variable dodge attacks, hold the dodge button down and u do tiandi og dodge and just press for the fast one

I feel most of this. The dodge heavy now feels super weird. I think with old Tiandi they should give us the forward bash into mixups with the dodge cancel recoveries. Give us the kick but make it only knockdown oos and just knock them back with stamina. Make the follow up an unblockable with feint property.
Take away undodgeable lights.
Or.
Give us new Tiandi. Take away undodgeable lights. Give us an unblockable in the dodge heavy.
Honestly I think that the dragon kick changes were the only necessary changes
He needs like two damage nerfs and they need to fix the side dodge heavy animation but other than that yeah it’s great
I liked his old bash, it was pretty good counter play around hyper armor. But now I don't know if I will be GBd out of it. Also, why no hyper armor heavy follow up from bash, me so sad... ;(
I love it all except one thing, the kick needs to be punishable now that he can feint it
How to Tiandi next 🙏
Changes I would make:
- Give back the old dodge heavy timings and instead give more i-frames to the dodge light. This way Tiandi has a reliable way to punish bashes without it being a 25 dmg heavy (let's be honest that's too much for that speed) and also keeps the timings we know and love for cancels and stuff.
- Add back the kick soft feint to dodge. 0 reason for it to be removed.
- Add back the shorter timing when performing dodge forward + heavy. This change feels terrible and actually makes to move super hard to use reliably when someone dodge one of his bashes.
- Imo, the dodge recovery cancel timing should be shorter for the FRONT DODGE.
Side dodges at 300ms are perfectly fine and buffing them would make him way too hard to punish imo. But the front dodge needs some shorter timings in order to allow him to sustain offense without the fear of getting interrupted all day.
This problem isn't new too: Orochi's rework suffered the same issue before getting his timing buffed. Here I don't think side dodge should be buffed given the amount of defensive options Tiandi has upon side dodging, but the front one definitely feels underwhelming to use when facing interrupt happy opponents, forcing to either empty dodge to parry or just use dodge light.
- Finally: the zone feels a bit left out in all of this. Maybe a soft feint to dodge after first hit would make sense, instead of only the kick.
Other than that, it's overall a solid rework that puts a lot of emphasis on player choice and decision-making compared to the very linear way tiandi used to be played. Great job from ubi.

Bring back the old dodge attack
I'd say bring back the saw faint dodge lights and slow down the pass of the heavy doge over its way too fast. They could also revert the bash back as I find I bit more easy to predict now as when it was behind it was more harder to get out of but other from that the rework is pretty good

I love basically every single change they made for TG Tiandi, except removing the ability to softfeint the Kick into a Dodge. While that may no longer be necessary given how the Kick can be hard feinted, I like having the option to choose between hard feint to GB and softfeint into Undodgeable Tiger Dodge when catching an opponent dodging, as the former deals more damage when catching an empty dodge but is stuffed by dodge attacks, whereas the latter deals far less damage when catching an empty dodge but also beats dodge attacks. I know I can just hard feint the Kick into a parry, and that would often net a bigger punish than softfeint into a 12 damage Tiger Dodge, but just having more offensive options is nice.
His Side Dragon Dodge damage could be tuned down a bit though. 20-22 damage sounds reasonable. And Kick needs to be made more consistent (less Kicking people into a stagger, which doesn't net you a punish) and then maybe the Kick followup heavy can have its damage reduced from 26 to 25.
Using zhanhu’s forward dodge bash in the middle of a combo is extremely slow

Kick punish is great, but kick feint into gb is dumb. I like his flow relying on soft cancels from kick
I think Tiandi's dodge heavy should stay how it was before the rework. Not only does it now look really awful, but it loses extended dodge property and has quicker cancels but the entire point of the move was to use it to avoid, reposition, and then attack with a light or mix it up and get them with a forward heavy or keep the dodge heavy going. Sure, it can't punish bashes, but Tiandi CAN already punish bashes with a dodge light, which by the way are a lot of the weaker casts only way of punishing bashes other than a lucky GB. PS. A bash should not be punished with a 25 damage dodge attack holy shit.
I think his doge heavy should be 1.5 times faster instead of two times, so it looks better, but is still more viable. A dmg nerf would still be needed tho, maybe to like 20 or 22.
for me only the hard feint kick and his follow up feels good and necesary, the rest feels bad, isn't a fluid tiandi anymore specially with the changes to palm strike mid combo and the soft kick feint into dodge.... and that ugly dodge attack

I say make his animation smoother and I think it won't be so bad, tbh should keep top heavy after bash miss, that's still pretty reactable imo

This was a limited time Testing Grounds to see the community’s response to proposed reworks, we’re currently unsure if/when the reworks will be coming
One thing that really feels off for me is that the kick followup heavy lacks the "left arm backward bending" animation wich is present in most of his heavy finishers; it looks so out of character

Rep 70 Tiandi here. Played atleast 40 matches. Overall very good, small tweaks needed though:
-Kick mixup needs a nerf, simplest solution would just be a damage nerf
-Dodge Heavies need to either get a damage nerf OR be slowed down again. If they slow them down they should increase delayability on dodge lights to actually punish bashes
I feel like he’s just Orochi with extra steps. I don’t get why they removed what made him unique (extended dodge attacks and a bash you can soft feint with a dodge) and made him into another “I will never stop attacking you with one attack until I run out of stamina” Hero. I guess I’m used to it by now, but it’s getting tiring fighting somebody you literally can’t touch until you get lucky. I wish a hero’s moveset didn’t require every type of attack in the game just to stand a chance against a good player using half of the hero’s in the roster.

I really love Tiandi’s rework, but the bash being tied to a dodge is weird to get used to. Also, the dodge heavy shouldn’t do 25 anymore cause it’s faster. Make it like 18 and I think it’s a great rework

Hear me out, bring back old dragon dodge. While going through the dodge, if you tap heavy early, you’ll throw your heavy early but it’s unfeintable and does 20 dmg. If you dodge heavy, you keep dancing. Make the kick hard and soft feintable.
Or instead of being able to throw the heavy early on the dragon dodge, let him cancel the dragon dodge early with a new top light to punish bashes

Why block or parry when you can dodge Two attacks and then hit your foe. Hence why slow dodge heavy should stay
Personally, I think the changes look great. It really makes Tiandi live up to the dodge-specialist role. Only major tweaks would be to fix the pseudo- pin animation on the kick follow-up and to either revert the dragon dodge heavy, or give JJ the same treatment.
Tiandi was my main for a long time and was my third rep 70. I like the rework but imo it could use a few changes. Imo scrap the dragon dodge changes entirely. It doesn't need to be used as a punish, since its primary use is for stalling in team fights and countering variable timing mixups, which it accomplishes better in the live version. Instead, the input window for tiger dodge should be increased so it can more reliably punish bashes. Damage on the kick follow up should come down a bit.
This is the only good take. TG seemed really strong too

i am of the opinion "faster atttacks and more mixup/flow is good" so i think these are good changes. i always use the example of watch a lawbro and a warlord fight then watch a pirate and raider right or orochi and aramusha etc etc. any of the rework chars usually have more enjoyable gameplay to watch rather then staring at your opponent simulator. i would adjust the damage he has since hes like orochi now and can bombard you with tons of attacks in a short amount time. i see alot of ppl disliking playing against him but from my time on the tg i can say i enjoy this tiandi way way more. i feel like im fighting a dodge specialist rather then some china man that screams alot. just my opinion tho i realize im in the minority
I see quite a few people complaining about this rework but few complain about how broken and annoying the pirate is.

If anything, Tiandi feels less like water than he used to.
The dodge heavy just fels like any other dodge heavy now, just feintable. Due to the dodge cancels, the heavy finishers don't feel nearly as heavy, and the light finishers don't feel as elastic as they used to. The dodge forward bahs is just the same mindless offense they slap onto every hero's kit. the feintable kick now makes it a copy/paste of Shaolin's sweep, except youy just need one heavy to get into it. They've removed everything that made him feel unique, and i really don't enjoy him in this state

ubi does not play their own game. They always say that they want to encourage attacking more, but they just give heroes tools that makes them be able to get away with everything and make everything safe. it's the same with orochi, there is no such thing as your turn, you have to guess to try and have a chance to take back your turn. It's nor very fair and I think the game should reward good reactions rather than blind luck by guessing on 50/50s (it's more like 25/25/25/25s now lol)

In order to keep his flow and make him feel more defensive I have a rework idea.
Tiandi Rework:
-Neutral bash is now 500ms
-Soft feint dodge heavy into palm bash (400ms)
-Kick it's self does 20 damage.
-Improved hitbox on finisher heavy
-Hyperarmor on finisher heavy (activates at 400ms)
This is all I think he need to be a viable option cause with a soft feint to bash on his dodge heavy he is able to access his access his offense from defense or from neutral.
