    In this DLD20 talk, William Li, CEO and co-founder of the Angionesis Foundation, makes a compelling case for how food impacts our health defenses by drawing from studies that show the benefits of foods, like soy and cooked tomatoes, in fighting cancer.
    According to a study published in the British Journal The Lancet, for example, 11 million deaths were attributed to dietary risk factors, such as the low-intake of fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and whole grains, in 2017.
    “The technology that nature laced in the food is meeting the technology that we have within our body”, Li says. “This is really the future-forward way to think about food technology as we undergo innovation. Not just inventing new technologies, but really understanding the technologies that exist already, we're hacking into the body and trying to understand what happens when you combine these forces together.”
    More than 200 speakers and 1300 attendees touched base at #DLD20. For the 16th time, “Europe‘s hottest conference” brought together the most influential opinion-makers, industry leaders, start-ups, and digital giants in Munich, on January 18-20, 2020.

    My mom died of cancer, her cancer doctors , team that was treating her never mentioned or recommended diet or foods that would help kill the spread she died of chemo, cancer weak drained depleted immune system I believe food prevention is the route of all wellness.🙏

    Although angiogenesis is not a new term to me, it captured my eyeballs until I came across an on-line lecture given by Dr. William Li. Not only he saved his ma’s life, he presented to us the new revolution in the medical field. Yoshinori Ohsumi's concept of autophagy (cell recycling) made him won the 2016 Nobel Prize, William’s work will be essentially the same important as autophagy. We are entering the era using our daily food to control our health and cure our diseases.

      yes I have RP and stumbled upon this doing research , and I am convinced that because of the my diet and way of life that slowed down the progression of the RP as I learn more , I am more fascinated ….
      Food as medicine , fasting , saves lives literally.

    Thank you Dr. Li you are Gifted with knowledge that shares through out the world.Very well explained which have started for the last 3 weeks eat alot of garden foods /fruits.My cholesterol is normal now.Was 95kg now down to 91.04kg.

      Most of what he covers has been known and talked about for years esp by MDs/researchers in the plant based field. He does bring another aspect to it which is great and always needed. Look up Dr. Michael Greger, Dr John McDougall, Dr Colin T Campbell. Also search gut health and micro biome for many well researched books incl Fiber Fueled, Diet Microbiome and health etc.or Google ‘microbiome Health and studies’ incl meta analysis. There are no heroes we’re all just human.

    My son and I had COVID 19 positive over Christmas, 2020...wake up call while quaranting, (the both of us), watching utube videos on changing our diet..
    Findings is in 2021 foods in the workforce hadn't much changed, would like to see more fruits and veggies in the workforce, still not happening...

    It goes back to Hippocrates "Let thy food be thy medicine, let thy medicine be thy food." We have so many "food like products" in our "modern" American culture, often we don't even know the difference.

    Whole Plant Base the way to go. Medication has its place but diet should be the forefront.

    In addition to eating good for health, how about intermittent fasting? Saves money, saves time, and good for health.

      It has shown to have benefits but also risks. Nobel prize winner for autophagy Yoshinori Ohsumi admitted only 20-30% is known about its effects (pos/negative long term/short term.) Good studies showing mostly whole food plant-based diets have same benefits to fasting. Fasting/IF isn’t safe for everyone: those are on certain drugs incl prednisone, diabetic and glucose mgmt drugs, those w/diseases incl Addison’s, T1 diabetes etc and anyone w/history of eating disorders. It’s not a panacea for everyone and hasn’t been fully studied yet.

      @@jmc8076 Do you have links to negatives of short term fasting (for example eat in 6-hour window, and 18-hour fasting)? In fact, that is what many Buddhist monks (South Asian and South-east Asian countries who practice Theravada) do, eat breakfast after walking up and lunch (must be before 12 noon) and no meal until next morning. Including Dalai Lama, they do this entire monk life.

    As a Christian i find that God does not always go into finer details when it comes to food and body parts, i could be wrong, but what I find God said, Genesis 1:29 And God said, "See , I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, and every fruit yields seed, to you it shall be for food, NKJV. It's only requires obedient and faith in His Word, I don't believe in mother nature or evolution, I believe in the Creator God, and man have tried to understand God's created power, and healing through His creation, when we as human beings try to improve on God's creation we get diseased, I'm so grateful for doctors like Dr William Li, because there are lots of good doctors out there, who bring lights on real health, to save our disease body as a result of too much chemicals in process food, and a host of man made stuff that harmful to our body, I prefer food as my medicine, I have experienced the healing power of plant, seen it and used in my life, I was healthy up to my late 30s and this doctor gave an injection for a painful spur, I developed type 2 diabetes as a result, and since then i lost my trust in mordern medicine, I'm a retired RN, Thank God for doctors like Dr William Li, Jason Fung, and a lots of sincere doctors out there. Keep on the good work, maybe one day we will have fewer hospitals and healthier generation 😊

    I have high cholesterol and have been told to eat no to minimal amounts of oil. I notice that some of your recipes have olive oil in them. Won't this have a negative effect on my cholesterol?

    I have parkinsons disease have been on a plant diet for 2years but no change on 11 tablets a day if I dont take them I can't walk can you please give me some advice

    Lancet's EAT diet is tainted information. That 'report' was shown to be less than truthful in data treatment and untenable conclusions taken. Credibility is earned, not postured. Interesting work is Dr. Li's.

      The food we eat is getting so toxin that when we fast we become more healthy feel better, heal , by means of starvation most food sources are industry that lie on how it's cultivated put labels on it where it tricks you into spending time, money on unhealthy choices, local farmers are being replaced , mass production foster McDonald's, fast food ever street corner Don't forget add last doctors bill in with your dollar menus receipt add gas wasted at drive thru.
