I'll always love these videos, but if touring bands are going to continue pushing into the modeling territory, it really requires a patch breakdown. It wouldn't have to be the most in-depth, but it would make it much more interesting than the entire amp section of these videos being Kemper, Axe FX, or Helix.
@@ooferrellSeems like it goes against the mystique when essentially you're describing 0's and 1's. If you want to know the patches, just buy them from the artist. I also just realized that patches have retail value, so they probably don't want to share those for free on UA-cam.
I had a great conversation with Oli before he was taken from us after a pro session he did at a friends guitar store. He was using the Kemper Profiler and talking with him convinced me to get one and I love the versatility and the accuracy of the tones. But one thing I've struggled with is maintaining volume discipline when moving frtom profile to profile. I have the Kemper Rack and use a Crown Macrotech 9000i to power my four Marshall 1960 cabs equipped with the Celestion Kemper Kone 12's for big shows and for more sane venues I use just a Crown XTi2002 for power and one Marshall 1960A with the Kones. For some reason though I'll set all my volumes at sound check for all the profiles I'll use for the gig but they all go haywire if I have to adjust the power amp volume at all in mid show. No 2 profiles give me the same volume level once I change the power amp volumes so I'm constantly working my volume pedal or my volume pots on the axes when I switch profiles. I experimented with the Kemprer for half a year and after a lot of pain and embarrassment, I went back to just using my JVM 410 heads in half stacks with the gold Celestion 50's. I use the Kemper in the studio and in controlled environments still but no longer for live shows. I have friends that swear by the Axe FX and I've been thinking that maybe I should give it a shot.
@@stonedome93 Yeah but it’s also a different scale length and 20in radius. It’s specific to Marks spec. I like the standard spec on the custom 24 just wish they offered it in a hardtail.
@@stonedome93 Yeah it’s just not the same though. I use to own a 2016 custom 24 but I’m just not a fan of trems. Years ago they use to offer it in a stoptail. Hasn’t been since the 90’s though. They have offered the custom 22 as a stoptail but only briefly I believe in 2013.
I've got an honest question for Premier Guitar: What determines whether or not you include the bass player in these rig rundowns? Do you always ask everyone to participate, or do you generally approach the guitar players and then if there's time you do one for the bass player as well? Been wondering about it for a while, since it seems so arbitrary whether or not the bass players get included or not. Hope to see even more of the low-end guys going forward :)
We always try to include the bassist during our Rig Rundown shoots. Typically two things happen that omit the low-end coverage: (1st) The bassist politely declines-either because they're camera shy or feel their simple setups are not "worthy" of a Rundown. (2nd) We run out of time (only so much wiggle room to fit set up and soundchecks for 2, 3, and sometimes 4 bands, so we do prioritize guitar setups in a time-crunch situation. Thanks for understanding and reaching out with a reasonable question and not fingerpointing that we HATE bass. Appreciate the love and support. We got a few coming up featuring bass (Mammoth WVH and The War on Drugs) -PG
Paul has different deals depending on the guitarist. Some are allowed to still play other brands. Some just pay cost on a USA Core Model(which is super cheap. Less than an SE in most cases). He looks like he has a few Private Stocks in there.
Man, I love these rundowns. I'm pretty sure I've seen every single one. But..... I seriously don't want to see any more that have axe fx, or helix, etc. They are getting so boring with artists that use modelers. I'll watch the guitar section, then once they get to the "amps" , and it's an axe fx, I lose all interest. Sorry, it's just boring as hell

Nail, meet head.
I want to say they used to do that back in The day when AXEFX was a thing that was new... I don't know why they stopped.

@@9unslin9erhow is this different from showing each pedal and amp setting fam? They should just do it. The magic is in the playing, not the knobs

This band deserves more love. The Fall Of Ideals and Overcome are great albums
💯!
'Forever Albums' as I like to say 🤘🏻
Two of my very favorite albums of all time. Listen to them almost everytime I hit the gym. RIP to their original lead guitarist.
Complete agree on the Custom 24 with a TOM or stop tail... PRS would sell a billion +1... id buy that
Mike...a man of my own heart with the prs's
This darkened heart is one of the greatest albums of all time.
thats the fall of ideals
I use the Ernie ball primo set which is 9.5-12-16-24-34-44. The turbo set is 9.5-12-16-26-36-46.
Fun Fact. PRS strings are actually D'addario strings in PRS packaging.
I just got that Majora❤❤❤ insane top...really comfortable to play...neck is smooth and beautiful!
What a beautiful guitars you have!

Stop tail custom 24 would sell a lot.
Really wish PRS would offer the Custom 24 in a hardtail. 6:06 is the TRUTH.
The holcomb se is basically a custom 24 with a hardtail

Its a shame so many bass players feel their gear isn't worthy. Any gear talk is interesting, even a boring P bass into a rental ampeg can have a story
@@premierguitar if someone hates bass players, does that make them a bassist?
