The answer is D.
D is correct, because between 3 and 7 they're infinity numbers
Y cannot be negative. We have limits.
Rewrite the inequality in terms of y² as
A. Writing the inequality twice as 3 < |y| < 7 and 3 < |y| < 7
B. Multiply the extremes as 3×3, 3×7, 7×3 and 7×7.
C. Choose the highest and lowest values in (B) above as 9 and 49
D. Hence,
9 < y² < 49
Back to the options A and B,
Subtract 5 from both options.
Qa= y²
Qb= 45
From (D) above, y² is between 9 and 49 hence y² can be greater than, equal to or less than 45.
Hence D
Answer should be D
d is correct
answer is A is greater because if we take the value of y as 8.9 then the value is 52.27 which is greater than 50
Stay tuned! 😀
No try for different value between 3 and 7 answer will be d
@@geoschool2022 brother if you try the value of "y" as 6.9 then the expression value is (6.9) square plus 5....hence the value becomes 47.61 + 5 which is 52.61 and hence the answer will be A....since 6.9 is less than 7 and so 52.61 is always greater than 50
Mid way of writing this answer i got my mistake...shoot
the value if taken as 4.1 will be less than 50 then it is NOT ALWAYS greater than 50....i got your point...crazy as to how GRE tricks us
THE ANSWER IS D hence it cannot be determined
@@pranavtiwari125hey big head, y could also be 3.1. Plug that in. Is that bigger than 50? You needa add 50 pound of muscle baby!
D
How do I find the answer? I don’t see the other video
Hi! D is the correct answer. You can find the solution in part 2 of this video at ua-cam.com/users/shortsygakdFJL5eQ
@@MagooshGREwell it’s tough to get to part 2 with link here. Better to keep in one video.
My answer:
If 3
This is incorrect, nowhere does it state that we can only use integers, y could be 3.000001 or 6.99999 for all we know, if we plug these in we can see that A or B could be greater, meaning the answer cannot be determined
@@heatherbrm Oh wow, good to know this. I will postpone my test 1 month to study more 😮
@@heatherbrm However I should point out that 7x7 is 49 which is still smaller than B, so 6.9 would still be smaller.
@@AlexS-oj8qf yeah bud, but it's not asking what 7x7 is, its asking what 7x7 plus 5 is. that would be 54, so A would be larger than B.
D
