Call of Pripyat still one of my all time favorite games. No other game has such an extraordinary atmosphere, it's my favorite thing about these games and it's what makes STALKER so unique. STALKER 2 looks like it's going to need a 6700XT or 3060 TI.
Yeah and the original stalker games had a real style on soviet builds, it felt very authentic and very real, idk but for me it made it somewhat scarier since it gave the truthfulness that most of these places are old and abandoned or semi abandoned, even with the super old graphics, the floors, the walls, everything seemed very authentic. Stalker 2 looks kinda plain, even though the graphics are there, the look and design in itself seems plain, and idk why does everything look so flashy and oily/wet, it is like every surface has been oiled and the lighting reflects in a kinda weird way
The scariest shit ever was fighting through the tunnel on the way to Pripyat in complete darkness with only a flashlight with the boys. The only light you had was from your flashlight, or from gunfire. Monsters were jumping off the ceilings, off the walls right into your shit. The whole situation was a run/gun/panic racing towards the end of the tunnel. That event was the most memorable moment of the entire series for me.

If it's Bandits vs Loners (or Clear sky vs Renegades), you start with a only a shotgun or a pistol and you must scavenge for ammo and medkits, fight each other and hunt artifacts with a detector (For a true STALKER experience) and whichever team gets the most Artifacts wins. The rarer the artifacts, the higher the point to win 2.) Traders will be part of the co op, they don't take a side, they buy and sell from anyone. You can sell your equipment or artifacts for money to buy higher tier weapons or medkits but you risk your team to losing to the other team due to lack of artifacts 3.) 1 or 2 emissions will occur in the battle and the two sides must fight for territory (building or basement) to hide from the emission. Players that get exposed to emissions will die on the spot and with their inventory will be lootable, but if they have a psy helmet (Probably buyable from traders), they will become zombiefied STALKERS that attack anyone they come across and the players won't be able to control them anymore, forcing their teammates to kill them (To make it seem that the STALKER is nothing more then an empty shell of it's former self and to give the feeling of mortality) 4.) I remember I read NEWS In one of gaming magazine "Not well known studio from Ukraine making game in climat of Chernobyl". It was 2002. I said to myself that can be fun. I was 11 years old. Now Im still in love in this series. I recomend to all of u play it even once. Add also mods like Misery. Amazing experience. Dont shit yourself while playing at night with headphones.

Yep, first builds had even more fps than Quake3, and where much more wideworld and detailed. Up to a million polygons in a snapshot, easily run on my old Celeron 1.7 Ghz, Radeon 9200.
I'm Russian and we in the CIS really like this game for the atmosphere and the plot I've been playing for 10 years, but I didn't even know that foreigners also love it
I'm Ukrainian too, and proud of this games. Also all post-soviet people have deep nostalgy of realistic desighn of this game, cause devs spent much time of capturing textures and shapes of real surfaces, architechture and objects. Not just piece of game art, but unique atmosphere. Also big "tnx" to ruzgy scum, who are support terrorism and invasive war at 95%, transforming most of our state into a real warzone. That's causing delay of this game for unknown amount of years and sanctioned distrubute restrictions for peedorushkas.
Seeing Stalker 2 in an early 2021 build is really getting me hyped. I started the stalker games around 3 mounts ago and Im really looking forward to Heart of Chornobyl. I have some really high expectations for it. And do wish that the game is better then Stalker gamma mod. I mean Im saving up for the Ultimate Edition. I hope that in the span of 3 years the devs try out and fix all of the bugs there is. Respect for the workers that are spending time getting this as soon as possible done for Stalker 2.
Tarkov wishes it was Stalker: Anomaly but it never will be. Tarkov is a joke from a technical standpoint. Poorly cobbled together on Unity with speghetti netcode.

With the SPAS-12, why do you aim OVER the rear sight instead of THROUGH it?! Why can't you aim pistols?! Why can't you aim most grenade launchers?! Zoom in place of aim doesn't belong in an FPS game made after 2007. And why is it that ShoC got these things right while Clear Sky got them wrong? And why did that wrongness carry over into CoP?! 5:15 You'd never find a flat-top rifle out in the field with no sights on it. At the very least, it would have iron sights. The only time you find rifles without sights is at a gun shop, and you're expected to put your own sights on it (sold separately). This "sightless rifle" trend has carried over from movies to video games. The moment flat-top receivers with full-length Picatinny rails became a thing, movie people started using them without sights for no reason. So of course, that carried over into video games, mostly because video games are informed by movies rather than real research or through the use of consultants who actually know stuff (which is also why folding and collapsible stocks and foregrips are often left in their storage position in movies and video games). 5:39 Man of culture.
Ignoring the fact that that rifle was literally sitting in an armory in a bandit camp and not "out in the field", so having the scope removed is no big deal; Who's to say that the sights weren't snatched off of the gun by a stalker after it was left there? I've had plenty of moments in stalker salvaging parts like the scope off of a gun but leaving the gun itself where it lies.

It is a mod, not part of the original development. They could have put a ton of mods like Oblivion Lost, Complete 2009, AA2, Sigerous mod, OGSR, Lost Alpha, Misery, CoC, Dead Air(and many more). Safe to say, there are a ton of good mods made before Anomaly, and all of them deserve a play.
Year 2012 was the year my friend who understood nothing about games gave me the CD of call of Pripyat....now is the year 2022 and I have played all 3 games plus tried 15+ mods...this week was the my first try on stalker anomaly..... waiting for stalker 2 patiently.
I just hope that this isn't going to be another "living, breathing world" that is ultimately more focused on game mechanics for the sake of marketing than actual substance. I don't want a nothing burger like CyberFuck. I want S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, in all it's glory.

Stalker 2's trailer really has the heart of what I want, but it scares me to think that what I saw was a tech demo and the final product is going to look nothing like it. Of course my hopes aren't sky high, thinking its going to be the best game ever, but if it could be at least half of my expectations, that would be great.

@real pedroppp It's actually a safe bet, IDK if you have been to the site but they don't even take a dime until the first million in profits and after that they only take 5%. So if your game flops or doesn't sell well you won't go bankrupt. This is actually one of the reasons why even large companies that have good game engines have been switching over to UE5.

Stalker only hard because of the crash to desktop anomalies (feature, not a bug) and missing important NPC/item anomalies (again, a feature, not a bug)
Stalker games are actually easy, SoC is pretty damn easy on master once you get the fast shooting AK or a vintar.

People who played one of their first forgotten games like codename outbreak or firestarter would see the striking resemblances and outright reused models and mechanics, they wanted to emulate what was very popular at the time, quake.

Yep, first builds had even more fps than Quake3, and where much more wideworld and detailed. Up to a million polygons in a snapshot, easily run on my old Celeron 1.7 Ghz, Radeon 9200.

I'm Ukrainian too, and proud of this games. Also all post-soviet people have deep nostalgy of realistic desighn of this game, cause devs spent much time of capturing textures and shapes of real surfaces, architechture and objects. Not just piece of game art, but unique atmosphere.
Also big "tnx" to ruzgy scum, who are support terrorism and invasive war at 95%, transforming most of our state into a real warzone. That's causing delay of this game for unknown amount of years and sanctioned distrubute restrictions for peedorushkas.

Seeing Stalker 2 in an early 2021 build is really getting me hyped. I started the stalker games around 3 mounts ago and Im really looking forward to Heart of Chornobyl.
I have some really high expectations for it. And do wish that the game is better then Stalker gamma mod. I mean Im saving up for the Ultimate Edition.
I hope that in the span of 3 years the devs try out and fix all of the bugs there is.
Respect for the workers that are spending time getting this as soon as possible done for Stalker 2.

Zoom in place of aim doesn't belong in an FPS game made after 2007. And why is it that ShoC got these things right while Clear Sky got them wrong? And why did that wrongness carry over into CoP?!
5:15 You'd never find a flat-top rifle out in the field with no sights on it. At the very least, it would have iron sights. The only time you find rifles without sights is at a gun shop, and you're expected to put your own sights on it (sold separately). This "sightless rifle" trend has carried over from movies to video games. The moment flat-top receivers with full-length Picatinny rails became a thing, movie people started using them without sights for no reason. So of course, that carried over into video games, mostly because video games are informed by movies rather than real research or through the use of consultants who actually know stuff (which is also why folding and collapsible stocks and foregrips are often left in their storage position in movies and video games).

Ignoring the fact that that rifle was literally sitting in an armory in a bandit camp and not "out in the field", so having the scope removed is no big deal; Who's to say that the sights weren't snatched off of the gun by a stalker after it was left there? I've had plenty of moments in stalker salvaging parts like the scope off of a gun but leaving the gun itself where it lies.

They forgot STALKER Anomaly, though I guess it isn't considered canon.
It is a mod, not part of the original development. They could have put a ton of mods like Oblivion Lost, Complete 2009, AA2, Sigerous mod, OGSR, Lost Alpha, Misery, CoC, Dead Air(and many more). Safe to say, there are a ton of good mods made before Anomaly, and all of them deserve a play.

Year 2012 was the year my friend who understood nothing about games gave me the CD of call of Pripyat....now is the year 2022 and I have played all 3 games plus tried 15+ mods...this week was the my first try on stalker anomaly..... waiting for stalker 2 patiently.
I just hope that this isn't going to be another "living, breathing world" that is ultimately more focused on game mechanics for the sake of marketing than actual substance. I don't want a nothing burger like CyberFuck. I want S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, in all it's glory.

@real pedroppp It's actually a safe bet, IDK if you have been to the site but they don't even take a dime until the first million in profits and after that they only take 5%. So if your game flops or doesn't sell well you won't go bankrupt. This is actually one of the reasons why even large companies that have good game engines have been switching over to UE5.
