Mark, nice video and it absolutely looked like y'all both had a good time, and that's what really matters, having a good time. I've been watching your channel for sometime now and between you and Shane (MagicYaker), y'all have taught me a lot. I use to feel really uncomfortable fishing plastics and other lures, now that y'all showed and helped me, I rarely use reg., bait. Thank you brother, and keep the videos coming. Til then...Tight lines never stop!
MDLR Fishing , anytime brother. Once again, I would really like to Thank you for protecting all of us. Without our forces, we probably wouldn't carry the privledge to do things freely, e.g.,fishing. Thank you again ma friend...goimg back to work now, til then...Tight lines never stop!
That area looks familiar. I generally fish the west shoreline marshes because I don't have 4 wheel drive, but sometimes I'll peddle down that way in the kayak, (if you are where I think you are.) I shy away from the 1/6th oz lead heads unless there is no wind and the water is really shallow. I find that I can often trigger a strike with and 1/8 or 1/4 oz by just casting a bit away from the fish and letting him come to it. I have cannonballed a heavy super spook 15' away from the red and watch him come and crush it. The heavier baits help me cover twice as much water. But I'm throwing 30lb braid with a leader, so you probably get more distance with your 1/16th oz stuff than I would. I get less back lashes with heavier braid and it's way easier to get the backlash out with 30lb than it is with even 15 lb braid. I got in 3 trips last week. 5 trout, 3 reds and 3 flounder Monday. 8 reds Saturday to 32". Wednesday was slower with 2 flounder, 1 trout and 2 reds. I'm only counting keepers. Fall fishing is heating up. If you ever see an old faded red Hobie Revolution 13, come say hi.
Great video Mark. I'm still pretty new to kayak fishing but I've learned a lot from your channel. It's funny that "Wild Kayaker" asked about MDLR, I was wondering AND thinking the same thing, LOL. Keep them videos coming and be safe bro!!!
Love seeing a tale then pulling out a fish. Great work out there. Next time I go BTB you should come. I can loan you a little heavier rod to grab some monsters with. Keep it rolling.
I’ve got some heavy gear but honestly haven’t found anything worth bringing it out for yet. My little Calcutta’s need to get spooled then I’ll bring out the big boys. Let me know when you do the btb thing and if the weather is good I’ll join you.
if you haven't, look into adding the Mirrodine in Mardi Gras trout pattern. deadly is an understatement... it is one of my go to lures and would jump in the water to get it if it snags. I had one gifted to me once by a generous donor and if the fish don't eat it, I assume the fish aren't eating. your video editing is on point. thanks for the fishing eyeball candy!
MDLR Fishing sorry dude, i dont use either, but here is mine on photobucket. They also sell them at BassPro for about 9 bucks, and you get militay discount! The guy that gave me mine was a Mirrolure rep here in Jacksonville, Fl. s199.photobucket.com/user/normgm/media/20170830_143108.jpg.html
