We all heard of butterfingers but now get ready for buttergrippers! Seriously though this rig needs to hit the shop ASAP because retrieving a hoppered cart at almost every stop gets old fast.

The ASL's are problematic due to the many moving parts and it sucks when their not working properly, I had two brand new ASL's one was an 2017 Mack/Heil with the rapid rail arm, other was an 2020 Mack/EZ Pack also with the rapid rail arm both arms gave problems. But I'm glad this one was repaired.
I was a cnc machine operator at dana/hyco for 11 yrs we built cylinders for garbage beds heil, ez pak, leech lot of other dump druck beds crysteel, heil tishamingo in MS heil garbage beds are made in ft payne alabama
Our mechanics at wm In nor cal, had our arms and grabbers tuned perfectly. Same arm as this truck . He's trying to grab the smaller cans near the top so it's slightly wider because the grabbers won't close all the way , won't squeeze right . That's a horrible way to work ,look at all the down time cleaning up and pulling cans out of the hopper ? When you climb in there , or even climb up on the truck AT ALL , you have to tag out lock out . Every time .
@@TruckMaster642 I recently took my old truck back after it's been a spare for two months or more. It's a Heil half pack odyssey automated front loader. The internal sensor in the front fork cylinder has gone bad. Once the hydraulics warm up the sensor fails and the Curotto bucket won't dump or undump properly. I have to turn off the auto dump feature and run it like a regular front loader. It wasn't designed to be ran like that so it's very problematic. I had a brand new Heil Python but we are extremely understaffed from Covid19 right now so all yardwaste trucks won't be running until probably fall and we have to pick up the yardwaste as we pick up the trash. In the Python that wasn't the easiest thing to do so I gave that truck back and took my old Curotto Can truck back. The guy who's been driving it gladly gave it back because he doesn't have the skillset to run that truck when the sensor fails nor did he know why it wasn't working so he takes the truck back in and gets another truck every day. I'll make it work until a new cylinder with a good internal sensor comes in.

I can immediately see the problem,The claw doesn't have rubber grips on it,It's WM and the automizers where they leave the claws with out rubber grips.

So What happened was one of the sensors on the arm broke and he told me that all day it was fine but it was in combination with the rain that made the carts fall in. To be honest I don’t know why it broke and am sure that it’s not the drivers fault.
Stuff breaks, picking up trash is hard on equipment and no matter how much money you spend on equipment, how well they build it and how hard you focus on not breaking it it will always break.
I have ran one for 20 years and haven’t dropped that many in the hopper in The whole 20 years. He also doesn’t have the rubber on his forks that keep it from slipping.
I’ve worked a truck like that… unfortunately some of them are real lemons no matter how new they are. Ends up being pretty expensive replacing all those carts.
Looks like the gripper is out of adjustment. Someone will need to take a few minutes to troubleshoot and correct. It's definitely not suppose to do that.
Yes. The driver showed me what broke it was a sensor that had snapped around 10am. Sucks that he had to deal with it and hoper all of these carts. Luckily they took it back to Mack and it was fixed and inspected in under 3 days
Can i ask why the driver didnt down the truck for not operating properly? Whats the point of continuously dumping cans in hopper? I assume the driver had to try and remove them no?
Idk probably cuz he ily had an hour of the route left and only 1 out of 5 carts fell . The video is just the fails. Probably quick just to deal with the problem
What does that garbage truck has problems because the problem that it has that I’m seeing the clot is like going up when I kind of see the driver put the claw up then just slips through and goes into the garbage truck
He put it under there because the original can he had the trash and was too small and it was gonna fall in either way so he put it in the recycle bin so the driver could have a better grip on it rather than the small can just hopper

Just so were clear, we (MACK) only build the truck and frame, then ship to a "BODY SHOP" the customer chooses to have that company install Dump,Flatbed,Roll-off,Tri-axle,crane,cement pump w/e they need.

I think this was happening because the driver was grabbing the top of the bins so when he dumped it the can slipped and then the grabbers grip was to big causing the bin to fall into hopper. I also think the rain had something to do with the grip. You can also see that the grabbers had a good grip on the can when he grabbed the middle part of the can.

It is obvious that the bucket grip is quite loose & not working properly. The rubbis truck should be sent to the service centre to have the bucket grip system repaired, adjusted and inspected thoroughly for any faulty or loose parts before the rubbish truck can be used again.
Ya he obviously had more of a chance of holding the toter up.where it is wider which actually made sense. Kudos to WM driver for doing what he can with what he had to work with.
Why would you continue to deal with that all day? Take the truck in, or have the service truck come change the proximity sensor if you know that’s the problem.
This truck is certainly screwed up, usually labries are supposed to squeez the cart a lot. If I was the driver, I would have called the mechanic and ask for him to fix the truck lol

Nope, the rain doesn't have anything to do with bins being dropped it's due to the claw not gripping the bins at the right strength

No the people at the beginning were cool and I wish the bought rehrigs instead of cascades. These ones keep breaking.

No the problem was that one of the sensors broke the truck was brand new. The sensor wasn’t allowing the claw to grip the bins.

Looks like arm mid height limit switch is out of adjustment. Keeping a finger on the gripper close button helps if that happens

i would say its not just the truck but partly fault of the driver gripping the can right at the top seems very odd

We’ll the blade wasn’t working so he was able to climb up and get them all. It does take time with the lock out tag out Rules tho
