What another whirlwind week on call! As always, I brought you along for the ride. This definitely wasn't an ordinary week on call. It was full of late nights and even a full day of LIVE cases broadcasted around the world. It was a really long week and I didn't get much sleep, but it was still weirdly a bit fun! Anyways, hope you all enjoy my interventional radiology vlogs! Let me know if you want me to keep making them!
DISCLAIMER: Live cases were were broadcasted to the world during our live case symposium. All patient information and privacy was protected for our patients.

Came for the new video notification, stayed for the lock breaking tutorial.
Never know what you’re gonna get 🤣🤣
A quick wack with a hammer 🔨 would have also broke the lock free.
*Becomes a Doctor*
Sleep: Alright I’m gonna head out
Saving lives and picking locks. Doc Cellini is built different.
LOL!
Insane how high level you have to function with so little sleep.
Dr. Cellini always looks tired, but maintains cool and collected. I think I would snap the minute my locker malfunctioned.
Plot twist. turned out it wasn't his locker, but he was so tired that he didn't see the difference.
Lol that would've sucked.
This had to have been the hardest 7-day call rotation you’ve shown. The middle of the week was brutal.
I love how he doesn’t sugar coat or beat around the bush . Total inspiration
Did I really rush here to watch my favorite doctor ASAP?
Yes
100%
I’ve just finished my first week on call as well !
Im a nurse in interventional radiology and neuro radiology in Australia
Finally being able to turn your phone on silent and sleep guilt free is probably the best feeling!
Barely running on any sleep and you still help save lives! Definitely my biggest inspiration 😇 Thank you for all you do!
You are my absolute favorite UA-camr!
I decided to change careers from corporate America to healthcare (nursing or pa not to sure yet), going back to school has been rough but watching your videos has help kept me motivated. Hopefully, one day I can be able to help others in ways I would have never imagined myself doing.
When Dr. Cellini says he didn’t get called in
Me: f*ck yeah, wooooo
I am in awe of you and the millions of individuals around the world like you. Thank you for all you do and have a wonderful life!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
The bags under your eyes omg being a doctor really takes it’s toll on you. Hope you’re ok doctor
WHY ISNT THAT POP CAN TRICK WELL KNOWN. that would have been so useful in junior high when I kept forgetting my lock combo
I thought it was so cool seeing you and the other doctors doing a procedure! I’m a nursing student and I think I want to be an OR nurse, so I enjoyed seeing that short clip!
More to come soon 😉
I started watching your channel about a month ago after becoming more interested in medicine, and I fell in love with your videos. Such an inspiration. Keep up the hard work!
I went on a much needed vacation (no call 🤗) and returned to find out we’re no longer doing covid testing for procedures. The admin decided that we’re just treating everyone as they have it (as you should) and leaving the tests for “emergencies.” We were, also, told that it’s no longer going to be a priority when the patient comes through the ER. Also, the only drawback of working at a large facility is the number of callbacks, which I don’t miss!
*_Only New York can have sunshine_* 🌞😅
You’ve motivated me to go and shadow a radiologist at my local hospital! What a cool field of medicine
Did you have to volunteer first?
Since when I found your channel, I'm always looking forward to the next video like I would expect the new episode of a tv show. Sometimes (and this is a secret please don't tell anyone) even more than the tv show. Every video has something unique and it's always interesting.
Great content and you have the best job ever! 😊
I just got done with some of the fall term classes. The remaining of them are coming up soon in the meanwhile; I am binge-watching every single episodes.
That’s a good plan!
awesome video, ESIR resident getting a glimpse of the fellow life, appreicate it
I love this channel and it worth more than being recommended for only medical doctors and students. Learning from you have motivated me to start my personal channel, with hope that one day it'll be great. More power to you Sir.
Thx so much!
Nice
👍
Well said
Great
U tube itself sent me your channel
to check out ... Prob cause I watch lots of medical variety. just want to say after watching 3-4 vlogs...
You guys are so wonderful!
and I want to thank you for your front line service in NYCity during
the Covid Pandemic.
I’ve lived in Nevada since 1994 and am originally from Boston, MA. I do notice a hugh difference in medical care between a democratic state MA and a right to work state like NV.
I needed to travel to UCLA CA for
2 major surgeries to get that higher level of surgical expertise.
I and all my family had Polio 1955.
We all recovered years later but similar to Covid Longhaulers some polio survivors came down with PostPolio ( the after effects of polio ). Short synopsis...polio...
a very contagious disease like covid. A neuromuscular disease with 3 subsets... long story short our nerves regenerated forming small nerve branches but these tiny nerves were not as strong as our original nerves so they gave out decades later. For me it was 50 yes fifty years later and I was hit harder 2nd time around.
So, I m still trying to survive for the last 15 years. If you re interested Dr Bruno wrote a good book on this.
Please stay safe! You are both exposed to Covid daily. I know you are both smart but I would advise you both to do every precaution moreover X 2 . Young people think they can fight Covid easily but I m here to say I believe after effects are possible from my experience.
Anyway, I m enjoying your channel!
Can not wait to see the NYork apt
all set up with a view no less...
I m guessing the rent is over 3+ Grand? how close am I ?
windows facing south oh that s
another 500 •$ haha
Astonishing work
Omg how cool was that unlocking your lock?! Never heard of that. Gosh why do they think a week on call is healthy? Yes u looked tired and yes u rocked another week on call! Always happy to see your vlogs😊
Loved this I felt tired just watching it but hard work you ave an amazing job ✌🏼😁🇬🇧
I’ve been watching your videos the majority of the day and literally lol 😂 at the breaking into the locker
I am a subscriber of the “lockpicking lawyer”
I see that I now also am a subscriber of “lockpicking doctor” 😀
Good god, i have a toddler and I'm pregnant again and I'm planning to start my residency (training in UK) next year and i can't imagine going through this with children 😭😭
Dr. Cellini we need a female perspective with young children that's getting the same rota as you!
You finally show your new coffee maker YAY! Love it!
How long do you want to be on call?
Dr Cellini: yes
on this episode celini teaches us how to break into lockers...hell yeah
Early squad! The coffee looked so good!
Man wht a relief watching this in between classes. 😂😂😂
Seven days straight... mate, how tiring! Thanks for sharing some of your experiences with us!
Dr Cellini, I know you are a super busy physician with all the amazing stuff you do. I wanted to thank you for posting videos of your life and your career! This will probably get lost in the comment section but if you have ANY TIME at all please do an live eShadowing stream with Dr Gray! We need your inspiration and words of wisdom❤️❤️❤️
Tell me more about eshadowing! Send me an email
Notification squad always here first. Also as a medical student 48 hours make me go haywire, not sure how you do 168 lol
That looks like radiography is helpful in the operating theatre. Coffee is awesome!!!
Always love the videos
gees now everyone knows how to break into each others lockers hahaha
Dang, you won’t miss that kind of call when you are an attending 🎉🎉
Your content is so great!
Thx!
Hi Dr. C. I'm one of your regulars, love all your posts and interesting tid bits. When you were moving to NYC, I'm almost positive you told us we'd be hearing from Andriana, but that hasn't happened. Will she be letting us know, one of these days, how her new job is going?
Thanks,
Linda RN, 🇨🇦
Haha she is camera shy, but as soon as she is fully on staff at her new job she will appear!
@@DrCellini ok. Thanks Dr. C. Please let her know we're all rooting for her, and BTW, what's she got to be camera shy about? Last time I saw her, she was looking pretty, darn good.🙂
Linda. RN. 🇨🇦
I watched Dr. Mike and Dr. Cellini in the SAME day. Is there anything better then that?
So happy to be this early💕💕
Now this video has been added to my liked videos! :)
Where did you get that coffee cup from it's so cool and love the video and the step by step instructions to break into a locker
It's 1230 on a Tuesday afternoon, I just poured myself a glass of wine and BAM you posted. meant 2 watch hahaha
Jealous of your Tuesday!
Im with ya there. I need a beer . off at 1 30.
@@DrCellini do you have a PO Box? would love to send you some wine from the Canadian Okanagan!
@@javiersanabria7513 hell yeah buddy, cheers!!
keep it up🙏🏽💜
LOVE your videos,, how long do the procedures take usually ?
And that right there is why I don't use those combo locks anymore. In undergrad I forgot the key to my regular (not so little) Masterlock. I tried to use that method and could not get it open because the space was so tight where the metal bar part goes into the lock. Even tried different thickness of metals since the metal working shop was down the hall and nope.
Your honestly an idol of mine
That is the cutest coffee machine! Dang now I really want to buy one! Is it worth it?
Everyone is first .....
Before they refresh 😂
Dr.cellini🔥 so excited to watch the vlog
I wasnt first! UA-cam let me down. LOL
wish i knew that trick in middleschool, would have been great for pranks on the friends
I have to ask, what about the commercial from figs? What were they thinking?
hey doc cellini 💪👍
I wanted to get that coffeepot but I heard it doesn't get your coffee that hot and also it's hard to pour the water in the back and the water spills. How do you like your coffee pot? Would you recommend? I love the look of it though! ☕
Please talk about nephrostomy tube. And also discuss fibroid embolization. Thank you
Did your youtube channel impact getting a residency/medical school? like did they see it as a pro or con? or did you keep it private
New here, I like your vid style. You got a sub.
Lmao I thought the coffee pot shot was a commercial.
Thats incredible endurance. How often do you have weeks like this one?
Everyone I’m on call lol
can we get a day in the life of adrianna as a PA
why dont hospitals build tiny efficiency apartments within or very near their quarters? this could be rented out/shared even, and give doctors and nurses naps and hot showers and meals instead of going home? (probably lots of $$$reasons why not)
there’s a doctor from Canada named chavon and she does videos but she shows their “call rooms” and it’s like a tiny hotel room in the hospital. it’s pretty cool!
Some hospitals do have those, but they’re mainly for the doctors, not staff.
@@allisonmakay3186 Wait do you mean Siobhan?
As a fellow Italian in medicine, I gotta ask where your espresso machine is at??
Too big for my NYC apartment 😜
I was also wondering this hahah. You could perhaps get a smaller Nespresso, right?
I hope I never have to have a liver embolism with a doctor who hasn't slept in six days.
so like what happens if you genuinely get sick? do they have backup doctors on call for that?
What day do you do consults for your schedule patients? Is it a thing in I.R.? Hugs from Brazil
Residents work up patients all day long while we do the cases
Hi there i just found out about your channel. I am a RT and curently trying to get by bachelors in MRI and CT. After that i really dont know what to do or how to become a radiologist. Have any tips?
❤️❤️
Whoooo one of the first here!
Good video, how many days off do you get after the 7 days straight on call ?
Zero. Started back to work Monday haha
Do you ever do something to treat yourself after that kind of stretch of work? I would love a video that is something like, "how a IR treats himself after a week on call"- I wonder about things like self care, spending time with partner, going out to eat, attaching yourself to your bed for 24 hours (lol!) etc.
As you are a DO, how do you feel about the Figs situation?
Love your videos. I don't understand why hospitals do call the way they do. It seems like they could alternate people on call. Then, the Dr.s would be well rested. Seems like people can get so tired it could impact their work.
3:39 the doctor speaking sounds like Dr. Langer from Lenox Hill
Real IR🤩, For the first time 😀
✨✨✨Dr. Cellini, I may NOT be first but "I'm in chea"✨✨✨
All day!
How often do you have to do a 7day on call? It seems like it's every other week!
About once every 3 or 4 wks
Can you speak on FIGS? Can you make a video about how you feel regarding their recent insults directed toward female physicians and DO physicians?
Where was his lock for his locker? i don't believe he ever told us
What happens after a 7 day call? Do you get a day off or two?
Haha I wish. Straight into M-F procedures. This wknd I have off...much needed
Cool video, as always and rest up, you earned it. Question about the covid dilemma for urgent cases. Does your hospital have any rapid testing platforms that you can use on a pinch to get an idea of the covid status? Sure its not as sensitive as PCR, but hey it's better than nothing, right?
Someone in medicine: how do partners/spouses sleep through all the calls? I would have to sleep in another room.
I take STEMI call (similar to IR, but for heart attacks) and my husband gets up with me every time. We have a sound machine, ac on 70 and two fans going in our room. He’s a great sleeper and it doesn’t bother him. We’ve been doing it for so long, that it’s just a part of us 🤷🏻♀️ I did work at a larger facility where I’d literally go to work at 7am, have clocked out at 3:30am, gotten called in a few hours later and was able to go home and “nap” a few times with a more call-ins in between. Call life isn’t easy, but I make it work by planning everything. Those of us on call definitely live by our call schedules, since we have to respond to pages and be at work within 30 minutes.
@@gM3d09 Thanks for answering my question... I definitely have a greater appreciation for Doctor's by watching youtube.com. Ya'lls mal-practice rates are CRAZY...I've never had to submit soo much paperwork to get a rate for an insured.. Bon Nuit!
Question: when your on call do you sleep in a different room so you don’t keep waking your wife up due to if your pager keeps going off during the night?
She actually doesn’t wake up lol. Sometimes she does but goes back to sleep instantly
That’s amazing! I wish I could sleep like she does. Thanks for answering the question!
Lock Picking Lawyer entered the chat.
Don't look at me like you know me sir.
M: 7a-6p 11, T: 4a-12a 20, W to Th not filmed assuming 20, F: 7a to12a 17, Sa: 7a-6p 11, Su: 7a-6p 11 = 110 hours…….
Nuts🐿️
That’s 3 weeks of work squeezed into 1 week
Are you able to exercise when on call?
You need a Keurig ....the best coffee ever ... Not sponsored LOL
Hi Dr Cellini. I am medical transcriptionist for last 20 years now working in IDC Islamabad Diagnostic Center in Pakistan. do u have any transcription work u can send me plz.
Do you work at Columbia
While it is noble of physicians to work this hard for their patients; why would the system put physicians in this position to begin with where they are so tired? Pilots have shift limits - shouldn't surgeons also have shift limits? In the states, the limit is 80 hours per week averaged over 4 weeks. In the EU it is 48 hours. @Dr.Cellini would be great to hear your perspective
also was this shift that you did part of your fellowship or was it some moonlighting?
What happened on Thursday?
I was exhausted lol
