I live in Bosnia and i can say wild horses are VERY common in Bosnia, but place with most wild horses is the mountain cincar in livno. Horses are mixed with Bosnian, Croatian(posavinan or posavac) and arabian, that combo was needed beacuse farmers then needed transport and travel so they mixed so they get strenght of Croatian horse and speed of the arabian. They were let out in the past Wwll beacuse horses died then and they found safet in the mountains, as well in yugoslavian war 92 but not just of the war but beacuse tractors changed their duties, and so they became adapteble and formed those big herds, more bigger than the herds of the north american horses known as mustangs, and they became succesful even tough they are not one hundred percent wild
i am Bosnian these horses are let out in war time in 1992 in Bosnia by their owners not to starve because we in Bosnia were under fire and couldn't take care of them. There were regular horses used on farms as work horses.Since then animals adopted and roam on their own. They are not truly wild but do live like wild horses and over time will be true wild horses imo.
More than 400 feral horses live in the foothillsof Cincar mountain, between Livno and Kupres, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in an area of approximately 145 square kilometres (56 sq mi). These animals, which descend from horses set free by their owners in the 1950s, enjoy a protected status since 2010... engleska wikipedia
Dosadni ste s tim tezama !
What about in winter! Are they going to be under observation because the next 10 years, the snow will be more than before in europe due clumate changes.
They been free for thousands of years and are capable of taking care of them self as long as you leave them alone. In Bosnia we have many of them all over but more and more tourists are coming and now they keep throwing food, feeding them chocolates and crap and are making them thing that when they see highways full of cars, that there is food there so they all go to the street. Many have been killed because of this
In Bosnia we have hunting on wolfs but its still seen as something crule and unacceptable by majority of the population. We still have all of the animals native to Europe and hope it stays that way.We always loved nature and thats why we still have 2 of 3 last ancient rainforests of Europe untouched and unexplored like Peručica.

Wolfs, bears and lynx are important in this matter. And let the horses be wild as other wildlife in the area.
So beautyful,
Greeting from Romania!
Thanks for posting this video :)

Very intresting, I hope the herd will stay there free and happy :)
They will. We love them.
Life finds a way.
there must be millions of them across Europe, like in ancient times, to help fight climate change. We must create positive human intervention.
Where do they find food in winter?
Unlike most ungulates such as deers in europe, horses dig trough snow beacuse they know food is under
