Dahon, the world's largest manufacturer of folding bikes has been around since 1982. They have numerous models of folding bikes to choose from.
We are having a look at the K-One folding hub drive electric bike. We test it out in campgrounds, on roads and on some light bike trails. This bike is well made, sturdy and a very natural feeling e-bike to ride. The torque sensor gives you power when you need it and none when you don't. You can go further and faster while still getting exercise.

I drive a semi truck for a living. Although it’s a tight fit, this K-One can be folded to fit in front of the passenger seat of my semi (handlebar must stay up to fit). With the electric assist, this bike is great for taking on headwinds or climbing up hills.
What truck you drive? I got a Volvo 860 and I’m looking for a folding bike as well that will fit in front of the passenger seat
Nice review. The real beauty to our pair of MEC non e-bikes is the ability to transport them easily to trails or towns far from the campground. I look forward to a race next time we camp together.

I've been having fun on it. I've ridden 60 km on it so far with the first full charge and the battery level hasn't moved down from full yet. Amazing!
We bought envo e-bikes from a Costco road show that have throttle. We love them. We like the folding so we can keep them in the truck for safety purposes.
It's nice to be able to store them in the truck to keep them safe from theft and the elements.

Yeah, it's not cheap. Definitely not for everyone. At times I felt a little like a big circus bear on a tiny bike and that's what I was jokingly getting at in the end.

Great review like usual Ben. My wife and I purchased the Jetson Bolt Pro folding Ebikes from Costco back in May and have been using them all summer while staying at Provincial Parks and around are neighborhood.
We can't say enough good things about these E bikes. To start they were (and as I type this they are on sale again) for $369. We have put over a thousand kilometers on these bikes with no issues whatsoever. We keep saying where have these been all our lives..Lol..So there you go, just thought I'd give your viewers some more affordable options to get into the Ebike market. Keep up the great content and hopefully we will run into you and Cheryl sometime and buy both of you a beverage for all the great info you have provided us with your videos!
I saw a couple of those Jetson bikes at Pog Lake a couple of weeks ago. I had to laugh when I saw that they had wheels even smaller than my folding e-bike. The couple looked really pleased with them and the price is definitely right. I'm not pushing this e-bike as the ideal bike, I'm just trying to get people to consider folding bikes and think a little outside the box with camping bikes. I did the video with this bike because that's the one they gave me. We love meeting people in the parks and we certainly wouldn't pass up a beverage and a chat. Maybe we'll see you out there one day. Really well-done review and video. I haven't found any other folding ebike in this price range that has a torque sensor. And I like the low weight and the smaller two-inch tires vs the fat tire bikes.

This is the 300 lb model with the deltec cable that helps support heavier riders.
There are other better folding bicycles for camping. There is no suspension built in to this model. That type is really meant for urban environments
Yes, this is mostly an urban bike. It's also good for people at campgrounds if they're just going to be touring around the campground or going on some light trails. I've seen some of the fat tire folding e-bikes. They look like they could do the trails pretty well. While doing this video the guy at the next site over had a Lectric folding e-bike. It looked pretty hard core. It was also about twice the weight of this one and took up a lot more space when folded.
good video i just watch outdoorboys he put his bike on rear bike rack the car exhaust melted and blowout the front tire i would have never considered that. keep the videos coming

Great video. We've been looking into getting an ebike. After hearing what happened at sandbanks makes me a little nervous. We were there. Not when it happened but the RV was still there. I heard Rize ebikes are good and they have some pretty good prices. Might look into them.

Yes, it's not cheap. I'm back to keeping up to Cheryl...at least on the relatively flat roads and paths. No chance on rough trails though.
Not satisfied with the way the K-One folds considering Dahon claims to be a world leader in manufacturing folding bikes. With their experience they should be at par with GoCycle.
It doesn’t folds nicely.
Won’t be buying folding bike again from them.
