    Ah, we've done that before! No worries and great flight of an amazing plane! Had to rewatch this one not live. Keep up the 365! 👍😁😎⚓

    Hey GG. I picked a used one up for $50. Battery was flat, but got it to take a charge. Nose wheel was loose, so it unsteerable, never got off the ground. Just waiting for no wind and warm weather to get a maiden flight in!

    This will be my third time repairing the nosewheel. This must be considered a major design flaw on this aircraft as it seems almost impossible to NOT damage it during any kind of normal flying. If it happens after my custom aluminum build of the nosewheel assembly, I will take it apart to salvage parts and throw the rest in the garbage (where I think it really belongs....)

    Just went last week for my first buddy box flight with the aero scout S2 1.1! The plane is great! He started me out in intermediate mood so I would get use to the sticks. I learned a lot and will buying one soon! Oh ya,I'm a newbie at 68!😁😁😂

      @@lennyz853 I'm also a newbie! I started this spring practicing on Real Flight 9.5 to see if I could develop the coordination to fly. Found I could fly, so now I've been buying too many planes! I try to fly Real Flight to sharpen my stick coordination. I've also used it to figure out how to better land my F-15. I find the program to be a pretty true to life simulation and I love being able to rebuild after a crash by just hitting the space bar!!!

    Hi grandpa Gary! I'm so happy that you are feeling better after the bad luck you had a few days ago! And I think someone's comment about how you seemed to have changed from the way you used to be and even tried to challenge your religious beliefs saying you are acting like the phoney sailors which was totally uncalled for! After having bad luck and then people trying to make you worse, I say don't listen to it Gary you are one of the best on utube and don't change you make all of us people feel much better about are selves watching how you handle the bad with the good 😃 don't ever change grandpa Gary! And love your landing of the aeroscout looks like all my landings lol 😆 Marty from Canada 🇨🇦🛩🛩🌞🙏

    Gary- What just happened to you is exactly why I went through 2 of these Aeroscouts and one more fuselage. I was/am a true beginner and when a little bump on the front wheel breaks the plywood that the gear is mounted and shocks the rudder/steering servo. Learned a lot about repairing but I am am out of the hobby and wished I would have started with a tail dragger. My 2 cents worth. BC

    Yes, I even cut some foam off the canopy in order to get the battery a smidgen more forward. I've added some weight to the very front of the nose and that appears to have worked. Maybe CG is more difficult to see with the AeroScout because of the curved fuselage? My AeroScout was climbing in all modes even at throttle settings below 50%. So for me some nose weight and trim to get it flying level at ~ 50% throttle.

    I’ve been having the same luck, it must be in the air. I totaled my eflite Pitts and 70mm Viper, and crashed my T-28 but it’s at least repairable.

  • @BillKisel
    @BillKisel 2 роки тому +1

    Gary, did you find it a bit tail heavy when you first flew the AeroScout (with the recommended 2,200 3S)? I got mine just a few weeks ago and had to add nose weight to get a good CG.
    PS. I took Nate's advice and ordered just before the price increase.
    PPS. For a rank beginner which I was a short while ago, as much as I like the AeroScout, I'd recommend the Sport Cub S 2 or even the UMX Turbo Timber over the AS.

    • @IJustGotHere

      Hi Peter! That is a great question. Please reference Jason's video of replacing the steering servo. The connections at the servo arm have screws that can be loosened. Please only loosen the screw holding the push rod going to the nose wheel. He explains it at 10 minutes into the video. ua-cam.com/video/MK9j62KJfYk/v-deo.html

      U know u can turn off the safe/as3x for nothing, right? Basically, u trashed a $100.00 reciever. For $30 anyone can get a bnf over any pnp. Id give $30 for a $100 reciever every day of the week! (Tho ive not used safe/as3x since a month after relearning to fly.)

I bought this airplane to ease back into the hobby after a 3-year break. Thought it would meet my needs. Maiden flight- it got off about 2-feet and inverted itself with no input from me no damage but some scrapes to the top of the wing. 2nd flight same thing with a little canopy damage. Did a roll again . Nope just don't trust it.
