Just got my results L - 8, R - 9, S - 8, W - 8. All thanks to this great man here. Thanks a million, Jay. I followed your instructions to the T and ended up with this result. Overal 8. 5. 👍🙏
Promised myself I’d give feedback after getting my results so here it goes:LRWS-9/9/8/8 Overall band-score 8.5(Academic IELTS First sitting) Writing this here to encourage someone out there. While preparing I used to get encouraged by other people’s results. Watched tons of E2,IeltsLiz and Ielts master’s videos.
Absolutely complex sentences is how you score a band 6 and above. Without them you'll always be stuck. I have a free course on my channel on this at Excel in IELTS, check it out guys.
1. Simple sentences = 1 idea 2. Compound sentences = 1 idea + 1 idea 3. Complex sentences = > 1 ideas + 1 idea (4. Passive sentences = the thing was done to someone. You do not need passive sentences for IELTS.) 4. SVO VO. Subject + Verb + Object + Verb + Object. Governments should tax the rich and fund the poor. You can get a 7 with these 4 sentence structures. Learn more on my blog. ieltswritingfix.com or see my youtube videos
@@dadaoluwatoyin424 it's really easy just practice 5-6 samples and set a time limit to improve speed because you can only hear it once you will be good
Hello everyone, I got my general IELTS results recently and I want to tell you about my experience hoping that it will help ease your anxieties for the exam! My overall bandscore was 8, with 8.5 in listening, 8 in reading, and 7.5 both in writing as well as in speaking. Short history about my studies: I learned since I was very little, mostly on the internet by playing a lot of online games and having wonderful people correct my spelling, watching youtubers a lot, and generally browsing of the internet. Because of all my practise I have always been a natural in english class and I would usually do my homework on the fly in the classroom. For IELTS, I studied exactly 1 week (I'm quite the procrastinator), by viewing youtube materials and familiarizing myself with the test format, that has been the most helpful thing of all, plus the general tips given in these youtube videos! For example on the test there were instructions saying "maximum 2 words and/or a number". In the text there was to be extracted the fragment: "one million X", and knowing that 3 words would not mark my answer, I deduced that I should convert it to "1 million X" instead. I believe that knowing the test format, and the rules, paying attention to the instructions is already half job well done. My best and highest recommendation would be to still your nerves and get a good night's sleep beforehand. Because you will need focus, if your mind flies you can lose points really easily. I took 6 plant-based sleeping pills that night just to ensure I can fall asleep (I have troubles in this area). Do what needs to be done to rest well before! Also, the test was easier than I expected, some practice materials on the internet are really tough and tricky in comparison, I would not get worried if you don't ace the practice tests, you might get lucky still! So do what needs to be done to rest before the exam, I was serious and focused all through. Have only 1 hour wait time for the speaking test if possible, so your mind is still focused and well rested for the task, I put mine 1 hour and 20 minutes after and I wish I put it sooner. Have a healthy and satiating breakfast! Both my meals from the night before and in the morning have been similar, avocado with eggs made in butter and some smoked salmon! Also my morning coffee with no sugar added. I chose ketogenic meals before my test for added mental clarity, and it worked beautifully. I was ZEN all day. You will be at the test venue for 3-4 hours at least, you absolutely need a good breakfast AND a bottle of water (no cover), so you sip throughout it, especially if it's hot weather outside. It will help keep your focus I promise, so do not eat junkfood in your last 2 meals, I assure you it will help! I finished my reading and writing tasks 20 minutes early and I had time to verify my answers and have a sip of refreshing water! Bring more than 500 ml if possible. I didn't expect to do so well in listening especially, and also in reading (in practise I had 7 score for both in the few that I did), then I didn't know what to expect in writing at all since I had no feedback but I always was a natural writer (wrote poetry and good essays in my native tongue), so that was no problem. I only read a few band 8-9 essays and letters and familiarized myself with the structure, also don't repeat the same words a lot. In speaking I practised by watching speaking tests on youtube and pausing the videos so I can answer the questions like a real test. I focused on being more concise because my mind tends to stray off the subject or talk too much! Know yourself, know your weakness and correct it! In the actual speaking test I did not use many fancy words, only what came naturally, I also had a moment of not finding my words (couldn't remember the word "mayor" for a topic about my home location, just forget about it and move on from the idea, don't linger or worry even if you make a mistake!). Also some pronunciation errors I had for sure because living on the internet is not the healthiest place to learn proper + uk pronunciation, correct what you can but don't stress too much if you don't have time to literally relearn how to say every word before the test day. Be natural, don't overthink. Have a conversation. On the 2 minute task I'm fairly certain I only spoke for 1 minute because the subject felt a bit bland to me (talk about a movie that disappointed you recently), just make sure to cover all the points with a few phrases for each and say you are done and move on with having a natural discussion on the other questions, it should be fine. 1-2 minutes, you don't have to keep speaking if you feel you have no more words for it. I remembered a time when I rewatched lord of the rings and was with someone that didn't watch it and they didn't enjoy it as much as I thought they would. It wasn't a recent occurrence, it was years ago, but use your imagination/invent/act like this happened a month ago if the instructions say so! Be confident! I put emotions in my writing, it was a subject I could naturally write about and I had actual opinions so you can get lucky, try to familiarize yourself with different topics, from school, work, current issues etc. And for reading and listening just do mock tests they are really great! It's late and I have to sleep now (2 AM, told ya!), but I hope this message will help someone, I wanted to mention general body needs like sleep and food because it's my passion and nobody mentions the importance of general health and state of body and mind! Just be confident and take care of your basic needs first, and you can do it too, don't sacrifice what is basic/essential for one more night of (sleepless) study or so. I will copy and paste this comment on a few videos, good luck to all who read it!
I got a 4 in writing mock and I tried all of jay tips in main IELTS Exam and guess what ? 4 turned into 7 ! that is unbelievable ! Thank you jay ! I owe you man !

I just received my IELTS result and I had an overall band 9. I would like to say a big thank you to Jay and the rest of the E2 team because all the prep I did was watch your videos. Thank you so much!
Thank you Jay, I had 3 days to prepare for IELTS by myself and resorted to UA-cam videos and practice tests. Scored a 7.5 in writing, an overall 8 and owe a lot to you.
I can't thank you enough Jay. Your teaching is just amazing. Just by following your videos for IELTS Writing and Speaking, I scored 7.5 in both these sections in 1st attempt. I jotted down all your tips and simply executed them. The way you teach by giving examples is really awesome and that's how we get to understand so quickly. Thank You once again Jay. God Bless You !!
Listening: 8.5 Reading: 7.5 WRITING: 8.0 Speaking: 8.5 Overall Band: 8.0 So I don’t usually leave reviews or comments BUT I must tell anyone that if you want to score a band 8.0 or more in writing, this is the video for you! I saw this video (and the other hour plus detailed video on writing) only 2 days to my IELTS test, I followed it and scored a band 8. I saw some other videos online that weren’t really helpful. This was the first video I saw form this channel and I was hooked!! Writing has never been my strong point owing (in part) to the fact that I struggle with a mild case of dyslexia. BUT I had an 8.0 in my writing test. I have recommended this video and and the other one on writing to everybody I know taking this test, and I will continue to do so. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I am very delighted to let you all know that I have just received my IELTS score, the overall band is 7.0 (L- 7.5, S-7.0, R-6.0, W-7.0) I would like to thank E2 IELTS for its writing tutorials. I highly recommend this playlist, especially the videos about the structures of different types of paragraphs. I would like to extend my gratitude and thank Jay for his excellent guidance, which is totally free for us.
Jay is brilliant. I was stuck at 6.5 in writing for 2 attempts before I discovered him. I followed his instructions and was able to score 7 with an overall 8. Thank a lot, Jay!

Y'all are doing amazing service for the people. I got an 8/9 overall on IELTS Academic with a 9 in listening and 8 in speaking. All thanks to @E2 IELTS
Could you please explain how did you get that score ? I mean Did you write a question in introduction ? How many complex sentences? How many linking words (whereas etc)? Anything else you wanna say ?
Honestly Jay, you rock! Thats all I can say. I watched your writing tips video the day before my exam and did nothing else. Scored a 7. Just the tips and not the entire course. Crazy! Thanks so much!
I scored 8.5 in writing, Jay! I only have your videos to thank. Your channel is now the only resource I recommend to friends, and with good reason. God bless ya. UPDATE : I never checked back on this comment. Damn, that's a lot of likes. For those calling it fake, I don't have to prove anything to you guys but here are my scores : R 8.5 L 8.5 W 8.5 and S 7.5. General Module for immigration purpose. Second attempt. I have prior blogging experience but struggle with paragraph construction in writing and suck at listening. Jay's videos helped me with the tips I needed to overcome some obvious shortcomings in my approach to the exam. Send me your questions by DM. Happy to help.
It is my first time to comment on youtube and I want to say people grown up in English speaking countries are very lucky, they never worry about to be unemployed, it is important that they just don't mind teaching English to students for long time every day.
Hey Jay and Alex, I wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for the excellent videos that you post on UA-cam. Your strategies and tips helped me score an overall band of 8.5, with 9 in listening and 8.5 in reading, writing and speaking, that too in my first attempt.God bless you guys!
Thanks E2 for your help! Rushed my Ielts booked it 5days before exam and with only about less than 24 hours prep time. Managed to get scores I needed! Won’t recommend anyone to do it the way I did it though, I have taken IELTS 13yrs ago so I have an idea what to expect and I am using English language everyday.
Hey Jay! Got my results just now!! Speaking:07 Listening:08 Writing:7.5 Reading:7.5 Overall:7.5 I had only 2 days to prepare and your videos helped a lot!!
I can't thank Jay and E2 learning enough for my IELTS scores. I got my scores today. My overall band is 8--L:8.5, R:8, W: 8, S: 7.5. I applied all the strategies I learned from your lessons. You all are doing a fabulous job. Amazing!
I am so thankful for this channel for all the help I have received. I just got my score and scored an overall band 8 with (8.5 L, 7.5 R, 8.5 S and 7.5 W) My tip for everyone is to just not be nervous and relax as much as possible. The actual exam was actually a little bit easier than I expected and I prepared for it for less than a month. I mostly focused on reading and listening in my preparation because there are plenty of tests (I use the Cambridge books for my practice) and my score got better with time (like in listening I got a 6 the first time I took the exam because I was not familiar with the questions). As for the writing part I didn't actually practice much since I am already used to writing stuff for school so I just focused on my grammar and vocabulary. Lastly for the speaking part, I actually mostly talked to myself and made like a little podcast talking about random topics. Just make sure to express yourself clearly and give a whole answer if possible like you can always add stuff to keep going. Good luck everyone and I hope you all get the scores you wish for.
This is by far the best writing mastery technique that I could find in the internet. I got my IELTS results and they are L:8, R:8, S:7, W:7.5. Complex sentences are the key!! Thanks a ton Jay!!!!!!
Overall Band: 8.0 Listening: 8.0 Reading: 8.0 Writing: 7.0 Speaking: 8.5 My first attempt( General Training).. Thanks to Jay.. 😇 His points definitely helped in writing task 2.. And for the Speaking section, I'll suggest, just be yourself.. Enjoy the conversation..🙂🙂🙂

I had just 1 week to prepare for my IELTS Academic test from scratch(I had no prior knowledge of the IELTS test format). One of my friends recommended me an E2 video, and so I watched it. Since then, I watched most of the videos here for all 4 modules of the test. Watching your videos was definitely the best decision I made at the time, because it helped me get an excellent IELTS score.I got an overall band 8.5-L=9, R=8.5, W=8, S=7.5. Such a score was certainly beyond even my most ambitious expectations considering my minimal preparation time(6 days). I spent only a day each(3 days leading up to the exam) on Reading, Listening and Speaking and the rest of my time on Writing. I was particularly amazed by my writing score of 8, which is quite an unbelievable score to get in your 1st attempt. All thanks to the wonderful E2 team here. Thanks a million Jay, Mark and Alex, you guys are truly wonderful teachers🙌👏❤
A huge shout-out to Jay, Mark and all the amazing people behind E2. Just got my results and couldn't be happier. Thank you for all the guidance, the best tips and showing me the right approach to this test! My scores- L-9 R-9 W-7.5 S-8.5 Overall - 8.5 Couldn't have done it without your help.

I am very happy to report that I scored 9, 9, 7.5, 7.5 in listening, reading, writing and speaking respectively. My heartfelt thanks to E2 language team for their help.
Jay I cannot thank you enough. I am moving to Malta 🇲🇹 in a few weeks and had to do the IELTS and I had no idea what it was or what to do. I booked the test not realising the challenge ahead. Then I came across your tips for the IELTS on youtube and with only 5 days to study I took my test in 18/01/22 and got my results today ... listening 8, reading 7.5, writing 8.5 and speaking 8.5. Overall 8. I am so pleased because I only needed a score of 6. Thank you!!
Thanks a lot Jay! I owe my Writing score to you...I got 6.5 during my first take and after learning from your techniques, I was able to make it to 7 though my goal is 8..not to bad... :) More blessings to you and your company!
Thank you so much for helping us out. With your guidance I have been able to obtain 8.5 in IELTS (L: 8.5, R: 9, W: 7.5, S: 8.5) and 90 in PTE (L: 90, R: 90, W: 88, S: 90). You have an incredible talent of making things much easier to understand. Keep it up.
Thank you Jay! I didn't concentrate on writing much and this helped my last minute prep. I scored a 7. 🙂 L- 9, R-9 and S-8. Always wanted to post my results here. ☺️

I am grateful to Jay for his tips on IELTS General writing task 1 and 2. Despite having enrolled myself in IELTS preparatory classes in my town, I failed thrice in achieving 7 in writing. I was well above 7.5 in Speaking, reading and Listening. In my fourth attempt, I was awarded 8.5 in writing for which I am ever so thankful to Jay.
Could you please explain how did you get that score ? I mean Did you write a question in introduction ? How many complex sentences? How many linking words (whereas etc)? Anything else you wanna say ?

@@muhammadnazarboyev6950 Let me explain to you why. The exam has 4 band areas. In order to hit 7+ on the exam, you need to achieve TR and C&C. If you try all kinds of SS that you don't know how to handle, you make mistakes and lose both GR, TR and C&C. Stick to 3 main SS types as my grammar guide explains. You're welcome.
Hi! I absolutely recommend all the E2 IELTS instructional videos by Jay. I wrote the IELTS Academic Test for the first time two weeks ago and I managed to score an 8.0 overall. My listening score was 9.0, reading and speaking at 8.5 scores. My only shortfall was my writing and it was due to the fact that I ran out of time. It's worthwhile to mention that I only had two weeks to prepare for the test and English is not my first language. Thank you E2!
Hiii I got 8 point in my speaking I did cbt test my writing wasn’t all Good but in total I had a band score of 7 point , thanks to you and all thanks to God also , Keep doing more of this , God bless you
Thank you Jay for the tips in writing. I have been following your page for my preparation . I appeared for IELTS recently and got 7.5 at first attempt. Your lectures are really to the point and very effective. Recommended to my friends. Kudos to you!
Thanks jay for making such videos. I got my ielts result today with L-8.5, S-8.5,R-7.5,W-7 and overall it comes out to be band 8. Became huge fan of your techniques and will recommend your videos to other friends.
Thankyou E2 IELTS. Just received my academic IELTS results. Overall 7.5 ( L-8.5/ S-8/ R-7/ W-7 ) prepared for the test for about a month by watching E2 videos. A big thankyou to Jay, Alex and Mark !
Thanks to the E2 team, I passed my IELTS within a month and a half of practicing and watching your videos. Keep up the good work guys!! L9,R8,S7,W6.5 and for those still working to get their scores. Keep at it! Practice, practice, practice then watch these videos and more importantly ensure you put into practice what you've been taught.
I came across E2 while preparing for IELTS and happened to watch most of the videos, your tips are extremely useful, I have managed to score a 7.5 and I couldn’t be more grateful to you, thank you so much
Sagar Jha .. practice as much as you can. It's ok if you don't read newspapers and other books as people normally suggest to crack this test. Buy the reading and listening reference books published especially for IELTS practice and solve maximum questions. And also take time to solve incorrect answers.
Amine Berama yeah. Go for particular IELTS material. Have at least 2 listening and one reading done religiously everyday. Record cue cards and read IELTS writing task 2 book materials.
I took my IELTS LRW today, had speaking yesterday. This was my second attempt trying to better my score from 8 to a perfect 9 and I think that I might just have cracked it. You are the best teacher! When I watch you, I feel that writing is very easy. When I practice writing, I realised it is very hard. So, I am using your videos to start my writing. Thank you!
As an Ex IELTS examiner I definitely agree with Jay's tips. I tell my students time and time again that it's not only about how accurate your grammar is, it's also about how varied your sentences are. You need to use a wide range of sentence types: simple, compound and complex. And in particular you have to use a wide range of complex sentences i.e. conditions, subordinate clauses, relative clauses etc to push yourself to a band 7 and above.
Hello Jay, I got my test results today. I scored 7.5 in listening, writing, and reading and 9 in writing, with an overall score of 8. My only form of preparation for this test were your videos that I watched. Thank you so much!
Subordinate clauses need to be punctuated (when you start with one), which is missing in the first example. While some people will support the tax, others will be against it.
Jay was my only resource for studying for the IELTS writing task. I followed the structure he suggests in his videos as well as the phrase structure varieties (complex sentences, ...) and I achieved band 7 in writing , which is exactly what I needed. thanks a lot for this super valuable content
Your videos are indeed helpful and I scored 7 band in writing. I was dejected after my 1st attempt as I scored 6.5 in writing. Was randomly searching youtube and I stumbled upon your brilliant videos. Thanks!
E2 was my main training resource for Writing Task 2. I was not able to do well on test day because I was sleep-deprived still I scored 7.5 (L8.5, R8.5, S7, W6.5) in my first attempt.
Thank you so much for taking out time to write this.

Did you just watched the channel videos

Sagar Jha .. practice as much as you can. It's ok if you don't read newspapers and other books as people normally suggest to crack this test. Buy the reading and listening reference books published especially for IELTS practice and solve maximum questions. And also take time to solve incorrect answers.
Bageshree Patel do you mean that is more usefull to solve too many samples than reading newspapers and listening to the radio?
Amine Berama yeah. Go for particular IELTS material. Have at least 2 listening and one reading done religiously everyday. Record cue cards and read IELTS writing task 2 book materials.
In which u gave ur test idp or british council ??
I took my IELTS LRW today, had speaking yesterday. This was my second attempt trying to better my score from 8 to a perfect 9 and I think that I might just have cracked it. You are THE ONLY person to thank for my confidence. I stumbled upon your videos and followed your ideas and tips to the T. Waiting to get my scores. Will update when the result is out.
Hey can i talk to you in person i need some help with ilets. I would really appreciate it
Thank you so much Jay your video really helped me l got 6on writing

Guys, I got an overall score 7.5 without watching any youtube videos but then my writing score was just 6 . I did a month of practice watched each and every video and I got 6.5 . Here are some mistakes i would want to share .
Don’t soley rely on youtube videos and practice according to them .
Ielts cambridge book essay should be followed.
Practice aloooot .
Not everyone will get a 7 after watching a video.
Learn some techniques on time management, in fact practice with a timer on.
Please focus on task 1 too!
Attempt 1st : L=8.0,R=7.5,W=7.0,S=8.5,OverAll=8.0. Extremely grateful for all the tips in speaking and writing parts. Thank you very much . Keep up the good work.
WOW! You made a point; Variety over accuracy! I've been afraid "sometimes" to write complex structure because of the accuracy. Thank much for the golden tip.
Hello E2ielts I am new to preparation and learning from this channel .Thank you for these awesome videos 😊😊

Thank you for all your efforts, clear explanations and for sharing all these details.
