If you're taking the IELTS exam, please listen to Liz's tips and youtube videos. I took it back in 2020 with no preparation and 3 hours of sleep after my flight got delayed and rerouted the day of my exam (you can imagine the stress I was going through) and while I was at the airport, I was watching her videos to help me prepare. I had an overall of 8.0. I had to retake my exam in 2022 where I followed a newer youtube channel, thinking it would be more updated. I ended up getting 7.5 overall, with a really low writing score. I was so disappointed in myself that I decided to retake the exam exactly 1 month later, where I rewatched all of Liz's videos and ended up getting an overall score of 8.5. I was able to raise my scores in every section by .5 or by 1 all thanks to Liz.
Back here in 2024 to say thank you for these videos! This was the first video I came across and it really helped. Just got my results back and I made a band 8. Thank you so very much

Hi, this is an answer to Bishal Tuladhar's comment. If the essay question is short, then your introduction will also be short. It's no problem at all. Certainly don't try to add more irrelevant information to make it longer. You will have a short background statement and a clear thesis statement - that's all that is important. All the best Liz

Thank you so much for your wonderful videos Liz. your videos taught me a lot while preparing for my IELTS! I scored L:9, R:8.5, W:7, S:8.5 and overall 8.5.
Hi Liz... I work as education agent in Australia and often I have listening to frustrated international students that didn't get a good band score and needs to take a IELTS test once again. To understand their frustration, get to know how to help them, I did a IELTS test around 4 weeks ago. That is not easy at all, all these students should be so proud of themselves. As much as the teachers like you. I found the test quiet complex in some points and confuse in others, and I must admit if you lose the initial point you're in a big trouble (especially on listening module). Honestly, I wanna say how happy I'm knowing that someone like you spend time to help others making these videos. Many students have no money to pay extra classes or private tutors, so this channel is essential to them. In my opinion, your lessons are undoubtedly great. Your voice is soft, clear and pass a lot of confidence to the audience, as you don't think too much to say what you need to say, like some other people on youtube. Great job Liz!!
Andre Braussie Thanks Andre. I'm really glad my lessons have been useful. I know IELTS is a very challenging test and without preparation it is difficult to achieve a score which realistically reflects a person's level of English, particularly for the academic test. Even a native speaker would not necessarily get a band score 9 without training. For this reason, I wanted to put these videos up and generally shed some light. Here's a link to my IELTS blog - there's much more information as well as more lessons and tips for free: www.ieltsliz.com. Thanks for getting in touch. All the best Liz
No need to attend any coaching if you follow this channel's videos. Perfectly taught. Just watch all the videos and practice accordingly. Liz is a great teacher 🙏

If you STuCK at 6 or 6.5 in writing and want a minimum 7. in general writing please watch the video with the title "IELTS GENERAL WRITING: SUREST WAY TO GO FROM BAND 6 TO 7"
Hello once again teacher Liz, I’m back here once again to say a big thank you for the mentorship and online tutorials among which I’m a one of your great success stories! I never attended any IELTS classes but your online platform prepared me within 2 months and I sat my IELTS general on 8th Oct at British Council Qatar and excelled with an overall Bandscore 7 (Listening 7.5, writing 6.5, speaking 6.5, reading 6.5). I’m so greatful for the support.
Thanks miss liz. Youre better than the review center i enrolled the last time i took an ielts exam. My current scores for listening 9.0 (thanks to sally ielts and you) Reading 8.0 (thanks to ielts mentor and ielts exam) Speaking 7.5 (thanks to your topic samples in your website) Writing 7.5 (thanks to your vids)
jane29jeng hiii..can u please suggest me which website is useful for writing task.. Also, tell me how was the listening and reading level in exam .is it same as we have seen on many websites..
Bright Star ieltsliz.com and ielts-exam.net helped me a lot with the writing test. The websites have so many samples you can try and sometimes they give out model answers. Try to pattern your writing style to theirs because IELTS is looking for a specific writing style (which is pointed out really well by Liz in this video). Practice as much as you can so you can get used to writing under 60 minutes. Listening and reading tests are slightly easier in the actual exam. But it’s good to practice more difficult sample tests so it’ll be easier for you when you’re finally doing the real tests. Try to simulate the real exam as in doing the 3 tests one after another (Listening, Reading, and Writing) with no breaks. This way you’ll get used to using your mind for a long time, and in the real exam, the invigilators won’t give you bathroom breaks as soon as you enter the exam room. But if you really need to go, they will not stop the time so you need to be really quick about it. Try to do the speaking test later in the day. Hope this helps.
jane29jeng very useful information u have given me.thanku so much..I hv my exam on 11 May. Can you please give some ideas about listening MCQ .. sometimes I find this very hard..

+IELTS Liz Dear Liz Would you please advise me for the following writing task 2?. My goal is 8. Thanks a lot in advance... There is a significant gap between rich and poor countries. Some people think that richer countries should be responsible for supporting poorer countries while others think it is the responsibility of the poorer countries. What is your opinion? Huge differences exist between developed and poor nations. While some people consider that the wealthy nations, responsibly, should support poor nations, others argue taking those liabilities on poor nations, themselves. In my opinion, I strongly think developed countries should adopt lots of responsibilities. However, I also agree that poorer nations must try to do well rather than wait for help from rich. Living luxurious lives and drinking alcohol, developed nations waste much of its money. People in the UK buy a bottle of champagne for £250, whereas some people in Africa don’t have food on their table which cost just couple of pounds. In addition, citizens of developed nations have high salary incomes what they spend, most of it, through travelling around the world and having fun, although this money could be donated to poorer nations to buy some cloths and food. To gain power rich nations spend lots of money on war. If the money unnecessarily spent on war was donated to poor nations, they would be benefited with food, houses and proper treatment. For example, one survey shows that the money what USA alone spend every year on war purposes could eradicate world’s extreme poverty if donated instead. On the other hand, Poor nations should act wisely and utilize their asset rather than depend on wealthy countries. Some nations who are developed now were not rich in the past. For instance, Malaysia was a poor nation once, but through hard work, perseverance and smart plan, they are developed now. So, to turn them into rich, poor countries should also follow these nations’ footsteps. In conclusion, although rich people spent huge amount of their money in luxury, fun and war purposes, poor have no money to buy food or cloths or build houses. Instead of wasting much of its money, rich nations should take liabilities to donate much of it, if not all, to poorer nations. Underdeveloped nations should also plan ahead and act wisely rather than wait for help.

Dear Liz, i'd like to thank you for all the effort you've put in all your videos to make it easy for the students to prepare for the IELTS test. I had my test 2 weeks ago and I only watched your videos to prepare for it. Today I recieved my result [ Listening 8 / Reading 7 / Writing 6.5 / Speaking 7 = Overall 7.0 ] I managed to use all the tips that you have mentioned in the Speaking/Writing videos. Using either lower/upper case letters in the answer sheets was a thing that I kept in mind. I'm not so happy with my writing grade but the overall grade is what really matter, Plus, my univ requires 5.5 for the Writing sec. So I guess the 6.5 is somehow fine. Thank you again for all the help your given me.

@@harmandeepkaur7033 yes sure in writing task 2 in BP1 (body para 1)you should state your main idea in the first sentence so that reader can easily understand on which topic you are mainly concentrated on (in that paragraph). Always support the main ideas by some supporting ideas with one example and TADA!! Your BP1 is over. Do the same for BP2 but don't repeat the ideas again. I used the same trick in my IELTS exam. I was expecting 6 or below in my writing but they gave me 6.5 because of my structure. Main idea> Supporting idea > example (with some connectors)
@@harmandeepkaur7033 yeah I wanted the same tips from other who gained good score in ielts. Speaking - Simple tip - Speak confidently, if you don't have confidence, you will stammer n stutter in front of the examiner. So be confident n speak fluently with some connector and complex compound sentences. Listening - I don't have any tips for listening but do practice for passage where maps are there, it can be tough sometimes. I had listening ability in my nature. So I scored the highest in that module. Reading - I used this trick with the help of one of my friend as I was not able to complete my reading in 60 mins. So 20 mins are allotted to each passage as you know. Complete the first passage in 14-15 mins max because its the easiest passage out of all the three and give 20-20 mins to other 2 passages. You will have 5 min of spare time, if any question is missed. Due to this my reading was completed in 57 mins. Before this trick it always used to take 1 hr 5 mins (this little things teaches you time management).
Thanks liz your lessons helped me alot. Recently I gave my IELTS and i scored L 7.5,R7.5, S7.5 and W 7.0 ( Overall7.5) and this was my first try. I prepared for a month. Your tips helped me a lot. There is currently a contetious argument over wether exercise on systematic basis improves health . I totally agree with this opnion because regular exercise not only keeps a person fit it also gives one mental peace.
Hey Liz! I got an overall band of 8 :D L-8.5;R-8.5,S-7.5, and W-7 in IELTS(AC). Thank you so much for your youtube videos and blogs! they really helped a lot! I got the lowest in the writing part since I couldn't finish Writing Task 1 and spent the majority of my time on the WT2(essay). It seems that my essay carried the band and I got 7. For WT1 I had written an introduction, overview, and just one body paragraph! I was about to write the second Body Paragraph but I ran out of time. I was so worried that I may get band 5 in writing but it seems everything worked out somehow! Thank you again for all your efforts! hope your health is better now!
During my Teenage, I first understood the necessity of doing Excercise. The moment I started Exercising on a daily basis, the substantial change I have observed in my Physical and mental health is extensive. The Human body is engineered to move not to sit so as we sit all day at work and home, Our body starts to degenerate and we get many diseases. An anecdotal report claims, if a person sits more than 11hours in a row every day, he is more prone to premature death than those who exercise. Exercise is also beneficial for having a focused mind and a good mood as after Exercising, the brain releases Serotonin which is responsible for having a Good Mood.

Hi, this is an answer to Bishal Tuladhar's comment. If the essay question is short, then your introduction will also be short. It's no problem at all. Certainly don't try to add more irrelevant information to make it longer. You will have a short background statement and a clear thesis statement - that's all that is important.

Writing 7.5 (thanks to your vids)
jane29jeng from where i can prepare ielts reading part genearal
himanshu sharma you can go to IELTS mentor or IELTS exam. Both websites provide reading samples for General training module.
jane29jeng hiii..can u please suggest me which website is useful for writing task..

+IELTS Liz hello....i need your help..... plz
+IELTS Liz Dear Liz
Would you please advise me for the following writing task 2?. My goal is 8.
Thanks a lot in advance...
There is a significant gap between rich and poor countries. Some people think that richer countries should be responsible for supporting poorer countries while others think it is
the responsibility of the poorer countries.
What is your opinion?
Huge differences exist between developed and poor nations. While some people consider that the wealthy nations, responsibly, should support poor nations, others argue taking those liabilities on poor nations, themselves. In my opinion, I strongly think developed
countries should adopt lots of responsibilities. However, I also agree that
poorer nations must try to do well rather than wait for help from rich.
Living luxurious lives and drinking alcohol, developed nations waste much of its money. People in the UK buy a bottle of champagne for £250, whereas some people in Africa don’t have food on their table which cost just couple of pounds. In addition, citizens of
developed nations have high salary incomes what they spend, most of it, through
travelling around the world and having fun, although this money could be
donated to poorer nations to buy some cloths and food.
To gain power rich nations spend lots of money on war. If the money unnecessarily spent on war was donated to poor nations, they would be benefited with food, houses and proper
treatment. For example, one survey shows that the money what USA alone spend
every year on war purposes could eradicate world’s extreme poverty if donated
instead.
On the other hand, Poor nations should act wisely and utilize their asset rather than depend on wealthy countries. Some nations who are developed now were not rich in the past. For instance, Malaysia was a poor nation once, but through hard work, perseverance and smart plan, they are developed now. So, to turn them into rich, poor countries
should also follow these nations’ footsteps.
In conclusion, although rich people spent huge amount of their money in luxury, fun and war purposes, poor have no money to buy food or cloths or build houses. Instead of wasting much of its money, rich nations should take liabilities to donate much of it,
if not all, to poorer nations. Underdeveloped nations should also plan ahead
and act wisely rather than wait for help.

Using either lower/upper case letters in the answer sheets was a thing that I kept in mind. I'm not so happy with my writing grade but the overall grade is what really matter, Plus, my univ requires 5.5 for the Writing sec. So I guess the 6.5 is somehow fine.

I got L-8, R-6.5, W-6.5 and S-7.0.
Got 7 bands overall within 1 n half week of preparations 😂.
Goodluck to you all who are appearing or going to appear for IELTS exams.
Great job! Well done :)
Plz can u share ur valuable tips with us?????
@@harmandeepkaur7033 yes sure in writing task 2 in BP1 (body para 1)you should state your main idea in the first sentence so that reader can easily understand on which topic you are mainly concentrated on (in that paragraph). Always support the main ideas by some supporting ideas with one example and TADA!! Your BP1 is over. Do the same for BP2 but don't repeat the ideas again. I used the same trick in my IELTS exam. I was expecting 6 or below in my writing but they gave me 6.5 because of my structure. Main idea> Supporting idea > example (with some connectors)
@@manavsood3158 Thankyou soo much for the writing tips......
But I also want tips for rest of the modules........
Hey Liz I would be thankful if you teach how to write body paragraph and conclusion too. Please!
I agree
Dear liz your teaching style is quite impressive as your sweet personality, thanks for dissemination of your knowledge

There is currently a contetious argument over wether exercise on systematic basis improves health . I totally agree with this opnion because regular exercise not only keeps a person fit it also gives one mental peace.
Watch at 1.25x speed.. I just saved some precious time of your life. Thank me later.

U know i really just forgot to accelerate the speed...Thanks

Here is my intro. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The most promising method to develop & improve health is to engage yourself in doing frequent exercise.

I guess when you say engage yourself in doing you are repeating yourself

That's really great. Well done to you :)
Thanks Liz! Your videos are extremely helpful. I scored 7.5 in writing with one month preparation.
Excellent!! Very well done to you :)
Passed with flying colour because of your help!!!
Great news - well done :)
hi liz. thanks for the big help...how about replacing " however" by
"in addition" , as however signifies contrasting idea from the previous sentence.
Please how you prepare for reading any tips Iam practicing from book called ielts for trainers , any tips
you are the most smoothly English instructor i have ever meet

Hi Liz, hope you are doing good... I did my IELTS General Training exam on 08th October. Got my results today, I got
Listening - 8.5
Reading - 9
Writing - 7.5
Speaking - 7
I simply watched all your videos and worked according to your tips, honestly I didn't do a single reading practice test, but your tips really helped me, in fact I had 15 minutes spare time as well. Speaking didn't go as planned because I had an Indian examiner, whose accent was a little difficult for me to process and had negative body language, so I panicked and couldn't perform as expected. But overall I am happy about the result and I am eternally grateful to you and your videos for guiding me to get the expected score in one go. I have never done IELTS before and I got this score by watching your videos and preparing only for 3 days. 😍🙏 God bless you ! Keep educating people. Thank you ! 💖
Great to see how well you've done. Excellent score :)
Wow. Your reading is excellent. I'm struggling with that. What did you do to get such perfect score?
@@naidiajames8784 I didn't have time to do a single practice test. I simply followed Liz's tips and tricks. Worked perfectly for me. You go through her videos and note down all the important tips. Go through the tips a few times, so that you know what exactly you gotta do at the exam. If you do find time, apply those tips and do a few tests. All the best ! I am sure you'll nail it. 💖
@@Ashna87730 Awesome. Thanks.
