Storm Thorgerson | Designing The Impossible

Storm Thorgerson was an English graphic designer. He is best known for closely working with the group Pink Floyd through most of their career, and also created album covers for Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, UFO, Genesis, Dream Theater, Muse, Helloween and many others.

I had a job as a photographic messenger in the summer of 1981 for Maintide Colour in London, who printed album covers for the likes of Pink Floyd and 10cc. Coolest job I ever had. It was a privilege to have met Storm Thorgeson

He created wonderful album covers, one of my all time faves is the LoveDrive album for the band Scorpions.

2 of my favourites album covers designed by him are from the same band, The Mars Volta. These covers are "Deloused at the Comatorium" and "Frances the Mute". I believe those are one of his best works, too bad almost nobody knows them.
